- Chinese girls surprised to see a Black man in a park speak perfect Chinese {They said..} As a foreigner speaking Chinese language surprises people allot. As a black man who enjoys Chinese food culture it is a plus when you can speak perfect mandarin.
I walked to a Chinese park in the city. The girls were surprised how well I speak the language unlike most white person speaking Chinese. My mandarin level makes it easy to communicate freely with strangers too. Most people will ask me how long I learn Chinese.

We’ll! Mandarin just like any other foreign language. I’d say that it takes time to learn .But with a Chinese environment and consistency you’ll get it much faster. I mean get out there listen more and speak more, only reading books won’t help that much especially with the speaking part. I learned the language in a year and half but never read or took any course. Anyways good luck 👍
@@mikeraynaldo3454 I live in Singapore it helps that there are majority chinese speaking population here. So sometimes, by recognizing a few words, I can understand what they talking about.

I’ll read some not all. Chinese language is vast and made of over thousands of characters. Even the smartest Chinese won’t make it up to 80%😄
@@mikeraynaldo3454 I think about this a lot actually. How on earth did you get so far without reading. I mean, obviously you can read on some level. But I would imagine, to have taught yourself without school, just by listening seems virtually impossible. Without like a marriage, or a job, or some deeply integrated activity. What you've done is incredible. I studied 2 years of Japanese (as 1 course of 5 in college for 4 semesters) then went over and lived there and it STILL wasn't enough.
