    One little but useful trick I would like to add which I've seen no one use with respect to mag tube and recoil spring dis and reassembly.
    Simply thread a screwdriver or cleaning rod through the spring and retaining snap ring or ring nut and push the whole thing into the tube without the need to handle the spring like a snake!
    Same goes for removal...Put that screwdriver or cleaning rod through the snap ring and the spring, then remove the snap ring with all in complete control!!

      Question for you. I see you got about 5 rotations on the butt stock to get it on. I get about the same before I feel resistance as well but the stock is really easy to twist off. With the trigger group in, I can feel it click back and forth if I twist the stock all assembled.
      Will it hurt anything to give it one more rotation at this point to put it on a bit tighter?
      Thanks.

    Awesome video but I am having an awful time with the shell stop pin. Any idea what could be stopping it? Going from the bottom and using a roller punch pin

    • @PrecisionTKS
      @PrecisionTKS  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, that's one of the more difficult pieces to reassemble. If the shell stop level is not 100% perfectly aligned, the pin won't go through. You need about 4 or 5 hands it seems like to hold everything perfect. I recommend to just keep working at it and eventually things will click into place.

    Hi Andy. Thanks alot for the great video. Thanks to you, Im now quite comfortable to work with by brand new M4. But i have a problem that i wonder if u know how to solve. The pic rail that came from the factory always comes loose after maybe 75 or 100 rounds. Any sights i have mounted becomes floppy. All 5 screws come loose! I tried Permatex Blue Gel, but it didnt work [Im not even sure it bonded properly]. Any expert advice?

    • @PrecisionTKS
      @PrecisionTKS  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No problem at all! For your problem, I'd first make sure EVERYTHING is clean and degreased. Take the screws out, the rail off, and soak them in acetone. Wipe down the receiver and inside the threaded holes with acetone also. When you reassemble, make sure again that everything is clean and torque them down. If that still doesn't fix the issue, I'd use red locktite.

    Loved the video, but do you know how to disassemble the M-4 stock to remove the sling mount and change it out for an aftermarket QD Mount?

    • @PrecisionTKS
      @PrecisionTKS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd think it would ultimately depend on the QD mount you installed, but if it's one that just goes into the slot at the rear of the stock, it'd be fairly easy. Remove the trigger assembly, unscrew the stock from the receiver, swap out the sling plate for the QD plate, and then reassemble in the reverse. If it's one that would be installed between the receiver and the stock (like the Mesa Tactical), it'd be the exact same procedure, but you'd put the plate further forward and leave the sling plate where it currently sits.

    Wanted to ask: That’s an 11703 and it looks like in your video that it has the 3 position recoil tube for use with the collapsing stock. I wanted to verify if that’s the case if you can. Great vid btw, very easy to follow

    • @PrecisionTKS
      @PrecisionTKS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that's the case. It is the 11703 model and mine came with the 3 position tube. Why? I honestly have no idea. The stock itself is non-adjustable, so the tube offers no real benefit over a non adjustable tube from what I have seen.
      Thanks! I'm glad yhe video was clear.

  • @jdrpepper79
    @jdrpepper79 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Thanks for the great video. Sorry if i am doubling up in the comments, but I'm not sure where my last comment went...
    I see it takes about 5 rotations to get the field stock back on. It is about the same for me before i start to feel resistance.
    However, with the trigger group in, i can twist the stock with an audible click. The tab from the trigger group keeps it from rotating, but it does move. Will it hurt anything to give it one more rotation at this point? It is still fairly easy to rotate and get 6 rotations on the stock. Thanks in advance

    • @PrecisionTKS
      @PrecisionTKS  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      All good. I'd have to see it in person to know for sure, but as long as your assembly can handle the 6th rotation without binding or breaking, I don't see why it would cause any problems. The stock itself is a fairly "independent" piece and isn't a piece of a critical assembly. Your outcome will also be dependent upon how the threads are exactly indexed on the receiver.

    • @jdrpepper79
      @jdrpepper79 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @PrecisionTKS appreciate the feed back. Yeah it is fairly easy to get the 6th rotation in. Does even go to 7th rotation with a bit more effort. Does seem to need a bit more force but cam still get there by hand. I think I will just leave it at 6th. Thanks again

  • @1sonjohn44
    @1sonjohn44 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great video, question, how do you like the traditional stock? Is the grip comfortable to hold? Is the LOP long? I prefer longer LOP.
    Also, is the recoil pad comfortable?

    • @PrecisionTKS
      @PrecisionTKS  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally, I still like my tactical style shotguns to have a pistol grip of some sort but for all intents and purposes the traditional stock is a nice one. It has, at least what feels to me, like a slightly longer-than-average LOP, but is still comfortable. I don't really have anything negative to say about it other than I just don't like that overall style for tactical shotguns, but that's my personal preference and shouldn't really play a role in anyone else's decisions.
      With that being said, the recoil pad is just that: a recoil pad. It's a 12 ga shotgun that kicks like a 12 ga shotgun. Lol. I don't really feel like it's any better or worse than any other recoil pads out there for the most part. It is a slightly harder rubber than some others I have shot, but that doesn't really affect my shooting.
