1978 Chevy Corvette Pace Car | Drive & Review!

This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette “Indianapolis 500 Pace Car” edition is one of just 6,502 made for the entire world, and thanks to my friends over at @luxsportmotorgroup, I got to take this car out for a drive and do a full-detailed review! There’s so many unique features on the Pace Car that aren’t on normal 1978 Vette’s so be sure to watch the video and find out what they are!

The 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car comes factory with a two-tone black & silver paint job with Pace Car logos and other unique details such as limited edition badges and unique body options. The 1978 Corvette Pace Car was built to pace around the Indianapolis 500 raceway in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Corvette model.

Shortly after it was announced that a limited run of customer cars were going to be produced and the car I drove in this video happens to be one of those! The #1978ChevroletCorvette comes with a respectable 220 horsepower L82 V8 engine and either a 3-speed automatic transmission or an optional, and very rare, four speed manual transmission.

Each example of the #CorvettePaceCar models in 1978 were fitted with a unique silver colored upholstery and trim on the interior as optional aluminum wheels, which were standard on the pace car model. The shiny, aluminum finish was matched with a thin red stripe for only the pace cars and that compliments the red striping on the body of the car very nicely.

Overall, this #Corvette is the oldest car we’ve ever driven on this channel, but also one of the most fun! A true corvette collectors dream, and in a low mileage, welp kept example available via @luxsportmotorgroup.
