- Today we take a look at MG Motor UK Ltd, HQ, Main Gate, Lowhill Lane, Longbridge, Birmingham, B31 2BQ.
We have a good look from the ground with the zoom camera and then get ready to take the drone up when staff arrive asking us not to.

And they wonder why they do not make their cars in the UK anymore? With people like this, it was only ever doomed to failure.
It was Communism that stopped car production.
Absolutely. Those two berks and their attitude were beamed straight in from the days when our car industry collapsed. I wouldn’t want to drive anything they built either.
I heard Enzo Ferrari was an Ahole but everyone loves his Cars
This is true....the rot set in years ago ...my friend went for an interview in 1968 at Ford moter company dagenham ..the tour guide spent 40 minutes outlining and explaining why "THE WORKERS" could not use the managers restaurant...
Companies that sell out their founding nation to China should be closed down quickly.
Employees of a company that shows no respect, loyalty or interest in their long term futures, worry about some guy flying a drone over "their" plant! They want to protect a company that removed all construction and long term investment from the area. It's just sad really. An interesting video and look at human psychology. Thanks DJ
another fine example of how that saying about folks being dropped on their heads as babies is not just apocryphal.
they dont work for mg, they are demolition peopel not wanting joe public to know they are earning millions from the site that was funded by public money.... every penny from this site should be going back to government as government put a shed load of public money into this place when it was british leyland.. but the lazy useless workers still didnt actually want to do any work for a living..
If you didn't know already, this site was the home of British Leyland. One of the biggest car makers in the UK. The original Mini, the Metro and all Rovers were made there. Most of the land is sold now for housing. The "Bridge" as you call it used to go over the A38 to the other site.
Your looking at what's left of the Pride of British motoring..... those 2 idiots are a great reflection as to why it all ended...
They're not 'idiots' they're doing their job. British motoring ended because MG was in ruins with tonnes of debt. It's also ridiculous to say this is why it all ended when they're clearly working on what is left. If they weren't working, there would be absolutely nothing left.
@@cliffdmb1237 BL/Rover ended for many and complex reasons. It's clear looking at the site its finished.... like the rest, it'll soon be turned into houses. I live in the area, my Grandfather (who worked there) told me many stories of the 'antics' and stupidly of both workers/union and Management.
Those to 'idiots' epitomised both. They attitude, given they were objecting to filming a "junk yard" was classic "old" Rover worker style......
My issue it that it does upset me, seeing such an important, iconic and historic place in the state it's in. I remember the site I it's full glory and am deeply saddened to what it has become:( I suspect on my last point, we can agree...
MG don't manufacture in the UK.
So clever…..the way you have them on the end of your hook. Pop ‘em in the keep net like good little fishies 🎣🎣
Those 2 blokes in the Black car were a right laugh weren't they 🤔😂😁👍

"If there was a man I could dream of
I'd dream about a dream come true
If there was a man I could ever love
I'd wait a million years for someone just like you
All my life I have been belated
Never taking any chances, always hesitating
Where's the payoff? Where's the glory?
Where's the one I'm holding out for
When's he walking through the door
The one that you walked through
If he isn't you
If there was a man I could dream of
I'd dream about a dream come true
If there was a man I could ever love
I'd wait a million years for someone just like you

I wish it would be
Someone who could love me too

Fly your drone over my house I’ll pull my pants down and give you a full moon 😂😂
Saw that site in 1976. Was massive back then. The British car manufacturers were the architects of their own misfortunes with a lack of quality control, warmed over designs, and unions. All gone now.
Aswell as government backed car making in Europe. German and French companies always had guarantees from the government that they would cover the loses.
Yeah it sucks when companies aren’t smart enough to make money without exploiting workers.

Fascinating site to visit and see by drone! Thanks DJ 👍⭐⭐⭐
The 1948 aerial image and 1930s-50s OS maps show the current facility was a large circular track with several radial strips, buildings added in the 1960s and now the concrete foundations seen in drone footage.
