I'm not sure what to make of this extremely short documentary about a country with such long and rich history and culture. Firstly, to try to cover every aspect of Iranian politics and society in mere twelve minutes is over-ambitious to say the least. Apart from the documentary being so disjointed, jumping from one topic to a completely different one without any kind of fluency, the video accompanying the narrative was for most part irrelevant and even inaccurate. For example, to explain marriages organised by the government in the Islamic Republic of Iran whilst showing an almost promotional, polished-like clip of Iranian marriage ceremonies you may witness in Western countries is wholly misleading. Not that such lavish ceremonies don't occur in Iran, they're however privately held and not government funded. Also, the bit about official Iranian flag, kept showing clips of current official version with image of tulip in the centre, and that of the outdated one, with image of a lion, belonging to the old regime some 38 years ago. Did non of the researchers and producers spot any of that?! Just as the film claims it's not here to bash anyone or any country, I'm not here to bash this film either. My only request is, if you're presenting something to global audience, make sure it's current as well as accurate. I hope the English course you're promoting for your sponsor is more reliable than this film.

I'm not sure what to make of this extremely short documentary about a country with such long and rich history and culture. Firstly, to try to cover every aspect of Iranian politics and society in mere twelve minutes is over-ambitious to say the least. Apart from the documentary being so disjointed, jumping from one topic to a completely different one without any kind of fluency, the video accompanying the narrative was for most part irrelevant and even inaccurate. For example, to explain marriages organised by the government in the Islamic Republic of Iran whilst showing an almost promotional, polished-like clip of Iranian marriage ceremonies you may witness in Western countries is wholly misleading. Not that such lavish ceremonies don't occur in Iran, they're however privately held and not government funded. Also, the bit about official Iranian flag, kept showing clips of current official version with image of tulip in the centre, and that of the outdated one, with image of a lion, belonging to the old regime some 38 years ago. Did non of the researchers and producers spot any of that?!
Just as the film claims it's not here to bash anyone or any country, I'm not here to bash this film either. My only request is, if you're presenting something to global audience, make sure it's current as well as accurate.
I hope the English course you're promoting for your sponsor is more reliable than this film.

In the next part ( in case you make it ) I recommend you to provide more information about Persian architecture( and the things it has provided to the world), Iranian gardens and the philosophy behind them, Iranian miniatures and Iranian poets and their inspiration for western poets and writers. nuclear energy is also another interesting topic that you can speak about
Some interesting facts about my amazing country: according to the documents found in Persepolis, slavery was banned in Iran and all the workers earned money while slavery was completely legal in other civilisations such as the Roman empire, Greece, Egypt, China, India etc
.Cyrus the great conquered so many civilisations and cities but he never forced his own religion and culture on them and let them have their own beliefs and religion
Zourostian was the first official religion in the world that its followers believed in one god while so many gods and idols were worshipped in other civilisations
