Yes, the officer should have tried talking to him a bit more while gasping for air. The family is delusional. Why do they even put these fools on the news?
If you watch it again right from the beginning on other channels you’ll see that that man reacted straight away and that cop picked up the cues and he reacted the right way. The thing is he should’ve held back until back up come but he probably would’ve had to assure him anyway at some point.

His brother is an idiot! Gentle kind men dont resist arrest and fight police. Glad justice was served since the justice system does nothing with these losers
He was never told he was under arrest. He was just being harassed and assaulted. That is not how you perform a traffic stop. Also cops are supposed to de-escalate. This cop did nothing but from the moment he stepped out of his own squad door, began aggression and instigating. Boot licker
Just to think, he tortured himself this same way for 16 years. Hard assed attitude, that's why he could take the stun gun. He got out of prison with the "I beat the system" attitude. The game with the system never ends....
I wonder how you would feel being in jail for a crime he didn't commit yeah he might have been a good guy before that happened to him. The system did that to him.

Everybody in America has some sort of trauma or PTSD from something. It’s not an excuse to act like a maniac. The officer was probably yelling so he could hear him over the traffic noise. The family members that defend these criminals make matters worse by looking for a pay out. Christ sake, the officer has no way of knowing his past!
This man, regardless of his past, was still obligated to abide by the same laws that ALL motorists have to abide by. He didn't comply with the officer. From the police video dash cam, you can see that he was driving recklessly at a very high speed putting other people's lives in jeopardy. The officer was right to pull him over. I can understand the apprehension that he felt from his past having been wrongfully convicted and the immeasurable losses that he and his family suffered, but he was still expected to abide by the laws while driving. AND, from what is seen in the video, he was 'overpowering' the officer and in doing so, that officer was then fighting for his life! Driving recklessly at 100 mph and endangering other people on the road -- IS going to get you arrested! If you overpower a police officer who has pulled you over -- expect to be tased and shot! The video tells the truth of what happened. It's sad that the man didn't feel that he was obligated to comply and it led to his death. But it was crystal clear that he was physically overpowering this officer and it was either going to be him or the officer! This was going to be a life-or-death situation for either one of them once he began overpowering the officer. .
Man you said the correct truth. That is the problem with black people the feel the laws don't apply to them and for some reason they have it in there head they can do whatever they want and nothing should happen to them.
Obligated to abide by the law or die? That's not what the law states, that's what an unlearned person, ignorant of the law thinks it states, if a cop can't hold his own in hand to hand combat they shouldn't be a cop PERIOD

You know what, you are so right. I originally liked this video. But it's quite obvious that this news station is just pandering to anti police sentiment. There is no grey area here. The man who decided to assault and try to kill a police officer whom was doing his job trying to protect citizens from the man who was speeding outrageously in a rain storm is the person in the 100% wrong. So sick of this victim mentality that's just generally accepted these days. No fault to the officer. My mom is gone now but I am now 58 years of age and everything she taught me has never failed. I have been pulled over many times in my youth most of it was "routine traffic stops." I have even gotten several tickets at different times out of some of those traffic stops because I actually committed a moving violation, but I have never seen the inside of a prison---real talk!

