As of someone who’s an SMU Mustangs fan, I’m shocked the 1995 roster isn’t on the list. Much like the 94 Cougars, they only scored 12 points a game on average, and posting a 1-10 record. Their only win was against a mediocre Arkansas team. The most amount of points SMU scored all year was 24. We were one of the best teams in the 80s but somehow plummeted and went nowhere in the 90s. In fact, they only went above .500 ONCE that decade, in 1997. I’m glad our teams finally good, but still. The 90s and early 2000s were the absolute worst.
Yes I agree they were terrible until 2007 or so but they were in a much better conference for most of the 90s. Once the SWC dissolved after 1995 and SMU went to the WAC they started to win games clearly showing the strength of the SWC.
Thanks for watching, I realized later that I was too nice to "Power 5" conferences and their teams. I did use the rankings from sports-reference-cfb.com to help me. Also it is hard to choose 10 in a whole decade.
I'm surprised the 1990 Vanderbilt team wasn't on there somewhere. They did win a game against LSU but went 1-10, gave up over 41 points per game, and got slaughtered 44-7 by SMU.
@@jamesfields2916 Yes, we have traditionally played Ole Miss early in the year, and our lack of depth isn't as much of a factor. For the same reason, we have lead Alabama at halftime a surprising number of times -- for 30-odd years we opened with Alabama every season.
As a Ball State fan I find it weird how in 1996 we won the MAC and made the Las Vegas Bowl and then by 1999 we went to complete shit. That's one of the many flaws in college football. Once your seniors graduate, the team always gets worse cuz of underclassmen and players who were primarily on the bench their first season or two.
This seemed to be a thing that happened to a lot of MAC schools. Look at Buffalo, they were terrible, as I went over, and now they are one of the best in the MAC. Akron is like that now, really bad, but should be good in a few years
@@WrongedSports Yeah for real. We were like that starting in 2014. 2017 was awful, we finished 2-10. Then now we are the defending MAC champion and we got our first bowl win.
love the background music here, especially in the last 10 min
loving the details on these videos big fan of flemlo raps and KTO and you have the same type of hustle keep them up!
Appreciate that, thanks for watching. I got tons of stuff coming in the next few weeks
Northern Illinois has been a D1 school for years and won the MAC and California Bowl in 1983 before going independent.
This channel definitely needs more subs!

Somehow? They got the death penalty!
Looking forward to new content!
Sup! Just Subscribed
Surprised the ‘98 and ‘99 Gamecocks didn’t make the list.

I like this channel hope I see more worst.
Are you going to continue this series through the 2010s? I want to hear about the 2012 or 13 Colorado team (I don’t remember which didn’t win a game)
Yeah but not until the summer. I have a lot of other content coming. But thank you for checking this out and commenting

They weren't on here due to the level of competition they had in the SEC.
Vanderbilt lost a close one to a 9-3 Ole Miss team 15-14. Vandy always plays Ole Miss tough.

The SMU team that Houston beat wasn’t that far removed from the Desth Penalty
Pitt had to be one of the worst 1A teams in the mid-90s. Losses of 72-0, 63-21, and 63-28 to middling other 1A teams.
How about Iowa State Cyclones of the 1990's
Do you have a specific year. I dont want to do a whole decade. Cause other wise there would be even more Kansas State on here. But thanks for watching
You guys had a Heisman Trophy runner up!
I'd pick the 1994 team that went 0-10-1 and tied Oklahoma State for the second time in 4 years, who also went 0-10-1 in 1991.