Longbridge Motor Works used to be a much larger site covering area to the north. At 13:00 the housing estate and retail area (white triangular building) and earthwork to the left were all part of the Longbridge Motor Works. Early 1930s the Longbridge Works about 1/4 size at its peak and the circular test track added.
The 1914-16 OS map shows the land was agricultural. Area of current earthworks was part of Longbridge Pumping Station for Birmingham Water Works historically.
It was the same story in Scotland with different plants in the sixties. All houses now.
Should have asked about the tunnel’s underneath. I think they used them to build aircraft , ( spitfires ,?) during the war. Apparently there’s still old cars and bits of cars down there.
They're testing the performance of cars during The Apocalypse!🤣
It looks like 28 Days Later or The Walking Dead could have been filmed here.
🤣🤣No wonder that revolting old man abandoned his career as a UN negotiator.
And his slightly younger husband was equally appalling. I think hubby thought 'bombastic' means confident, and he's such a feeble little chap himself he doesn't like confidence in others.
That was masterly DJ, a perfect audit, and a lovely film too, thank you.
That white car with the film covered on it, that is the film they use for new body shape cars so that people taking photos or seeing them testing on the road can't quite make out how the final design will look 👍
Could build a nice stadium there now no industry is taking place
see Land Rovers in that livery all the time around our way, usually towing trailers too.
Can you imagine how busy this site was back in the day . Another lost industry 😢
So funny they don’t want any photography for “safety” reasons but they will tell you everything about the place. Lol
DJ AUDITS I like the new calmer manner you have adopted when dealing with these people. clear respectful un flustered and precise....
British comedy gold, ignorance on full show, I loved the "fly anywhere else but not here" definitely concerned about something, but what?
Got some scrap to collect from the plant
2 old age pensioners that still think it's 1975
They were just old and dead set on getting their way
Probably embarressed how all the silly bolshie shennanigans eventually shut the place.
Now whats left is foreighn owned. Britain used to build damn fine cars back in the day too.
They were gradually ruined by the constant bickering between management and union though.
My late old man had Austins and Hillmans, good vehicles in their day.
One of my first vehicles was an Austin Champ. You cannot buy a vehicle with a genuine Rolls Desighned Military Engine for that kind of money anymore fifteen hundred quid to the taxpayer in 1951 200 to you in 1972 with 25000 on the clock. Cylinder Head not to be removed before 100thousand miles. Vehicle like that nowadays would cost one hundred grand. No vat or purchase tax in 1951 either.
I thought they were part assembled there and not even the staff know! Thank you for the informative video and clearing things up DJ!
looks like it has been gutted, bit like England as a whole..
Well said. Britain is closed, finished, kaput.
I live in Manchester. This city is and busier more affluent than ever.

@@escapetheratracenow9883- I don't know where you live but I feel sorry for you. It's not like that where I live.
I love how much information you actually managed to get out of them.
They were keeping tight lipped 😂
the reason they could not give information is because they dont know any, they just work for the firm demolishing it....... i bet they do earna nice few quid selling scrap on the sly and dont want some bloke witha drone seeing just how much going out.. the lorry going out would of been good to follow and see what comes out of that......
3:50, silver car under a cover, it’s not an MG, it’s a 3 series BMW 😉
By the way, you’re very bombastic DJ😂😂😂
Never heard of it myself either, I’ve heard of the song boombastic, but that’s about it 😂
I bet the CEO of MG doesn’t realise old man and his puppet have become spokespeople of the whole company 🤣
Hey DJ Audits! I just watched your video about flying drones over MG Motor UK Ltd, and I have to say, the behavior of the individuals involved seems quite babyish. It's disappointing to see staff members asking you not to fly the drone when you were simply trying to capture footage. It's important for companies to be open to transparency and not react in such a defensive manner. It's also disheartening to hear SteveB's comment about why cars are no longer made in the UK, as it reflects a negative attitude towards constructive criticism. Keep up the good work in documenting your experiences and showcasing transparency in your videos. Looking forward to more interesting content from you!
