    Thank you so much for this video, I got an idea of how I can transform local factories and workshops' scraps to t-shirts yarn to make rugs.

    Hi - How many yards of yarn do get from one yard of jersey fabric? thank you

    • @tkgosselin
      @tkgosselin 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The answer is 21.25 ish making this extremely expensive in comparison to skeins of similar material. A skein costing 11.99 at Joanne's is 184 yards.

    Is the fabric able to have a little spandex or polyester in it? All the knit jersey fabric I'm finding isn't 100% cotton

    I just watched your video on hemming with heat n bond tape. Do you think I could use that to seam the ends of the jersey material I’m using to follow this tutorial to make yarn?

    • @thediymommy
      @thediymommy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it would probably work!

    • @lindsypenney3064
      @lindsypenney3064 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING SO QUICKLY! I used Dritz brand “Stitch Witch Fusible Bonding Web”, because that’s what I had on hand. I steam seemed the ends late last night, and let them set overnight. Even if it doesn’t create a super strong bond, I’m making this for myself so I know to be careful when I reach a seam in my yarn. THANKS AGAIN!!!

    Hello Maam, if I want to use a fabric glue instead of sewing the fabric. Is it okay? Is there a chance that the fabric will break apart once I start stretching them? Thanks in advance ❤️❤️

    how many yards is never answered. I think to make this rug would be very costly. Recyled t-shirts is cheap...The fabric is 8.00 a yard..

    Please be aware that you should Never use a rotary cutter by cutting towards yourself, always cut away from yourself. Otherwise thanks for the tutorial.

    Not sure why Americans assume that their audience is always 100% American. :-/ For the other 96% of the people on the planet who are watching, a "Serger" is actually an *Overlocker*.
    Americans just love to make up new words for things that have existed since the 1800's. Like Cookies - which have been called biscuits for centuries.

      Not sure why people from other countries expect those who don’t live there to know there are other terms and/or translate for those who live elsewhere. Like hold on let me make a 4 minute video turn into a 4 hour video that has worldwide all inclusive terminology. If you don’t know what something is then look it up, that’s what google (or whatever you use where you are) is for.

      "Cookies" is from the Dutch language, not every settler in the USA was from Britain....
