There was a woman on board with her baby/toddler, and she stated she lost hold of the child, but regained hold, and was able to escape the yacht, and be saved. That alone tells me this happened very quickly with no warning. Prayers out to the families who lost loved ones on this tragic sinking.🙏✌🗽🙏
There was a warning for the storm in that area. The crew had to be aware of it and ready. The boat that size couldn't just sink in 2 minutes. It's impossible. There must be a human mistake involved. Someone screwed up
@@SeaLifeCro Yeah, I watched another channel state that the openings in the hull where the dinghy's are stored won't normally let water into the rest of the yacht as there's a protection device installed. But, this device is often disabled at the request of the owner for whatever reason. (I don't recall why) If this is the case the yacht could have sunk very quickly, and that plays to the human error you speak of. It could also be an act of God, one of those one off things, but I tend to agree with you that something the crew did caused this yacht to sink, and quickly!👍✌🗽
That woman is his wife they killed that family because he beat the case no fraud was found his codefendant was hit by a car same day this yacht was sabotaged
A few points to remember: - The ship was sitting at anchor, not underway. - The keel would normally only been lowered while they were underway. - It was nighttime, and most of those onboard were in bed, asleep. - Depending on the wishes of the captain and of the ship's owner, they may or may not have even been maintaining a bridge watch, given the above details. - A waterspout is a tornado over water, and like a tornado, it has a narrow track. Even if the crew had had warning, getting underway would have been just as likely to put them in the path as to move them out of it, until the storm was close enough that it wouldn''t have made a difference. - That type of ship isn't compartmentalized like a modern ocean liner. It's basically one large space, broken up by non-watertight partitions. and the lounge on the upper deck had huge windows that would quickly let the ship flood once it was over on its side. - The AIS system wouldn't have immediately dropped the ship the moment it sank; the "server" would have continued to show the last position information it had received for a few minutes before cutting out, because brief signal drops happen _ALL_ the time..
There is a possibility the door was left open on Stern (back) of boat, this is where the small boat is kept to transfer quests to shore. This would have allowed ship to sink quickly. The boat is in tack including mast. Many of crew were securing things on boat, this is why they got out easier when storm suddenly hit. Cabins towards bottom of vessel. This would make harder to get out. 5 of victims found in same cabin, though they were not sleeping there. Rescuers think they may have gone in this cabin seeking safety. 🙏❤️ to all involved in this tragedy, especially those who lost their lives and their families.
That's what happened to a Ferry a few years ago that sunk because the stern doors were open when they should have been closed due to a coming storm. I don't think there is any conspriacy freak accidnts happen a lot on the water we just don't hear about all them obviously.
Thats True Captain! but you also know that no matter how good a boat is built IT IS NO MATCH FOR THE OCEAN!!!! In this case however it appears that foul play may have been involved!
I’m confused….why is that sad? Do you usually just accept what you’re told without question….even when it makes no sense? Folks have forgotten their critical thinking skills.✌🏼
Total CAP on the keel being up as a cause! A keel steers the boat/yacht/vessel.Under the craft is a large "fin" that stabilizes the vessel and helps counteract the side to side sway and it is directly measured to offset the length of height of the mast Bigger the mast the bigger "fin" underneath. Boats are very hard to just blow over even when the sails are at full. I lived on a sailboat so I'm somewhat familiar.
Everyone has a set time and date unknown to us. When people talk about the Universe. It not the Universe, it’s the maker of the Universe that has the date and time set for us all🌹
Yay man I get you. How could this boat have gone down with a full crew that is trained. However sometimes people feel so entitled that think they know better. The weather was reported earlier that day and from what I ave read even the fisherman in that town did not go out because those water spouts are so unpredictable that they all anchored their boats in the harbor. They said they found the “haul” open….if that is true then maybe the windows were open too and the water just got it. It’s hard to say…most likely an unfortunate accident whereby the perfect and rare conditions presented themselves for the boat to go down. But the fact that Mr Lynch’s co defendent was killed in a car accident a day or two before is strange. Is this all a weird coincidence? Such a tragedy…it is sad…but lets not forget…there are regular people who die in accidents everyday..car accidents, falls, etc…and those accidents don’t get this much press because its not wealthy white billionaires. My two cents and it is still sad.
