It’s still mostly based off of the game concepts that that defined 3rd through 7th edition with a slight sprinkling of “stratagems” in the form of the Horus Heresy reaction system with one reaction in each phase of the game with maybe one more in x phase depending upon warlord traits
I'm 20 minutes in and you guys havent even deployed yet. The anticipation is killing me! But seriously, I love the pre-game explain because as someone who's never played Heresey it's great to know how stuff works. It will make the nect 2 hours significantly more enjoyable! Also, its just fun hearing you guys yarn about your armies.
Ooh now this is what heresy is all about for me, large forces, massive waescapes, this is the stuff that evokes the scale of that period. Looking forward to viewing this one!
Always love to see the glorious 3rd Legion out and about. Although I'm only 21:22 into the video, much like the Emperor's Children having a victory feast before deploying, I'm going to congratulate you on another glorious victory. Surely there can be no other outcome...
For the Neutron Laser beam at 28:00. You only take a glancing hit from Gets hot if you role a 1 or 2 after rolling the initial 1. I thought the same thing when I used mine.
As a loyalist World Eaters player I'm Glad to know some War Hounds made a dent in the traitor on instivaan. Hell of a gam e love these bigger Horus heresy games would like to see more, it gets so intense with what can be brought past 3k.
For the world eaters warlord trait, it’s not an additional attack, it’s an additional point of strength “When a Warlord with this Trait, and all models with the Legiones Astartes (World Eaters) special rule in a unit that it has joined, gain a bonus attack from the Violence Incarnate clause of the Legiones Astartes (World Eaters) special rule they also gain +1 Strength for the remainder of that turn. In addition, an army whose Warlord has this Trait may make an additional Reaction during the opposing player’s Assault phase as long as the Warlord has not been removed as a casualty.”
So you gain +1 from the charge, +1 from violence incarnate, and with the warlord trait you gain +1 strength in addition to the +1 attack from violence incarnate. Should also note that red butchers don’t have furious charge(rampagers do). They do have Hatred(everything) though!
Sad for the Cerberus - Gets Hot on vehicles makes you roll another d6, you only lose the wound on a 1-2 on that second dice, key protection for the laser tank!
Excellent game! A homebrew rule my group use is that Gets hot! Is a separate role, akin to how hazardous works in 40k. It isn't as dangerous for multi shot weapons but at least there's no way to re-roll and it speeds up the game significantly. We also made it so that you can't split up wounds in a unit, if a character is allocated wounds it has to keep saving for that phase.
Epic! I like those big reports most of all! But (spoilers): Eaters player was veeery unlucky with dice, and looks like much less experienced : ) Like and comment anyway as usual
Here is the actual problem with Red Butchers and why they are probably the worst terminator unit in 2.0. 1) They lost FnP6+ for no reason 2) Ravening madmen is a shit rule through and through, all the bonus of being WS5 are negated as they are always hit on 3s. The bonus to this -1 str on the incoming attack doesn't matter as what are they usually fighting......other terminators. So WS 4 legion termis, hit them on 3s, wound on 2s and are still instakilling. Meanwhile your butchers are hitting on 3s or 4s (hatred everything is nice) but wounding on 3s with their power axes and not instakilling. The only upside to the unit is the sgt. the rest of the unit is just a delivery mechanism to get that sgt. with 6-7 thunderhammer attacks into combat, they are just ablative wounds. All the reasons why they were good in 1.0 now make them shit in 2.0. Also while lightning claws are a cool option, they just cost too much for a squad which is going to be pulverized by units which are cheaper than them. Hard pass Also, Phoenix terminators are the best terminator unit in 2.0. Not because of their killing potential but because of skill unmatched being able to tarpit any unit in the game making them hit you on 5s or sometimes 6s is just silly
Does Sonic Shriekers work against Red Butchers? I thought it didn't work against units that were immune to Fear? Pretty sure they don't work against the special Salamander Terminator guys for the same reason, but I'm not too knowledgable about Heresy.
It's only cavalry that Fall Back 3D6. If I remember rightly, Jump/Jet packs did also fall back that far in the previous edition, but it changed with the new rules
This is the guy that makes the dice.. and all the terrian... oh yeah he knows how to work some silicone & it just now hit me.. I bet half that WE army is re- casted! Hell yeah brother that's what's up!! F-em fr though, my ultimate flex will be to order a kit pour a quick mold for it & then send it back for a full refund.
This is the first batrep I've seen of heresy and man what nostalgia the rules sound like what they were when I first discovered 40k as a kid
Bring back initiative to 40k!

