  • This is the absolute BEST C6 Corvette headlight restoration method is explained here. This does NOT include polishing and restoration kits. This method is cheaper, easier and lasts longer! Headlight restoration doesn't have to be difficult. Using this method one could provide a local business for anyone looking to make some extra cash, with very little startup cost.
    In this video I used:
    - 3m 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper (I suggest 800 - 1000 for best result)
    - Masking Tape/paper
    - Glass cleaner/lint free cloth
    - Any automotive clear from Autozone/Oreilly/Advance/PepBoys (look for adjustable nozzle I mention in the video. In this video I used - amzn.to/38TTR1z

    Your spraying pattern was not barbaric at all. Great video! If that was my car the rest of it would have been covered during the spraying if the clear coat!

    I see you had the car jacked up from the side, I was too scared to take a chance when I removed my front wheels, the underside looked totally sealed and I had no idea where to put my jack so I made some ramps and drove up on them to be able to get the jack into the front at the aluminum crossmember . Thank you for the tutorial.

    Did the sanding remove the small heat cracks? I have those cracks in mine and wondering if the sanding & spray takes that out?

      I've debated the color that works with my calipers and works into the carbon parts I have so there is adequate contrast. I think I got it decided...went between a few different avery colors. Lots comin soon as long as my life doesnt blow up again...lol.

      hopefully the rhetoric doesnt get any more out of hand, idk if we have learned anymore out of this than a bit more distrust. forget if i asked, do you still have the factory rear inner toe links on your car?

    This technique only works if it is only the outer protective coating that sustains the UV damage. If the crazing extends through the plastic lense, the light will be diffused when the headlights are turned on and illumination will be poor. Otherwise, the refinishing makes them look good.

    Forgive me if I missed it in the video but how many coats of clear did you use? I seriously thought about doing this to my Silverado headlights before I saw this and now I'm gonna pull the trigger and do it!

      In this vid I only showed one, but two coats will do you well with about 15min between coats.

    When are we going to see a comparison video of her car and yours LOL? Lots of people have a hard time deciding between these two cars for the money so your insight would be appreciated. Thanks

    Amigo I need your help i want to buy a 08 Corvette but the harmonic balancer is no good needs to be replaced should I buy it or not it's a clean title car

    • @KnightDriveTV
      @KnightDriveTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats a broad question man. 08+ is what you want. Harmonic balancer is a common issue youll be hard oressed to 100% avoid with any car. Really comes down to price, location and comps in the region you are buying.

      @@KnightDriveTV yeah the Vette of clean title has 123k miles and I already checked it out ONLY issue might get it for 15 k maybe less plus I already have a mechanic ready to do it for under $300 plus the harmonic balancer I could get for less than $87

    The best method for C6 headlight restorations is to replace the lenses, no polish/sanding procedure will hold up over time

    • @KnightDriveTV
      @KnightDriveTV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree polishing wont hold up, but a clear coat UV resistant respray does. I had them last a solid 3 yrs. Its the splintering and backside issues that wont go away, but this process can get you a lot of time to plan a headlight replacement or lens replacement.
