    This is fantastic and so glad I found this. My first ever trip to South Wales and looking for a lake and a nice hike to a ridge.
    I am struggling to find a video that has this lake then a walk up to the ridge, to the trig and not take in Lyn y Fan Fach? I can see a route splitting the two. Is that ok or best to retrace steps?
    Also where did you peark please. Thank you

    Hello Christine, Im on Monday morning catch up and a nice way to start the week going along on your ventures. Im still shivering from watching the dips you had but agree once you are in they are so refreshing. I find the Lakes in the Lake District, my favs are Coniston and Buttermere, arent half as cold as the reservoirs but maybe thats just me haha. No chance of me winter wild swimming. Thankyou for sharing once again and the ridge line to the lake looks amazing what a beautiful area to chill out in. Hope youve had a fabulous weekend 🙂

      Hi Tony, lovely to hear you enjoyed this one on your Monday morning last week :) it was really cold to begin with but so refreshing once adjusted to the temperature! Yes been swimming in Coniston before & wasn’t quite as cold as this one from memory! I might try a few dips in the next few months if the sun is out and about 🤞🏻 thanks again for watching & sorry for the delay in replying been unwell the last week or so.
      Hope you’re having a good week so far 😊

    Great videos! 👍 Have been planning to do some walks in the Brecon Beacons in 2024 having walked there a lot in the scouts over 20 years ago, & it looks even better than I remembered!

    What a place 👌...I don't suppose the water temp changes much over the year ? Cracking spot for a bit of P and Q .....thanks for taking us along on this one.....I really need to get on the M5 & M4 🚙💨 😊

      It's always either 'freezing' or 'fucking freezing'.

    • @shefreelyroams
      @shefreelyroams  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No as Jamie said, it's pretty much freezing all year round, especially the lake as it's a glacial lake so consistently cold - it's the air temperature that makes it bearable in summer! Such a nice spot, one of my faves, never tire of it 😍 and yes you really do, so many beautiful places this side of the river severn!

    What a lovely spot to chill, I have a little secret water fall and dipping pool I visit on dartmoor, takes and hour off the main walk route so always have to myself for a refreshing naked dip in the early morning, such a blessing having wonderful nature around us, thank you for the video really relaxing

      Thanks Andrew - pleased to hear you enjoyed the video 😊 It’s one of my favourite spots to visit for a dip & similar to you, so lovely to have these spaces to enjoy - very grateful 💛

    If your videos ever embark on a tour of the National Parks, then there are some nice spots near Keld in the Dales. I bumped into a sea swimming group at East Gill Falls on a tour of local wild swims. They egged me on to take a dip. I've since learned to carry a towel and went back later. Time it for late spring for the buttercup meadows. Or a circular walk near Settle passing Catrigg Force.

      Thank you for the recommendations Jason 😊 a tour of the UK’s national parks would be a dream, I’m slowly getting round to visiting them all & always on the look out for wild swimming spots so thank you, nice to hear you’ve gotten into it too, great fun! And good shout on having the kit ready as the best spots are often those you stumble across 🙌🏻

      @@shefreelyroamssadly it was grey and windy when I arrived and not tempting, but I did the circuit round Lly y Fan Fach up and back along the ridge via Fan Brycheiniog , of course it cleared up and was sunny by then!

      @shefreelyroams I think I might give it a go at some point, but it's definitely something that I've never thought of doing before. It will make an interesting video as I would definitely be going of my comfort zone too. 🤣
