Pearl's gemstone placement doesn't correspond with pink diamond's but it's on the same place as white diamond's. In real life Pink Diamonds are pretty interesting. Most Gems get their color from the minerals that they are exposed to when they form, if the Minerals in a Corundum crystal makes it Red then we call it a Ruby, and if they make it Blue it's a Sapphire. This same thing applies to Blue and Yellow Diamonds but not White Diamond as we can assume she's pure Carbon making her gemstone completely clear, but Pink Diamonds do not get their color from the minerals in them, Pink Diamonds are just regular pure carbon diamonds that came out a little weird. Their atomic crystal structure is a little bit wonky so they end up reflecting light in a way that makes them look Pink.

I think that pink was originally powerful enough to rival and threaten white considering that white and pink both have the classic diamond shaped gems. This would explain why she is abnormally smaller as perhaps white and pink had some sort of struggle and white altered her. I don't believe the pink diamond mural theory is correct because when pearl 'shattered' Pink, PD was in her normal size and in 'the origins' pearl showed a holographic version of PD talking to the amethyst while remaining her same size suggesting this is how she interacts. Yellow could be an off color too. Yellow Diamonds are created when nitrogen gets into the diamond matrix. Blue and Pink colors are created by pressure.

In real life Pink Diamonds are pretty interesting. Most Gems get their color from the minerals that they are exposed to when they form, if the Minerals in a Corundum crystal makes it Red then we call it a Ruby, and if they make it Blue it's a Sapphire. This same thing applies to Blue and Yellow Diamonds but not White Diamond as we can assume she's pure Carbon making her gemstone completely clear, but Pink Diamonds do not get their color from the minerals in them, Pink Diamonds are just regular pure carbon diamonds that came out a little weird. Their atomic crystal structure is a little bit wonky so they end up reflecting light in a way that makes them look Pink.
The primary colours of light are different to the normal primary colours. So Yellow Blue and Pink are all the secondary colours Yellow being Yellow Blue being Cyan and Pink being Magenta.

I was actually hella confused when I watched this too.
I think that pink was originally powerful enough to rival and threaten white considering that white and pink both have the classic diamond shaped gems. This would explain why she is abnormally smaller as perhaps white and pink had some sort of struggle and white altered her. Maybe because of this white was damaged in the process and has taken the form of the cracked white pearl, which explains the crack and why white’s diamond is not visible and why she never leaves homeworld and is almost completely unavailable to the other diamonds
This might explain why yellow got so angry when the diamonds were accused of shattering pink

I don't believe the pink diamond mural theory is correct because when pearl 'shattered' Pink, PD was in her normal size and in 'the origins' pearl showed a holographic version of PD talking to the amethyst while remaining her same size suggesting this is how she interacts. I think the mural is just that a mural. Throughout history paintings always have a message in them to tell their audience. The Diamonds murals are supposed to tell the gems that these are their rulers, these deities are immortals and show how much power they have(The angular edges emphasis power).
