Not getting phones not at launch but waiting for discounts is also an option, and people should start counting in "cost per year".
I'm still using a flagship from 2017 that costed me 800€ (in comfy monthly installments) and its usb-c port supports 4k at 60hz for mirroring the display or casting (1080p for Dex): most budget phones nowadays, just like they lack video out and such cheap features to implement, are purposefully made to not last and the components are inferior in quality and reliability.
I clearly can't play recent games on it, but it can do everything a (truly) budget phone can do.
The wisest thing to do, for value, is getting the best at a discount rather than compromising.
Again, "cost per year".
I got the regular 13 pro and it's excellent. I don't play games, i only do everyday tasks, so the 100 euro reference wasn't deal for me.😢

I am using Redmi Note 13 Pro 4g. I like the camera cause it's 200 mp, the display because it's AMOLED and the storage for it's 8 256 gb. What I don't like is it is EASY TO GET DRAIN IT'S BATTERY for its 5000 mph battery. Easy to low bat.

There's too much of a price jump for the plus model for very little extra.
There's actually a 13 Pro 4G that has microsd card slot and FM radio plus weak specs. Wish Xiaomi just put those two features on the regular 13 Pro 5G.

You all are very late in reviewing these china phones. There are quite a lot of them that were released almost two to three months ago and many of them are very cool to look at and fidget around with.
Review Realme 12 pro plus in the future. It looks very amazing.
They already have this review on their website but yes the video release was late.
They've long reviewed both phones. It's just some free time for this comparison as there isn't much new that's releasing atm.

@@liam1384yup, I'm using one too. For it's price, it's a good deal. Switched from iPhone as well cos I realised it's better to buy mid rangers every 1-2 years instead of being stuck on one device for years. Also, like MKBHD said, "Cheap phones are getting good" 😄

There is no competition. The pro+ doesn't have a headphone jack, so it fails as a phone. It could literally carry the hardware to cure cancer and it still wouldn't make the phone any more usable to me. Hell, the pro could literally have a design flaw where it stabs into my ears whenever I'm on call and it would still be more useful to me than a slab of aluminium with no way to connect my headphones.
Phones are dumb, capitalism is dumb, I wish I never needed them for day to day life this is so frustrating. Every single time I need to shop for a new phone I always end up feeling so helpless and out of touch with the world. At this point, what's the point in even trying? I wish I could just give up on it all, throw all my devices away and disappear into the void where my despair makes its home.
Do we have any control over our lives? Are we just doomed to slowly converge on a single design for everything we use? When did such a small thing like a phone turn into an expected, never-ending life event? Why am I forced to pay for things I don't want, and increasingly want less as their designs are made with the individual consumer less and less in mind? How much of *my* life is left for *me* when you take away all the useless monotony I have to just put up with for the sake of being a profitable citizen?
Every single time I need to buy a new phone I am reminded that none of this is worth it. and every time it feels a little worse. im honestly not sure i can survive the next time my phone breaks, though of course they are all designed to eventually. im just not strong enough anymore. i dont see what life has to offer me, all it does is bloat my time with nothing i enjoy.