It’s amazing how whenever a ship of any kind sinks or suffers major damage at sea how authorities claim that something doesn’t quite add up 🤔🤔🤔. For example, Deadliest Catch fans would know of or remember the sinking of the crab boats named Scandies Rose & Destination, both losses riddled with things that didn’t quite add up. Even aircraft aren’t immune from this as evidenced by the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 in 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Generally, only the crew wear always on life collars, the guests don't. Just like no one on a cruise ship walks around with lifejackets on. However, 16 minutes should be plenty of time to get on a lifeboat or in lifejackets and get away from the boat because once it starts to take on water it is nearly impossible to get out if not up on deck, so that is odd, but more that the crew was too lax in doing that.
The moment SKY News reported that the co defendant was in a fatal accident, I told my hubby there is no coincidences. Lets see what the investigation reveals.
We told they had a 16 minute warning so why didn't they put out a alert a mayday?why if they had this warning weren't they all wearing life jackets and if they had those 16 minutes why weren't all of them in the safety boat why were only some of them inside it the survivors in the safety boat need to give some explanation to these questions ❤❤❤
I have looked a zillions of photos of this boat. The sunken area around the mast is a weak point where the deck dives next to the hull. Also we know the heavy glass doors had seal issues. I would say the unsinkable sunk. Also...consider vent openings for HVAC and generator as weak hull entry points. Maybe more flotation foam neeeded?
You don't always get a warning. I was on watch on a sailboat about three in the morning. My watch mate went down below to get us some drinks. We ran into a squall the last thing I saw was the wind gauge hit 55 knots and I was sailing blind after that. The boat was on its side in the water I had my foot in the wheel to keep control of the boat.. No one below could get on deck or open a hatch to let the sails out. It seemed like forever before the wind calmed down. I do not know how high the wind speed got since I could not see.
Bazaar! I have watched every TH-cam & tweets about this as I could. The construction of this yacht was unsinkable. The mast was 240 ft tall! Do you realize how tall that is, wow! Part of the top floor was covered by a tent canvas material covering a massive patio type setting. Under that was a huge wide staircase leading to a lower main deck. If a microburst happened (that’s what I have read) it flooded it quickly. Adding high winds tipping it because the keel was retracted-that has yet to be announced. Also The banker, the lawyer, that was involved in the multibillion dollar lawsuit also perished. 😮 The boat quickly sank because of a weather phenomenon. Or was it a weather modification done purposely? Or if any other reason how could this of happened?
Y'all putting down the conspiracy theories. I don't care about theories, this was a hit. The best ones look like an accident. It's too convenient for too many people for Mike Lynch to die.
The biggest killer of wealthy people? Complacency. They all possess an overconfidence, want bragging rights and have the money to indulge them with the biggest yacht, the tallest sail etc. Do you think at the beginning of that holiday that the captain got all the crew and guests together and did a serious safety talk or drill??
The real truth is the sailboat was a sinker from the get go. The operating instruction are faulty and the ship's design. With the current operating instructions it's clear to see it was a death trap waiting to happen.
The Sinking is being investigated as the divers investigating the ship say it shouldn't have sinking. And now it's being looked into it as a Homicide. The report says multiple people may have been responsible for it sinking as the ship itself was designed to not sink and the ship was not set for bad weather as it should have been.
I love a good conspiracy theory as much as anyone, however... What they can't fake is that the weather actually happened. They assume they had 16 minutes. Another boat that was nearby and moved, says differently. Think about everything that would have been happening during that supposed 16 minutes time. And, when a boat starts to go under, it creates huge suction. And human error, without malicious intent, is in fact a thing.
well, in Europe, we have Weather Services, using latest satellite technology to tell us of impending problems. The Italian Westher service had given a full weather report, plus, that multi-million dollar yacht had something called 'Weather Radar' which would have told the officer on watch of an approaching storm. I'm surprised you have never seen a weather forecast on TV....are you Amish?

actually, the ship's designer said yesterday on BBC News, that the ship WAS Compartmentalized and capable of being flooded if the door was open.

As a captain of a boat you should have a emergency case. Like where are the switches to maybe open the side doors and know WHERE ARE THE LIFE VEST.

Two defendants in the same case dying within a couple days of each other? Yup, shady AF. A boat sinking after getting hit by a tornado? Not shady.