One thing absolutely has nothing to do with the other and 2 things can be true at the same time. The fact that he was exonerated for a crime he did not commit does not mean he did everything right in THIS situation. I'm sorry the family has lost their loved one, but it's pretty much cut and dry. You don't have to have a radar to determine how fast someone is going if they're literally flying past you. If he was suffering from PTSD, then he definitely shouldn't have been driving that fast anyway, which you can see from the dash cam. If the cop was so aggressive, then the very LAST thing he should have done was match the officer's aggression. At best, his family and friends should have been there to bus him around until he got his emotions together to where he could deal with any kind of law enforcement AND BE ABLE TO COMPLY WITH ORDERS. This video ABSOLUTELY disgusts me, i saw the ENTIRE video, uncensored and uncut, it's a shame how the news doesn't EVER want to show the full story. Here is what took place after the officer was forced to shoot him. The FULL video is 12 minutes and 8 seconds long, i would link the video in this comment, but i don't want to be banned by TH-cam for doing so. After Leonard Cure was shot by that police officer, a Brinks security truck happened to drive by and see the shooting take place, the security guard stepped out of his Brinks truck and asked the cop if he needed any help, the cop then asked the Brinks security guard to use his service weapon and cover Leonard Cure while he was on the ground after being shot, the cop then handcuffed Leonard Cure while the Brinks security guard covered him with his service weapon. After cuffing Leonard Cure, the cop moved to his squad car and got his first aid kit out of the back of his police vehicle and went back over to Leonard Cure and sat down on the ground next to this man, and opened the first aid kit and had taken out bandages and a pair of shock paddles and attempted to save his life, the entire time doing this, the officer could not see very well because earlier during the fight with Leonard Cure his glasses were knocked from his face during the scuffle and he could not find them. all the while the officer is talking to Leonard Cure, telling him "Hey, you look at me, you ain't going no damn where" and he continued to preform life saving measures. Once backup had arrived, they too joined in and tried to save his life, the officer stood up and walked to the back of his squad car, and was questioned by the other officers while they waited for EMS to arrive to check and see if he was hurt. Once it was clear that Leonard Cure died on the scene, the officer began to cry uncontrollably and had to be consoled by other officers on scene. I am sick and tired of this race narrative that is pushed by the media, to manipulate, indoctrinate and corrupt the minds of America and more specifically the minds of our children. The news reporter said something about the video being "hard to watch" No watching someone fight for their life in a dangerous situation and shoot someone in self defense isn't hard to watch. Watching that cop try everything in his power to save that man's LIFE (while he was nearly blind after losing his glasses.) and fail after you smeared him as a RACIST was HARD TO WATCH. The mainstream media is disgusting and should be held accountable for their lies and propaganda. I don't care how many years you spent behind bars, or what crimes you did or did not commit, you do not do what this man did here and expect not to be harmed or lose your life. This man was NOT innocent that day. I don't know this man's backstory or his history, but given the way he acted the day he lost his life i'm making an educated guess that while he was in jail for a crime he did not commit, he was was not a stranger to COMMITTING crimes. Anyone with two brain cells can see that, the families of this guy should be ASHAMED for getting up there and acting like this man was innocent, just because someone is family or you love them it does not make them an innocent person. Think about it, how does one having a family that loves them make them innocent? Jeffery Dahmer had a family, John Wayne Gacy had a family, Ted Bundy had a family. If people as evil as serial killers still had families too then what do criminals have? The Media are LIARS do not trust them. Always look for the truth yourself.
If he had been a loving person, he would have had the following in mind: 1. Kind and loving people don't drive recklessly, endangering the lives of others. 2. Considerate people respectfully follow the orders of law enforcement. 3. He wouldn't have challenged the officer by resisting arrest. The officer was doing his job - he didn't know he was dealing with someone who was already dealing with a fear of the law... Which leads his right back to the 1st point. If you fear the law, don't willfully put yourself in a situation to get arrested. C'mon. Don't make this about race. This officer shouldn't have to pay for Cole's past.
The officer approached him very aggressively 1st off. People speed on the highway everyday and get pulled over with less aggressiveness. 2nd, that man already spent 16 yrs of his life locked up over something he didnt do. I would say his mindset towards officers wouldn't be the same as yours. But you dont even consider that huh, just put him down. smh. He started tasing him while his back was already turned. Thats cool though. Ok
@@mayurikurotsuchi1527 Obviously, he was NOT afraid of the law, If he was, he would NOT be driving 100 mph, That's an invitation to being stopped by the police, And the defiant way he dealt with the cop showed that he had an anger management problem, Maybe that is related to the 16-year sentence he served in Florida, But that doesn't give him the right to take it out on a Georgia cop,
Let me tell you something, am from Greece, and as a third person observer, this is 100% about race. Firstly the officer should have check him and his history, he should have take in to account the injustice to him, and that would have given him the best way to approach him. You do not know if he was driving recklessly or fast, that's the word of killer who you are taking for granted. People with PTSD, from being wrongfully accused and imprisoned don't follow orders well. Lastly when you fear for your life you either flee or fight, he decided the latter. You have totally missed the plot, you went in here without even bothering to open your mind and see what is behind each participants actions. You saw a uniform and directly he must be right...
When the officer told him to get out of the car, there was a likelihood that he didn't even know the race of the driver. He didn't know that Cole had spent 16 years imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. That officer was supposed to presume all of that? They are paid to enforce the law, not to make psychic predictions about who they pull over. Since you all are saying he should have "known", do you know how many maimed and/or dead bodies this officer has had to witness due to speeding and reckless driving? How many families he's had to notify to give them the news that their loved one is in critical condition or worse just because someone couldn't follow the speed limit? It works both ways. The officer was angry, but Cole should have been compliant. As soon as Cole saw that he was going to be tased, he should have settled down. When Cole fought back, he then reached for his baton. The gun was his last resort. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
The man did not comply was took in the office that part is true but when the officers told him to get out of the truck the officer was acting like he was the biggest pc of crap the officer I've ever seen

