Is there a company that does this outside of Chicago? Say in Silicon Valley, CA or anywhere in CA? I would love to know so I can share with friends & family.... we have way too many out of date computers sitting around.
That is good if they just melt it down and release the toxic exhumes. Chances are used electronics are fulled with components that have leeched chemicals after have been bombarded with photons for many years. Components such as plastic cases, electronic resistors, chips, and other things susceptible to "flammable" are full with fire retardants that were spray on/applied in mass production facility that are just toxic in high concentration.
@hitachi088 hey its good they dont know what they are talking about just means when if any of them ever want to try and get any info they will go for the cpu and not the harddisk
Nup its the Central Processing Unit anyway temorary storage is the RAM notthe cpu the cpu processes the data like it calculates what 1+1= it's the brain well the storage is the hard drive so its a bit diffrent to human
This is why you have to killdisk your old hard drive before you remotely think about tossing the computer out, if you don't know what i'm talking about, do ur research. All i'm saying is, do a killdisk and do 3 passes on the drive, that should be more then sufficient anymore is overkill. Better yet if you wanna do a military killdisk, you'll need to killdisk your drive 32 times.
I was unaware information can be saved on my processor! Clearly this apparently very reputable man is correct, Ill just throw away this clunky SSD right now
Don't give nothing to those guys semester get a trade you cash recycler yourself and come out for some cash in your pocket and in that stuff over to them is just given them free cash keep the cash in your pocket
Maybe work in the industry for a while. You cannot give away CRT monitors or tv's. Nobody wants them. The poor want flat screen tv's not crts. I own an ewaste facility and wish people would take working tv's.
No gloves, No face masks, and smashing IC's and Capacitors with Hammers??? Are you kidding? this company will face "class action" in a few years. Do some research on what makes up the components you are smashing here!
Yeah, recycled electronics are not good since it is more toxic than the newly made products, unless it have been scrapped and remade, then maybe, maybe!!

What? I don't think you understood what he said.

they forgot to say computers also contain gold silver and platinum as well as lead!!!!
Must apply for a job here!

Can you have machine gold recover from computer parts
May as well as pour concrete on it and make rocks out of it, just to be safe. I mean it came from mines and probably from rocks anyway, right?
If you can find enough computers in the trash then hell yea!

YEAH They make millions and we save the planet :D
Well everything has its time what people say i do agree with you though
I got a windows 98 laptop $1 second hand works

Who needs RAM or a hard drive when you can save it on your CPU...
i would sell those electronics or keep them
broken microwaves = makeshift arc welders lmfao
i don't know if its revers manufacturer like e said personally i wouldn't put in a cpu with a hammer
funny how they dont mention all the gold they extract.. then ppl might not give them the scrap for free

wow perpetuating free gold silver platinum and palladium!!!!
orido ma3lomat katira 3an hada
i am aware you know what a processor actually is...
Why not just fix them?
I could do that for a living! Break stuff up with a hammer!

lol
@nagaempress Your going to be bored.
I think they do it better in China of course. I saw a video of etrash recycling done there and that made me sick, until I saw this!
@G0ttaBeFresh really? :D free gold from the trash!