The 68 Plate Car you refer to is a prototype under camouflage
Their secret being that despite their claims. Absolutely nothing is happening on that site.
SET OF BALL BAGS ? ? ?WTF..
Mr Bombastic 😂. Can't get that tune out my head now 😂
Same 😂
DJ played them two like a fiddle 😂
I visited Longbridge in its heyday (well, in the early 80s, so perhaps past its best!) and we had a tour of the facilities. I was working for a parts manufacturer. Sad to see so much of it flattened now.
It looks like Chernobyl from above 😂 DJ you are on fire at the moment, that break really did you well.✌️
Your not too shabby yourself !!!
I dont usually get into all that, "TIME TO FLY"!
How would Shanghai Auto Industry Corp survive without these highly skilled British engineers to develop their new models at the Longbridge high tech facility.. makes you proud it does.
😂😂😂
I drive a mg zs a 23 reg got it from new and the design is the only thong they do there and the cars before full production have what they call a spy proof car the one dj says looks battered it's not the marking they they cover them up with . Mg have 3 new cars out one def in 2024 the new mg zs petrol and ev and some new models.
Mr Bombastic! - Lol. Well done DJ. I used to deliver here in the final years before they went bust and it was full of people idling and tossing it off. The majority of the machining equipment and assembly line were dismantled and shipped to China, they produce nothing at this site now.
cent be bad getting paid to be tossing off , bit worried who "it" was though 🤣
I would have just started laughing at these bozos.
We were

@@philiprufus4427 I'm with ya mate. Self titled 'important people' are a laugh a minute.
I was thinking of buying a brand new MG when I retire in a couple of years, but not now after those 2 tossers.
Leyland lads still hanging in there 😂 Geniuses
Wow! Top secret MG plant! That's what its like in China!
Everything that was on the empty concrete was shipped over to China. Not just the production machines - everything. All the buildings including the windows, out houses, kitchens and canteens, wash basins, electrical switches, plug sockets, lights and even the wires and the conduits. It was rebuilt to see how it operated then a brand new facillity was built next door.
Love how you run rings around them without them even knowing....
Exposing the global industrial complex is not a crime. Keep up the good work.
Was considering buying an MG next week. Was a toss-up between the two. Thanks for making my decision easier DJ. Hint… it now isn’t the MG. LOL
Yeah, sure you were 🖕🏻
mg now is owned by saic a chinease comapny and an absolute nightmare for repairs and parts currently
No wonder they didn't want a drone over DJ, it looks like a movie set from an action blockbuster..
Good video again DJ 😊
I went round here as a visitor when I was an apprentice in 2002, it was an operational production line then in what I guess are the now demolished buildings. Very sad for British manufacturing.
Haha “over your house” I love that verbal Bu S . They think they’re so original.
MG’s parent company is SAIC, and although quite large is only the 7th largest car manufacturer!
Hi DJ …. Adam Adams here. Hope you’re ok. That’s Gary Egan & his puppet Pete I used to work there years ago but the place has gone to the dogs. They do a bit of sales, engine tests & design work. But the place will be demolished soon. In a couple of the buildings if they are still there all the tools, paperwork etc… is left like it was on the day they closed the factory in 2005. Quite sad really. Great video though.
Derek Robinson (1927-2017) "Red Robbo", a British communist, human rights activist and trade unionist was involved in approximately 523 car factory strikes between 1978 and 1979, the then government-owned British Leyland attributed the 523 disputes to Robinson, the factory convenor at Longbridge. You can see inside the ruined and destrioyed plant in The Chemical Brothers - Believe (Official Music Video)
that 68 plate mg from my guess was a sort off prototype that when manufacturers take there cars to testing grounds for r&d they cover them in silly patterns etc so people cant clearly define its looks, styling or make ( does not work to well on some vehicles google prototype ferrari lamborghini etc spotted). but just started watching and have you set to play all at work so im getting through them all :D
We live on such an angry little island full of angry little people :)
We really do and it makes me so sad
Sad to see what's happened to MG cars I've got two mgs a 1959 &1961 both in A1 condition and puts a smile on my face every time I drive them don't think the new cars will last as long DJ
Ive got it, the hidden caravan in the corner, its where the security gurds live, its their house & they dont want you over it. You bad boy DJ.
