Great collection! Love that Finnish M62 filet knife bayo; looks nasty, gotta get me one. I have a repro FN FAL bayonet but would like to get the real thing; love them weird flash hider lugs. Funny short story about my repro FAL bayo. Was shooting my FAL with bayo attached; after several shots, heat built up and flash hider lugs drooped down almost into the line of fire. Thus, I'd like a "Real" one... LOL FN 49 has a really cool grind/shape on the blade; another for my wish list. STGW 57 has got to be the prettiest bayo in the group; thanks for turning me on to them; picked one up a few months ago... I have one AK bayo; don't quite share your affinity for these but I do like the story behind the notches in the scabbards. I'm digging that Portuguese 948 bayo too! Looks like a dagger on a Mauser handle! Fun video - Thanks for posting! Zk
Hey Pointy! I was at my stepdaughter's barracks open day here in Germany today, and saw one of those Stg57 bayonets on display, and immediately thought of you and your videos. It had the markings like the ones in this video, too. They had some AK bayonets and some really old fighting knives and bayonets that I could not identify, as well. My favourite blade was actually the KM2000 Bundeswehr fighting knife that they let me handle. It feels as cool as it looks. It was quite the display when coupled with all the flintlock rifles, sniper rifles, post-1900 pistols, and up to modern era military firearms. I just thought I'd share all that with you. Have a ripper day...
Sounds like a good day out. The Germans have some great stuff in their collections. I met a guy from the Bundespolizie Ballistics team. It was very interesting to hear what they have in their firearm reference library
The M7 was my laundry number in the USMC. Every morning when the lights came on at 0400 we would fall out on line and count off to see who wasn't there. My number was 19 on Port side of the squad bay. I remember it well....Parris Island was no joke during that time frame. Not saying it is now Marines..Semper Fi ! I have collected this bayonet and it's derivates. AWESOME video ..brought back good memories. THANKS !
We did the same at kapooka, lights came on, staff called hallway three. We had about 3 seconds to be standing at attention in the hallway with our bedsheets over our left shoulder ready to number off. It's definitely easier now than it was 20 years ago. I will never forget seeing a recruit get punched out by an instructor for mouthing off. The conversation went "Private what is your fucking problem" " it's complicated corporal" " what the fuck does that mean!" "It's a big word for you isn't it corporal" instructor hit him so hard his head went through the wall. Both instructor and recruit were gone the next day.
@@pointynotsharp8436 LOL….I’ve seen that before…with and without witnesses depending on who saw what. Only two ways off the “Island”….and causing a problem for yourself is one of them. Never make allegations against a drill instructor or put him in a situation where he has to defend himself. I side with the corporal on this one…but discipline means different things to different people. I saw that Portuguese bayonet you have…looks more like a trench/ fighting knife than a bayonet. Looking for one now for myself. It could be a keeper.
@@pointynotsharp8436 they are made on a similar shape but they are smaller. You should pick one up, i am sure youre going to like it. If you like the FAL bayonet for sure😉
Good stuff Brother 👍🏻🇦🇺

I love these type of bayonets aswel, my favorite bayonet is the uzi bajonet made by fn. i dont know why but i love it!😂
They look pretty cool, are they dimensionally the same as FAL type B's? Or is there a difference?
