    *This battery reconditioning program exceeded my presumptions. It worked on any drill battery, several AA and AAA batteries, **batery.repair** and any camera battery. The steps are simple and the act itself is exciting to do. No matter what type of battery you`ve got, it is sure to function again!*

    I just now was reading up on lead recycling; one thing I saw, in poor countries, were where peoole were doing this process "informally", pretty much in their backyards...
    Suffice to say, seeing a plant where the soil is safe around it, where the workers wear ample protection at all times while handling the lead, and where most of the dangerous work is done by machines... It just feels extremely reassuring.

    Making use of the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxcJ22tnHH9l1vjdIdEIG27iOG55P7LXI8 reconditioning plan, I just saved 2 auto batteries from being completely junked. The guides were very simple to follow. I wish I would have found this years ago! You may use the guide to recondition any battery type

    Actually I work for one of these plants in the US and the process is amazing. The treatment to meet customer specifications demands a lot of knowledge and concentration because if you want to reduce costs you have to control temperature and consume constantly... IT'S AWESOME!!!

    @Andreask93 Metallic lead is not so bad because the body has a harm time absorbing it. On the other hand, lead compounds such as lead salts are much more easily taken into the body and can cause all kinds of problems.

    I am chemist and have worked with some really damned nasty crap (chromium compounds, extremely caustic/acidic/oxidizing substances like Piranha solution etc) but would absolutely hate to work in a place like this. The lead exposure in some of those jobs must be very high, and I'd want at least 1-monthly blood tests to monitor my lead blood levels.
    Also how about the guy in that pit of batteries driving the excavator thing? I wonder how he likes breathing acid vapors all day.

    That is not correct, these buildings operate under a negative pressure and all the air is filtered through sophisticated bag houses to capture and purify as much airborne pollutants as possible. I have visited this plant and its truly amazing, everything is recycled including the acid which is recaptured and used for laundry detergent additives and converted to sodium salts, and the plastics too.

    @drdeathkwp So you're saying that lithium ion batteries cant be recycled?

  • @OffGridInvestor
    @OffGridInvestor 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I question "99% of lead" being recycled. MANY MANY things with small sealed batteries just completely go into landfill with the batteries still in them. not to mention the solder in electronics, although there is a major shift to lead free solder esp. because the EU won't allow importation of electronics that DOESN'T have lead free solder.

    • @drpawnkwp
      @drpawnkwp 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Link Knight The recycle rate for batteries in the USA is about 99.5%.

    • @OffGridInvestor
      @OffGridInvestor 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill Clinton Car batteries and the like. But tell me HOW MANY yuppies go and take the back off these rechargeable lanterns and kids toys to rip the SLA batteries out? there is a very low recycle rate here in australia. in fact people throw lead acid batteries out on the side of the road, and TVs even though one place locally would pay you $7 for an old TV.

    • @OffGridInvestor
      @OffGridInvestor 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      thegenrl maybe wishful thinking. Or the amount of batteries made in the states versus the amount of lead put in for recycling. Which wouldn't make sense because of the huge amount of batteries made elsewhere (like china).

    • @joeyburg6723
      @joeyburg6723 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The boiling point of Mercury is higher than the melting point of lead. Theoretically if you could perfectly maintain the temperature within 10 degrees... you could have molten lead float on liquid mercury.

  • @robertg222

    Bismuth is not toxic. Some people are now using it in shotguns for hunting because it's not toxic like lead. Down side it's more expensive.

    • @bgjb-r1499
      @bgjb-r1499 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      More expensive? Depending on when you buy, it can be 4 times the cost and other times 6 times more expensive. So, you can buy a box of ammo with lead shot for $4 a box or you can save the environment by paying $24 for a box of tungsten shells!! Sort of like buying a battery operated car that averages 48mpg for 80K or a gas operated car that gets 35mpg for 25k. Your homework is to figure out how many years it will take to break even assuming you put 18k miles a year on your car.

      That's the smoke screen that TYRANTS embellish. Don't be a sucker and get swept up in the diversion. It is a back-doorway to attack your 2nd amendment rights! All of your rights. Lead equals telling a runaway government to back down and serve the people. Cut off the lead (bullets) and you can pretty much just say, "OK, fuck you low lifers. No more elections. we'll set our destiny and you'll take it."
      It is hazardous material. But not even close to what the sheep (if you allow yourselves to become) will get force-fed. The HITLER-tactics spew from the White House. Sad thing is, In another life, anybody against anti-capitalist environmentalists would normally be on my shit list. Love ya man!!!!