It’s always so frustrating and annoying when the family of an individual who is shot/killed by Police tries to make out as if it’s the officers fault. I do honestly feel sorry for his family but his actions have changed the life of the officer as well. Surely by now they must know how ridiculous and pathetic their speeches are.
This guy was wrong - he created his own issues. Don't speed, don't resist, do what the cop demands. He was NOT innocent.
The officer protected the public. Imagine what he would've done to an innocent civilian without a gun. Thank you officer for keeping all those he would've come in contact with safe. I hope the officer is ok.
Goes 100mph told he is under arrest and fights the officer and the family play the victim mentality AND also claim he didnt commit the crime that did him 16 years in prison... disgusting.
He was exonerated for the crime that he did 16 years in prison for. He didn't commit the crime.
Wrongfully incarcerated. Lost 16 years of his life behind bars. I’m sure he’s suffered massive ptsd and felt slighted by law enforcement. When someone says “you’re going to jail”, after all that I’d be highly triggered and panicked as well.
Long arrest record and violent history before prison. @@harmike17

@@PetersFXfilmsOh okay then he can just do whatever he wants... LMAO
That looked like a legitimate use of deadly force, in my opinion. The cops should not always go in so hot like that though. That said, the cop had every right to defend himself in that situation. I can't imagine the cop being charged with anything for what we saw on video.
Hate it happened to him but he really brought it on himself

You right messed up situation
Yep, they blame everyone else for their crimes, plus they have a lot of hate in their heart for white people and police. It's true, people like to pretend that isn't it, but it is.
Right on. He spent all those years for a crime he didn't commit. That man had to defend himself. Lose,Lose

Yep, the system failed this man 2 times. Incarcerated 16 yrs wrongfully and they didn’t provide mental health assistance after his release. He had a lot of pent up anger and fear. He probably snapped! SMH
And really incredible how the family try to explain any absurd excuses.
Who else but Quagmire?
Desperate for the cash settlement. They will say anything.
$$$$$$$$$ thats what they see
Family is dumb like him
If the family is telling us how gentle this black man is after they watched this video all I can say is thank God for that dash cam video. If this video didn't exist, the buildings would be on fire and riots would be going on for a month because he was black. He is literally using his prison learned attack moves on this cop. He knocks the cops glasses off while going for an eye gouge then tries to break the cops' neck. I will bet money all that was learned in prison.
And you can hear him say "yeah motherfkr" in the video while trying to break his neck. So gentle and kind. 🙄
He should have followed instructions by the officer. I aint doing sh... t, is not a proper response, fighting with the officer, is not correct behavior. If you feel your rights have been violated, GET A LAWYER!!!!
Almost certain that the family will "quietly settle" and continue to call the shooting "unjustified". Convenient.
Excessive speeding and non compliance caused this. Own it.
He should of complied period .
Ummm bro was attacking that cop.
Cop should have given him a speeding ticket and walk away.
Simple.
Cops want to escalate every single encounter !
If he had been a loving person, he would have had the following in mind:
Ok
Plus driving recklessly over 100 mph , speeding past a Cop car.
'Come on, you got to get pulled over for that.
@@mayurikurotsuchi1527 Obviously, he was NOT afraid of the law, If he was, he would
NOT be driving 100 mph, That's an invitation to being stopped by the police, And the
defiant way he dealt with the cop showed that he had an anger management problem,
Maybe that is related to the 16-year sentence he served in Florida, But that doesn't give
him the right to take it out on a Georgia cop,
Let me tell you something, am from Greece, and as a third person observer, this is 100% about race.
How can anybody say the deputy did anything wrong? The guy didn’t comply and it got very dangerous
The man did not comply was took in the office that part is true but when the officers told him to get out of the truck the officer was acting like he was the biggest pc of crap the officer I've ever seen
@xplayfan21 The guy was compliant with hands on truck. The cop started taking him, and that was escalation and no reason to do this!!!
Looks justified to me.
After watching this video, I suspect this man was wrongly exonerated for his previous crime.
This Deputy deserves a promotion.
it always seems that the victim does not do what the officer says, they always fight
Ben Crump is like one of those ambulance chasing attorneys.
Crump needs to apologize to Camden County! He starts all this bs & gets the poor family involved when IN MY OPINION this was justified. I REALLY hate that this man died after all he had already went through. He jumped out of the truck ready to argue and fight. My condolences to the family. Also the officer I couldn't imagine what was going through his mind after witnessing the struggle we all seen. That man was trying to hurt that officer and if he would have had it his way he would have snapped his neck!
He a very foolish individual
Also Crump ALWAYS tries to make EVERY SITUATION about race! This was no means about race! I feel for this family 🙏 I REALLY hate it ended this way! That officer was alone & called for back up! Mr. Cure wasn't listening to commands & became combative. It IS an arrestable offense for any speed but is much worse when you figure in reckless driving! I don't understand why Crumb upsets these families especially BEFORE you get the video of what happened! It just disgusts me!
And he's not a smart lawyer ...just grabbing the low hanging fruit and always playing the race card... what a dope
Crump is a racist
This isn't going to go in that families favor. Dude broke the law, then refused to cooperate, then attacked an officer instead of fighting a charge/ticket in court. Of course the family claims "he was a good boy" and "he's a gentle soul" while video shows yet again that simply isn't the case. Sad that the officer has to resort to that outcome to subdue the threat, but the guy brought it upon himself.
His mom lived with that fear because she knew her son was going to act a fool if he got pulled over......As he did.

Had he would have complied and just stayed responsible, the officer probably would’ve just gave him a ticket and let him go!! I remember speeding over 90 mph and got pulled over by the police.. That police is a hot head. He was extremely aggressive right out the gate and set the tone for the encounter. He should not be a police officer with that temperament.
My brother was a nice guy, he was a passive person, he was a gentle guy, yet fighting with police on the side of the road. But but he's a good boy. He's now a dead boy.
Wow, this is so upsetting. Wish that would've been handled differently but God bless him & I hope he was right with the Lord. That officer didn't deserve all of that.

I dont think there was another way this could have gone down
@ Yes, he did! Pay attention to how he moved his body after getting out of the truck.
Every single time something unfortunate like this happens, the family of the dead guy shows up acting big mad wanting to get a payday!
We all know a no body worths more dead than alive 😅
my thoughts exactly, it’s always the same usual suspects
Why can’t this group just do what they’re told during a traffic stop?
I guess he shouldn't have resisted
Hundreds of people get pulled over for tickets. Nothing I seen showed me the officer did anything wrong . What I did see and herd was a person who believed he was above the law and could do anything including trying to fight a police officer.
Every time we see an obvious assault committed against a cop on video, the family always says the same thing every single time on the news media. These culture of people are always going to be clowns and never see themselves doing nothing wrong when it’s obvious that they did something wrong. I’m glad the cop defended himself from that wild animal 👏🏽
Africa looks like it does, for a reason.
It has nothing to do with skin pigmentation, and everything to do with culture.
Maybe mum or dad should have brought their son up with values and to obey rules for both criminal and/or traffic related matters.
Had he stayed in his car and acted like a human being then I guarantee that stop would have gone a whole lot better and he would be alive today. His actions dictated how that traffic stop played out. I’m thankful the officer wasn’t seriously hurt.
guees you missed the moment when the cop yelled at him to get out of the car immediatly.
and concerning the obey of rules....he was in prison for 16ys for a crime he didnt comit; i guess after that he was finished with following the rules.