20:20 he was a nice chap
trying to make his way in the world with what looks like a successful business
best of luck to him
Can you fly around Marina's in the UK? that would make for some amazing footage.
Statler and Waldorf are alive and well 😂
Outstanding Comment !
Two Brummie dunces worried about spying working for the Chinese 🤣🤯🤣
Not usually a fan of this kind of content at all but this showed some interesting history and prototype cars... The 2 security blokes were so standoffish yet ended up giving up so much info 😂 Credit where it's due 👍
When I saw those two in the car, I thought I had tuned in to an old episode of, steptoe & son 😂😂😂
People always get defensive and nervous when they have something to hide!
The old crones got their knickers in a knot over some derelict buildings and some scrap cars? 🙈
So sad to see how much has changed except for Gary, the guy in the car lol
The green car looks to be a prototype mold 👍
Sad to see how our car industry was destroyed.
Lol funny but good
It looks like a rogue airport parking company. Nobody operating within the law would be so adamant that they don't want a drone seeing what they're doing.
I'm impressed how long you kept the wide leg stance for.
I pass nearby that site most days to visit family. The new MG ev's are great cars and well priced. Its sad that the vehicles are not assembled there anymore, but the damage was done decades ago. To me, the site seems like a trophy of days gone by and for the uneducated eye, people probably assume that vehicles are still assembled there? Good vid.
Why do so many people compare their office with their house? Do they live under their desk or?
No wonder M.G. is a world power in car manufacturers..KNOBS
The clown in passenger seat just had to have his 15 minutes
I'm so glad you came over near where I live. You imma go look for the key ring tomorrow! There's so many cool places to go to near Longbridge. Try the Birmingham training ground for the Birmingham football team ❤
They call him Mr Bombastic, Dave is fantastic................🎶🎵🎶
They were trying to spin you a Shaggy dog story if you ask me.
Hi DJ. Do you have multiple pairs of green adidas trousers or have you worn the same pair for every audit for four years plus? I am thinking of buying some but wondering if they get worn when riding bikes around.
I am glad you like my uniform. 💚
Soon as the driver said ‘ never mind ‘…. I’d have walked away and just carried on flying the drone….
The blue car at 3:20 is the Rover TCV concept car, there was recently three other MGF concept cars out in that car park. The green & red one next to it is I believe an MG3 race car. at 3:08 you can also just see a silver car next to the red MG3, that is an MGF Coupe, another design concept car. the RDX60 is also there.
Takes me back to my days working in that location. Cab 1 and Cab 2. Left in 1991 with VR
I had an MGBGT back in the day lovely car.
DJ, you asked where does the bridge take you, & you replied nowhere. Well after that encounter with thoise guys in the car you could have used poetic licence & said, bridge over troubled water.
Don’t tell him anything Bob.
Keep them talking and they’ll tell you everything. 😆
Dj just an update you could fit 44 football pitches inside rover when it was open up till around 2005 . But it was all manual. No robots as take land rover they cut the size of the Solihull plant from when I worked there from around 35,000 staff down to around 3500 staff now as it's all health and safety now as that's how my back went. But the guys car there are in is the mg hs the biggest they make. Mines the zs a bit smaller than that same engine but a tine bit smaller. Hope it helps .also theres a new car company called byd theyhavr been out in china a few yers but they only make ev cars and they have juat oened a new show room think its coventry its called byd the car make
Loved the hand out the window. Pair of dense candidates sat in a time warp. Waste of oxygen. They can’t spend much on R and D they drive like a go kart on a milk float chassis.
