The master eq is the last place I go. I have 2 choir mics and 2 other suspended mics for our bell choir and only one I would consider behind the array...they're more off to the side. I was able to gain up the bell mics but the choir mics were extremely touchy so into the house eq and I notched out the offending frequencies. Next project...the pastor's lavalier mic. Sometimes there's a low mid after ring and I've found that the high pass filter can cure it but our sanctuary is huge and a trainwreck for acoustics....no treatment anywhere. Thanks for the great ideas.

Very good point about a mic that moves around the stage in front of different monitor wedges/sends. We don’t have that problem but I hadn’t really thought about it before.
Excellent video! I have done similar things to reduce feedback, I have both notched channel eq and monitors but that’s if it’s last resort I usually start in the channel.
Great video! Don’t for get if your doing MONS from FOH you can always double patch into a second channel and then use Channel one for FOH and use and channel 2 for MONS i always do it that way, main reasons being is I do additive eq for FOH and subtractive for mons
Another reasons for using subgroup for ringing out the feedback are: a) If you have several lapel/headsets mics (and they're all the same capsule), one fixed in the subgroup means all are already fixed, so you save time. b) It is not unusual in corporate/church events that you're streaming, recording, sending the mics to a simultaneus translation system, etc. You can feed them by mixbuses and if you use a subgroup to notch the feedback and send it to the main PA, those notches will not be in those sendings that don't need them
I was made the new Tech director in my church and I came across your channel recently, I must say I have learnt alot from your videos. Thanks for providing useful information to help people like me grow. We have a PreSonus 64S and I can see that you use the Series iii console a lot which has helped me this far. However, we are looking to improve our broadcast mix and still searching for a solution on how to send all the mix channel to a DAW for online mix with our mixer. Any suggestions or idea would help. Thanks

Obligatory “I’m the video guy” comment but 100% nothing like feedback for the sound tech solo. We’ve been on IEMs for our main worship team for a while but we still get peaky points on certain lavs/headsets.

Oh the lav mic, love-hate relationship with that thing. I didn’t realize that option added another layer of eq, that’s awesome.
