For those that don't know... Huger, SC is about a good 20 min away from Charleston, it's out in the boonies and that's why he was pinned behind the vehicle for so long. More than 6 different police agency's came out to assist. Thank you to the police force!

At one point in the incident, the suspect said he was going to surrender to law enforcement. When deputies got close, the suspect fired again. The suspect was shot and killed. . All law enforcement officers that were on scene are unharmed.
If someone is trying to shoot you, then you're beyond cordial requests of mercy. This officer unfortunately had no recourse because his sidearm was basically for looks. His initial draw showed his inexperience. He knew he had zero chance of hitting the suspect at that distance in that scenario. So here's the moral of the story. Don't end up begging for your life while holding a functioning gun. Get training. Then go practice, on your own dime if you must. As a cop you have no excuse not to. I'm glad nobody important was hurt. Also, that big ass tree to his left is much better cover.

At one point in the incident, the suspect said he was going to surrender to law enforcement. When deputies got close, the suspect fired again. The suspect was shot and killed. . All law enforcement officers that were on scene are unharmed.

If someone is trying to shoot you, then you're beyond cordial requests of mercy. This officer unfortunately had no recourse because his sidearm was basically for looks. His initial draw showed his inexperience. He knew he had zero chance of hitting the suspect at that distance in that scenario.
So here's the moral of the story. Don't end up begging for your life while holding a functioning gun. Get training. Then go practice, on your own dime if you must. As a cop you have no excuse not to. I'm glad nobody important was hurt.
Also, that big ass tree to his left is much better cover.

it is a beautiful spot / there is a nice accessible lake/ mostly good country folk / scenic wildlife / unfortunately guns were drawn over a neighbor arguing with Mr Hart and I believe couple shots fired b4 the cops arrived the dispute was what drew them there / I know the lady of the house she is very kind and was taking care and helping Mr. Hart, I believe he was troubled but she spoke with care towards him / and yes she had young children that stayed with her often but God Bless not at that moment, Unfortunately Mr Hart had a Psychotic Break and went at the cops with deadly force Luckily the Law Enforcement did what they had to do. People Love your Neighbors and Peace and Harmony Follow / I could tell that Lady really cared for Mr Hart / I wish all people had access to mental health programs so we can resolve issues peacefully