Looks like hes washed his car with a brick 😂
I wouldn't describe DJ as 'bombastic' there is a method in his madness and his does talk sense (well most of the time lol)
DJ are you considering doing any locations in Scotland in the future? Would love to see some up this way
Apparently the site is going to becomes a housing estate with a few buildings (including the Roundhouse) preserved.
Bloody good video DJ loved the drone footage👍👍
Don’t buy an MG it’s one of the hardest cars to get parts for. I had an MG6 and it was a nightmare.
Someone was outside our house yesterday with a drone. They flew it. I was fascinated but didn't go out to ask. I was watching/curtain twitching lol. It was obvious he was using the drone to inspecting a neighbours roof. I wonder how much that costs ? I will look it up. It was a house up for sale so I am thinking the buyer wanted a full survey.
DJ, could you come and fly over my house ?
No I need to watch your video DJ, pressing
Virtual 🔑💍in mind as always, thank you Sir ! 😆 Am I still the only one to have one from you ?
the 68 plate car is not painted, it has been wrapped and it's not looking too good. It's all pealing off. Don't wrap your cars. Sticks and stone will hurt it.
No wonder they don't want anyone to see it, it's an absolute dump. PJ has shown far better cared for recycling facilities than this eye sore. What on Earth goes on there ? MG, you need to do better, get a gardener in at least.
Congratulations on an excellent video production. What you have achieved in a few minutes is a picture of the whole of GB. A derelict abandoned carved out wasted land that has been sold to anyone with enough money to satisfy the avarice of the City of London lawyers. In one word the manufacturing potential of our country is: Finished. Well done, onwards and upwards.
Very well said!
America is just as bad.
A fake circus of money laundering, insider trading, gambling, and warmongering.
There is very little going on there as just look at the amount of workers cars there. & i dont think Longbridge ever had a test track.
The driver of the car has been there forever, always claiming that the site is super busy. He must have delusional glasses, because the last time that site was busy was around March 2005.
These two in the car are Comedy Central the gift that keeps on giving with all that security they probably have a wacky backy plant running.
"Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" and for a Brummie the highest form of complement?....LOL
So much to comment on here!.....That site DOES NOT manufacture or even assemble any vehicles. It is a UK HQ for MG, and a vehicle storage site. The old man is lying. Why I don't know! The tatty looking white car is covered in camouflage tape, to make it difficult for spy photographers to make out any definitive detail whilst the car is being tuned for UK roads.
At the far fence there is a green vehicle facing away from the fence (next to an MG3 with MG on the roof), which is the Rover RDX 60 prototype. It's over 10 yrs old now, and really should have been gifted to the British Motor Museum at Gaydon along with 3 or 4 other prototypes MG still are holding onto, like the silver one off MG TF Coupe.
The very light blue car on the end is a wind tunnel or styling model . The blue car near the trees at the top, is the Rover TCV prototype/ final styling model. The long wheelbase Rover 75 (black car, side on view) is very rare. SAIC is the parent company to MG.
"Shall we move out of the way of the vehicle?"..."No".....I'd call that arrogant and/or......bombastic!
How bombastic of you to point out to empirically obvious fact that the bridge goes nowhere…!👀🙄🧐😎😜
I find these videos to be depressing. It doesn't seem to matter how much information about the law is shared, public ignorance always grows faster than public education.
Public ignorance grows faster than public education, man, that is well put and so true.
PLEASE one day do a video, mon ami, of your bicycle...and maybe the store/company where you purchased same. PRETTY PLEASE !?
Keep on missing the timing on the duck races
A lot of security for cars. Although they had a few evergreen containers going in and out, and we all know what they are synonymous with.
Birmingham used to be known as the City of a thousand trades, apart from the Jewellery Quarter maybe, you'd be hard pushed to find one trade existing in Birmingham nowadays.
