- Hey guys this is how I diagnose an LG French door refrigerator that is not cooling or freezing. this one had a bad compressor. Only authorized service technicians should work on a refrigerator like this working on or taking apart any Appliance exposes you to a shock hazard or injury including death. Always use common sense I am a seasoned professional.

New compressor, programmed, but when started to run, I get no suction change in pressure, 23.4 psig low side, 1.1 amp draw.
@Michael Falvey sounds like a sealed system leak if the compressor is already installed and tested good. These are notorious for evaporator leaks. If you've checked resistance across pins and they're all with in 1 ohms (I believe for LG) could be an inverter board issue. If the compressor doesn't ohm out bad compressor.
I have a 5 year old LG refrigerator that just had the compressor replaced. Refrigerator is cold again (35 degrees) but the bottom freezer is only 22 degrees. He replaced the dryer and the compressor. Also did the controller board update.

@dogwatcher144 There are a couple of things that could be happening. There's a possibility they didn't refill the freon with what is required, and the evaporator in the freezer has a partial frost pattern. It could also be that there's a small restriction somewhere not allowing the freon to flow properly. If the repair just got done in the last few days, it could also mean that you need to wait a little bit longer for the freezer to reach the lower temperatures. Usually I would tell customers to wait about 72 hours after those type of repairs before they start loading the freezer. I would say put a plastic water bottle in the freezer and see if it freezes.
You are SUCH a blessing!!! I was literally in tears that my fridge almost identical to this one was no longer cooling nor freezing. Literally one day from the next. I couldn’t get that panel off in the back of the freezer, so I just went directly to the back of the fridge and my husband and I noticed that the fan wasn’t moving at all. My husband is a European mechanic so he did this really neat trick where he just tapped the fan and got it working again. But of course we’re thinking that eventually it will need to be replaced. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video because these new refrigerators are no joke! You have no idea how much money you just saved us! I’m very much “team do it myself before I pay someone” 😂

I believe most serial numbers only have a 10 year warranty on the compressor and nothing else. You have to call LG directly and see if yours is one of the ones that has a warranty on the compressor

Having issues with my french door LG fridge. 6 years old. I hear warranty is good for 10 years on compressor. To cover warranty do I have to buy a new motherboard with the new compressor at the same to to cover warranty?
I have 10 years compressor warranty if it’s a failure of sealed system is this part of the warranty?
So my fridge and freezer is not cooling compressor is running but the copper tubing is barely warm do you think Compressor is not running properly?

My compressor is REALLY HOT when I touch it. Fridge stopped working. Idk why. The compressor turns on for only 10secs and then turns off. This is after I unplugged for about 20 mins
