Hi I am a new subscriber from Harrogate. I was brought up on a farm in Hampshire until I was 13. Only 100 acres but I am 75 now so no big machinery like you have. Started driving tractors when I was 5 (well steering them) and nearly got caught by the police when 13 and driving 10 ton of grain down a lane to the next door farm to be dried. Happy days and love watching (and smelling) the harvest.
Hi Olly, rain stopped play here today, (East Devon) menfolk in the office. Just had a lovely walk with the dogs. Good to see you all going on well. Thanks and take care.
That crazy how much diffrence their was from the treated to untreated this hsows just how important all the stuff farmers use for crops are very important and need to be used.
South Cambridgeshire still no rain. People used to watch the combines and machines because they knew what they were. Still rambert as a kid my first combine ride, now cabs then went home looking like a chimney sweep, but oh so happy.
No rain in south Surrey since early May, no second cuts for hayledge/hay here. Trees are shedding leaves & lawns are straw coloured. Great videos as per usual. 80%
Desperate on the isle of wight. April showers missed us and not a drop since June 15th (which wasn't much). Been feeding silage bales for last 5 weeks. Would love to get rained off for once
Hi 2 mm of rain in last two months essex suffolk cambridgeshire boarder its like autumn harvest nearly done every thing cooked with the non stop heat , 30% had pas blood test to find out if radiotherapy has done its job on prostate cancer,Great videos shows what farmers go through every day
My first job was washing down combines for a agriculture engineers, but ended up going into car repairs ,but 38 years later I still stop and watch combines in the fields. No rain of any amount since end of June in Essex.👍
Plenty of rain here in Market Drayton but it's combined with muggy and hot weather, so the forage maize looks great off it! Much needed for silage ground as well. Probably about 90 odd percent today.
In central cornwall at the moment looking pretty green and 2 lots of light rain this week. North cornwall looks a bit drier. Home - essex - still dry as a bone apparently.
Used to watch combines as a kid (lived on a farm), then mended them for 30 years. Still watch them live and on Y/T , but glad im out of the spanners game now, no fun in the heat.
We’ve had plenty of rain in good old Weaverthorpe on the North Yorkshire wolds. Harvest has been in full swing end of July but stopped this last week with the rain. I think lots more people are into farming and interested in where the crops come from etc there’s a lot more to it then meets the eyes 👀
We've had rain sat/sun and yesterday with a damp start today but it's dried well and neighbors are cutting again but we are holding off yet, grain still chews wet. East Yorkshire.
Yeah , when I was farming the people in the nearby house would get the council round to try and stop me combining because the dust was getting on their washing. And of course in the seventies and eighties when we burnt the straw there was all hell let loose .
Next to no rain in Norfolk yet , as for watching the farmers , watched a new Holland at work , spoke to the entire family as dad was on harvester , mum escort duties , son and daughter carting , they were great . Watched a Deere s760i combine , with lad carting in a 939 fendt I think it was , they all waved , it’s great watching , great video again Olly , thank you

Great video Olly. I’m down in the middle of Essex and we have no rain for 6 weeks. Finished harvest on the 27th of July which is the 1st. Pulling up for oil seed rape and so hard we can’t keep the cousins patriot in the ground if no rain we will have no osr this year round here. All round us combines have finished. Not even had enough moisture to green up any volunteer osr desperate for rain but none in for cast for next 14 days. Good luck with rest of harvest hope stays dry for you
Down in Christchurch - Dorset we've not had rain for months now, the grass on all the verges is dry, brown and dormant, they are even on about hose pipe bans which we've not had in years, ive not known it this dry for a very long time