I'm loving hersey, I love playing with winters, such a great game

19:30 I like that Winters explains James' army to him. Great looking armies and board, and the sportsmanship is on point.
I like that winters explains my army to me, I know what they do but he's so on the rules and it was gonna be a long game lol
Res butts don't have furious charge. They make enemies fight at -1 strength and are treated as ws3 when being attacked. They are quite bad😅
it makes me happy seeing eidolon cut in half
I'm never gonna see the end of this batrep because I keep falling asleep. -_- why is this content so relaxing.
Saw 4500 points and got gassed

I love these massive battles.
I'm all about the big games. Might organise an apocalypse scale event for hh soon
Ooooh, I’ve been waiting for this one! Bring it on! 💪

Seeing him do this was driving me nuts, play death guard alchem flame tanks so gets hot is well known.
Love seeing some Horus Heresy content guys, wicked stuff, please keep it up!
As a loyalist World Eaters player I'm Glad to know some War Hounds made a dent in the traitor on instivaan. Hell of a gam e love these bigger Horus heresy games would like to see more, it gets so intense with what can be brought past 3k.
Great battlerep! I was building a HH Imperial fist army, but now having seen your Emperors children... that purple is so nice
I know for obvious reasons you cant do these battles often but its very fun seeing all the points vs all the points mini-armageddon style
For the world eaters warlord trait, it’s not an additional attack, it’s an additional point of strength
“When a Warlord with this Trait, and all models with the Legiones Astartes (World Eaters) special rule in a unit that it has joined, gain a bonus attack from the Violence Incarnate clause of the Legiones Astartes (World Eaters) special rule they also gain +1 Strength for the remainder of that turn. So happy seeing you playing 30k again. Keep it up!
Man please show us a painting tutorial on your emperors children. That purple looks great and how you do that platinum is amazing
Loving the HH battles, always great to see some World Eaters
Representing the angry madmen
Sad for the Cerberus - Gets Hot on vehicles makes you roll another d6, you only lose the wound on a 1-2 on that second dice, key protection for the laser tank!
I remember you showing me a few of the emperors children when I saw you in Heathrow. 😁
Hey buddy. It's grown since then. Lol
@@wintersSEO the army looks amazing :)
@@sonofbaal40k83Thank you
So good, loved it ❤
Wow! Absolutely stunning game!
25:00 Jumpacks only move 12 unless its a corvid jumppack they move 14
Thanks Winters.

Let's gooooooo this one is gonna be huge
Im going to honest. This might have been one of my favorite battles. This is where I started running Javalins in my World Eaters
Epic! I like those big reports most of all!
But (spoilers):
Eaters player was veeery unlucky with dice, and looks like much less experienced : )
Like and comment anyway as usual
Does James have an Instagrm? I'd love to see more of his World Eaters
That Veteran better get some kind of promotion

How are they getting instakilled with -1 strength? What termis are you facing that are s9-10?
That veteran was a true son of fulgrim.
Comic-Book Guy from The Simpsons has a sick World Eaters Army… feels like he doesn’t play much though…
Do you prefer Heresy or 40K 10th edition rule set at the moment?
They both have their merits
Does Sonic Shriekers work against Red Butchers? I thought it didn't work against units that were immune to Fear? Pretty sure they don't work against the special Salamander Terminator guys for the same reason, but I'm not too knowledgable about Heresy.
If they have fearless, then yes.
Glorious armies 😁
Istvaan 3 games are my favorite matchups.
The double-1’s!
Anyone know where his dragons teeth come from?
Where is a good place to order terrain in the US? Does anyone know?
Thought it was just gonna be the 3 Dreads and a tank
HH is so much better than top trumps...a mean 10th editon
Great game! Doesn't the WE Praetor fall back 3d6 because of his jump pack? Not too big of a deal.
I don't think so. Unless you have a page reference or something. Cheers.
It's only cavalry that Fall Back 3D6. If I remember rightly, Jump/Jet packs did also fall back that far in the previous edition, but it changed with the new rules
1:03:20 .... A World Eater's Praetor that FALLS BACK? What kind of fluff crunch cognitive dissonance is this?
Sometimes its best to withdraw when your squad gets wiped out. World eaters aren’t lemmings that march to their deaths like guardsmen after all
Great game! Commenting so hopefully more poeple see it.
Thank you
This is the guy that makes the dice.. and all the terrian... oh yeah he knows how to work some silicone & it just now hit me.. I bet half that WE army is re- casted! Hell yeah brother that's what's up!!

someone PLEASE get the WE player some new dice!! D:
