My betta fish was the BEST lil homie! His name was Gazpacho and he brought me so much joy. He would jump out of the water to catch treats and keep me company while I worked. I also did a ton of research on proper care after he started getting sick from the pH balance being off, so I'm glad you mentioned how high maintenance they actually are. When he died and I buried him in my garden, a bunch of chamomile randomly grew from his grave! Jelly and Chips are lucky they get to watch you make art
I’ve had a similar summer - focused most on outdoor activities and socializing and I gotta say it even improved my art. I notices so many interesting details in nature that I now incorporate in my illustration. 10/10 do recommend nature
Omg back in high school, the marching band would take us out on canoe/kayaking trips for a day in the summer on the little miami, and it was always a really really fun time! the seniors would all gather at the front and start dunking people and it was always such a chaotic but memorable time. I know one of the directors lost his wedding ring one time. I've heard they've since stopped doing the trips after someone accidentally hurt their foot but I look back on those memories with such fondness. So happy you got to kayak on the little miami this year!! I also one year walked a half-marathon with a couple of friends called Queen City 5K, which has already happened this year, but is certainly something you could sign up for next year. Anyways, my summer highlights were: spending my time at a state park close to where I was this summer right along lake erie, taking an impromptu trip to niagara falls with a friend who has never been that close to another country before, and actually taking time to visit friends who were nearby!!
I have started taking a lot of walks lately too! They are so good for your mental health and there is always something new to see in nature, new buildings developing and sometimes cool people to talk to!
My summer highlight is buying a bike and then going for joy rides around neighborhoods/trails. Grass is green where you water it, and let me just say that you don’t need a grandiose summer vacation to find fun and explorative vibes🤠
ahh I love winter but Im so excited for summer (australian so still kinda cold here at the moment). outdoor activities are the best. I miss the beach!!! much sailing and kayaking and just walking around being outside to be done this summer I cant wait

This summer I went to a park about an hour from home where the edge of the tectonic plate has lifted and the EARTH'S MANTLE is exposed. I also went back to the dog-friendly resort on the coast where we stay in a cabin overlooking an estuary. At home I spent as much time outside as the weather permitted and racked up more than 40 birds on the Merlin app, which is like Pokemon Go with no fighting and with real birds. I took A LOT of pictures of strange and beautiful things. I got into making cyanotypes. I've been using my clothesline a lot more this summer, too.
being a summer girl myself I completely understand the feeling, spring is about to start in the southern hemisphere and I cannot wait to have picnics in the park, go flower shopping with my boyfriend and overall get inspired by all summer things 🥺✨
I love watching you paint and learn so much about colors and compositions, and you always surprise me with how creative everything is. I love the fluidity of these paint with me videos, it's really easy and cozy to watch 😚

This year I moved into a house with a garden myself, and when we moved, our landlady expressed how disappointed she was in the previous tenants. Seems like they didn't care for the garden like she wanted, they dared to plant stuff other than daffodils, which seems to be what everyone plants in this neighborhood. I've been here since March and I planted some stuff in the back garden, but the front one suddenly had surprise pumpkins, several different mints, rhubarb, lettuce. The landlady will be disappointed, but I couldn't get myself to remove them! I'm loving watching them grow! Sadly I don't think I'll see any fully grown pumpkin, since it's Ireland and there is not enough sun.
This summer has been a bit weird for me, I’ve been getting sick a lot, and my grandpa passed away :( on a brighter note. I started a new job a teaching position! Which has been fun since I’ve never done that. And I’ve also been into walks lately! I am honestly more of a fall girly so I can’t wait for fall :) I am starting to prep for Inktober hehe

I have been fantasizing about moving to a coast or a mountain and grow my own food but that sounds so far away from now. I might plant some aromatics in my home to test it and to feel like I'm not in the middle of a very noisy city
It's almost summer here in NZ but for now, it's spring and the sun has been shining minus a few rains in between, Anyway, I'm looking forward to a warmer climate down the road 😊.
Summer highlight - We moved from Austin, TX, to South Florida - to a beach town! So, I've gone to the beach more times this summer than in the last 5 years.
This summer was a really productive summer for me, I decided to quit my job in June and start focusing on my art again. And since then I've created an in-person popup art shop and an online shop. I'm currently preparing for an art market and hoping to make lots of money off of my work this September! You've also really inspired me to make a youtube channel about my art and so far it's going well, thank you for the inspiration!
Summer highlights inspired by you I have picked up iPad and started illustrating a children’s book. Also started a instagram account! Very dramatic change for me, Turning 59 this week and learning something new is exciting. Also I have two gold fish I’m overly into making a pond for. And like yourself a parrot and a puppy. Just had to tell you thanks for the utube videos.
as a very NOT summer girl i must say i've had a really great summer. truly great; we moved, picked strawberries, bit 'o travel. that being said, everything that happened would have been 3x better if i wasn't sweaty for any of it.
Not been the best summer, my brain has been being a butt for a while, buuuuuut I did spend 10 days at a festival building some beautiful decor and working with lots of new lovely creative people. Spent days in the rain painting signs, sewing, building dens, it was so much fun, and gave my brain a break from all the horribleness :) Hope everyone else has had a lovely summer, sending rainbow hugs all round

here to plant the seed that is: natives!!!! native plants are the best thing ever. best thing for the pollinators. best thing for the soil. they are the most rewarding gardening (imo). it's not hard to find what is native to your zone and many native planters will share free seed or bare-root plants. :~)
I keep toying with the idea of having an art channel, this drawing or whatever & voiceover combo seems like it would be easy. Another thing, it's sad that when people become successful they start to neglect their channel...but I guess it's to be expected.
