  • With 613 career regular season wins, but more importantly both of the Knicks' championships under his belt, Red Holzman is undoubtedly the most successful head coach in franchise history. This is the story of how he led the Knickerbockers to their 1970 and 1973 NBA titles.

Nice memories. Red Holzman was an excellent coach during the Knicks' era as one of the NBA's most dominant teams. He had a good run between 1966-67 and 1973-74.

Red could teach Basketball 101 and so defensive-minded and he had confidence in his team creating their own offensive schemes and it worked since undoubtedly the Knicks were smart, selfless, focused and championship-oriented! I grew up in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn near Marv Albert and I can become a sportscaster because of Marv! I learned so much about the game because of Red and Marv!

@@winnhill3736 No. The Knicks of the early 70’s was a team where the Whole was greater than the sum of its parts.
They had great depth on the bench too. Late in the game they could replace 2 or 3 guys , from the starting lineup , and still maintain the
      same level of play.
