You and I are the same vintage of ‘81. I’m a kiwi and was doing the harvest on a farm in Cambridgeshire and I remember Big Brother being on TV. Watching on from my caravan parked up next to the liquid nitrogen tanks. It was massively hyped in the newspapers and old Nasty Nick was the tabloids favourite bad guy. First and last experience with reality TV.
Brilliant blog again today Olly - you certainly have a very full day - every day!! Yes, the John Deere did look excellent just parked up ready for use in case of a field fire. Very sensible too.
That grease looked more like the old swarfager hand cleaner lol, that stuff use to be more like lube then cleaner if had been dealing with diff or gear oil 😉👨🔧🚜🇳🇿
Great video 👏 You guys need to start trying to show the public the craziness of the so called net zero drive and the impact it will have on food production before we end up with a situation like in Holland and worse still Sri Lanka.
U can get green red or blue grease from ur supplier its normally high pressure hi temp grease i use them on my timber loader it stays better on the pins etc . Its bit dearer but well worth it in terms of wear preventon
Hello olly that harvest lab is very interesting people knock John Deere but they are ahead with technology and the amount of samples it does in a sec is unbelievable Iam 80% today

Is that Cornthwait dealership near Parbold Hill ? I bought a JD 2040 from there many moons ago, great little tractor. Cant remember the salesman's name but he was ex Coldstrem Guards, absolute gent. He recomended a pub called the Wiggin Tree for lunch. I'll have to go back there if its still open. 95% for me today, retired and loving life. Great video as always Olly. Hope the weather holds for the rest of the harvest
Great video AS ALWAYS Olly……. You looking at JD Silage harvester…. Does it mean if you were to get into bio gas or something like that…… the JD is the harvester you’d buy 🤔😀
I am wanting to buy a farm in the distant future and I have wondered what is better, using a forage harvester or a forage wagon? And if a Forager, can you attach a trailer onto the back and just keep swapping trailers?
Do you know what there response is? One of there main policies seems to be cheap food for the masses which is completely understandable. But farmers aren't going to grow crops, feed cattle/poultry/pigs at current input prices and we are very soon going to end up with high food prices/shortages. This is a global problem, they can't import cheap food from elsewhere. 🤦♂️
Hi Olly. Could I have your opinion. Farmer p might be looking for a new tractor. He's trying a New Holland T5 plus a T7. What's important is height. He's got a low barn. Could New Holland supply a smaller wheel for the T7
Without cheating guess which amount is the closest to the total retail value of those 18 JDs? £1m, £2m, £3M, £4M, £5M, £6M, £7M, £8M, £9M or £10M? I did the maths and the result surprised me....
Harvest lab, bet that ain’t cheap! Don’t get how the dealer can afford to have all those tractors in his yard they need to be sold and in farms of am I missing something here 🤷🏻♂️ bit like you having a shed full of grain and hoping somebody will buy some
