I clearly can't play recent games on it, but it can do everything a (truly) budget phone can do. The wisest thing to do, for value, is getting the best at a discount rather than compromising. Again, "cost per year".
I chose the Pro. - Mainly flat screen over edgy - Snapdragon is a more solid chip - Camera is the same and processing is not objectively any worse - I spared more than 50€

I did a ton of research on phones and went with the pro. I prefer that flat screen. Less chance to damage if dropped and my fat hands touch the curved screen to much while gaming. But the headphone jack sold me. I've done the wireless headphones and have dropped and broke them to much. And half the price of it's competitors. Can't beat that.
They only had the 512 , 12 GB option in the plus and my old phone has 220 used after sending all my media to the cloud cause it was full 😂 so I needed to upgrade "or delete some junk "

There's actually a 13 Pro 4G that has microsd card slot and FM radio plus weak specs. Wish Xiaomi just put those two features on the regular 13 Pro 5G.

There is no competition. The pro+ doesn't have a headphone jack, so it fails as a phone. It could literally carry the hardware to cure cancer and it still wouldn't make the phone any more usable to me. Hell, the pro could literally have a design flaw where it stabs into my ears whenever I'm on call and it would still be more useful to me than a slab of aluminium with no way to connect my headphones. Phones are dumb, capitalism is dumb, I wish I never needed them for day to day life this is so frustrating. Every single time I need to shop for a new phone I always end up feeling so helpless and out of touch with the world. At this point, what's the point in even trying? I wish I could just give up on it all, throw all my devices away and disappear into the void where my despair makes its home. Do we have any control over our lives? Are we just doomed to slowly converge on a single design for everything we use? When did such a small thing like a phone turn into an expected, never-ending life event? Why am I forced to pay for things I don't want, and increasingly want less as their designs are made with the individual consumer less and less in mind? The main difference which I consider is the chip. There are a lot of custom ROMs for Qualcomm chip and there is literaly no custom ROMs for Mediatek chip and it seems that there will be no ROMs for it in the future. So, if you are considering a smartphone which you are able to root/reflash, don't buy that one on Mediatek

Guys the 13 is just horrendous on battery life, just got as a bonus the basic13, which has identical battery to pro+ and almost the same as the pro. Well, its frightening to see the battery drain in front of your eyes, literally! Still having the 8 pro, its night and day to compare it. My 8 pro will easily last 3 days, this 13 is not making through 1 day nomatter what. Now I see the reason of all being supplied with fast chargers, otherwise they would simply not sell. VERY DISSAPOINTING on battery life from an otherwise nice phone. Only way I think I will be keeping it is because it wiressly connects to my car stereo for Android Auto while my 8 pro needs to be plugged.

You all are very late in reviewing these china phones. There are quite a lot of them that were released almost two to three months ago and many of them are very cool to look at and fidget around with. Review Realme 12 pro plus in the future. It looks very amazing.
If you want a "phone" don't buy it. 5G is the default preferred network, but emergency calls to 1 signal strength. If you manually select 4G, emergency to 2 signal. If 3G, 3 to 5. I have never had a weak signal on my Samsung A71 phone in the past 5 years. I regret buying this damn Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. Sometimes it fails to send Text/SMS by preinstalled message and requires fucking mobile data. But most of the time it doesn't require action data to send Text/SMS. Never update to hyperOS. Better still, unlock your bootloader before upgrading to hyperOS so you can revert to Miui 14 if you need to

5G is the default preferred network, but emergency calls to 1 signal strength.
If you manually select 4G, emergency to 2 signal.
If 3G, 3 to 5.
