I wonder why doctors don't spend even a fraction of the time explaining things to patients instead of keeping them in the dark about their condition most future Dr visits would be completely unnecessary instead of them constantly sitting in front of you with their heads down and writing without even looking at you and explaining a few simple things such as this gentleman has thank you for your time it is very much appreciated!

Going to your GP about sciatica is a total waste of time, they only give you pain and nerve meds and not try and help fix the root cause of your problem. Physios couldn't do anything either and said come back when you feel a bit better.

This is the content I've desperately needed since my bulging disc diagnosis and pain. I've seen so many doctors lately but they simply do not go into this level of detail and I was making 3 of these 7 mistakes as a result and been putting myself through unnecessary and prolonged pain. I also really appreciated the total lack of filler or fluff and just straight facts.

He is a chiropractor which study what heals the body. Medical Drs study what kills the body and prescribe chemicals to alter the body or simply take parts out like gal bladder or appendix or cut stomach in half (bariatric surgery) etc etc... either you (body) survive their treatment or the infection, cancer, or, disease does.
I choose chiropractic or acupuncture over medical Drs. The veterans hospitals have large acupuncture areas because it works similar to chiro. Regular hospitals very them as competition

I would not wish this type of pain on my worst enemy. I had two bulging disc in my neck and the pain lasted for six solid weeks. I could not imagine having chronic back pain constantly. I feel so bad for people that have this problem 24 seven for years, it literally rips any kind of joy you have in your life. Nothing matters all you can focus on is the pain and no kind of pain medicine helps

What an excellent video, full of great advice. I've had a bulging disc (L5S1) for years now and I've managed to cope with it for most of the time by using the 7 tips that you've just given, through trial and error and finding what works best for me. Your advice about not continuing with painfull exercises is spot on. For years I spent too much time and money at so called specialists only to come out worse than I went in.I just wish my doctors had been as eloquent and informative as you've been 👍

Very useful, I have been suffering for 2 years- ended up not being able to walk. Ended up in the ER, had C T scan and 2:steroid shots a week a part. This allowed me to start physio. Diagnosed with bulging discs L5 being the major issue. Also stenosis / arthritis & neuropathy. Been a painful nightmare and struggle. Today in a better place, managed with weekly physio to get the pain from my legs up to the lower back. Now working on that, keep moving as much as I can handle and lots of daily exercise to strengthen my core & keep my muscle strength as I lost most of that on my right side. Have purchased a lot of things to help me do that. Treadmill/ Red light therapy/ bands to stretch with / roller for my back and so much more. Proper chair with back support and foot rest for better posture. Been quite the challenge & has limited my day to day. Just want to get back to life pain free. Your video let's me know I'm on the right track as far as what not to do. 🙏Thank you

same thing happened to me. I actually had thoracic spinal fusion to walk again after getting paralyzed 6 years ago. Now my old lumbar herniated disc is painful at l5-s1 and put me in the hospital due to neuropathy and unable to stand due to pain and muscle weakness. i also have 2 bulging discs in the neck pressing on my spinal cord. I am in pain daily and I can't wait until this goes away. I am not doing another surgery. LIving like this horrific so I feel your pain

@@soyicasweet99 OMG that is a lot , I truly feel your pain. Thankfully with a lot of hard work and therapy I'm sure in a better place. Not 100% but working on it. I was in a very dark place from all the pain and inability to function. But I refused to get surgery, so I will continue to put in the work. I pray you find comfort, hang in there and NEVER give up. At my darkest hour I fought to hold onto faith to keep pushing. I still have neuropathy in my right foot, and if I do not exercise I feel the effects. But hey will keep me in shape to if anything😋. Good luck on your journey, sending you strength and prayers.

I used to do litigation specialising in disc herniation, and used to work with a leading professor in spinal surgery, biomechanics and radiology. This guy is spot on. The MRI scan advice is absolutely correct. The Prof I used to work with used to say that you only MRI to confirm a diagnosis, not to determine a diagnosis. Many of these back osteopaths and Physio’s give wrong advice (discs are shock absorbers, discs can herniate through trauma etc) but this man knows what he is talking about, I would definitely trust him.

Finally! A therapist who understands bulging discs and provides insightful exercises that actually help the situation. I had an L4-L5 laminectomy and I've followed suggestions from other online therapists who have provided exercises for strengthening the core, but I believe some of those actually create inflammation. Will's exercises are more likely to help healing and prevent further inflammation. Not only that, but Will clearly identifies exercises that could potentially create inflammation. I also appreciate his detailed demonstrations. I wish I would have stumbled upon this site two years ago.

Having slipped a lumbar disc several times over the years, I have learned these through experience. Walking is so very helpful. I am usually painfully stiff and far away from being able to utilize my normal gait for the first 20 minutes or so, but eventually, muscles relax, and movement slowly allows the disc to shift closer into position and away from the nerve. Within an hour, I am able to at least walk fully upright and with full gait. Varied terrain seems to also be helpful, such as a trail hike rather than a flat paved sidewalk.
The first time it happened, I was advised to stay in bed. Horrifically painful experience that I of course never repeated.

By far the best TH-cam video on sciatica I've watched, and I've watched a lot. I'm 52, about four weeks into my first ever bout of sciatica and this has shown me the way, crucially what NOT to do (out with the lazyboy recliner immediately). I only watched the video a few mins ago and already feel like a new man after sinking quite deeply into a pit of self pity and misery. Thankyou so much.

Thanks. I'm now four weeks post surgery and able to walk again for the first time in four months. My sciatica was caused not by a bulging disc, but a herniated L5/S1 disc. No amount of exercise or stretches would fix that problem and surgery to remove the herniation was the only fix. Within an hour of surgery I could walk and all nerve pain immediately disappeared. It took me a week to detox from codeine and a few days before I could drive again. I can now run, hike, sleep etc. Please, get a scan if you have bad sciatica, exercise and stretches will not always be the answer. @@demiladebakare3109

I have seen so many videos and have used osteopaths and pain clinics. Exercises and accupuncture. But this guy is the only one that completely understands the problem and explains it so well.

Thank for this! I find that keeping moving reduces the pain, agree with all the sitting advice: I have experienced this. Hydration is so important! Thank you for your exercise advice. I feel worse after a massage!

Thank you again. This explains why the hamstring exercises my physio made me do was making it worse when i had a bulging disc problem. I feel like Ive been getting so many different input from different professionals and yours has made the most sense. Thank you.
