I know people that were in office and they would walk the halls, stop by and visit people, go to the the dining area and visit and it was all okay because they were in office. If you are at home you need to be available 100% of the time so if you are not at your desk it's frowned upon

Yup, I waste more time at work. At home I have no one to talk and don’t have to leave for lunch

@@coreejacobs4780 AND... I know my bathroom is available and stocked with toilet paper. Where I used to work we only had one toilet in the mens room for 50 guys. The lone woman on the floor had two toilets in the womans restroom.

So true. It was after 3 weeks of training, our first week, what they call “on the floor nesting/training”) is when we first were told of this “idle time” metric statistic. (This is back in 2017) So if I called a doctors office, and someone put me on hold, I would just start typing in a MS notepad session (with a real words and phrases) (as they told us they can tell if it’s you’re doing something with your master keyboard, productively, or non-productive) (and this was before mouse jiggers first came out)

Some of these computer based training classes (CBTs) they made you take, to get your continue education credits. Some of these online CBTs, you have 10 questions and you don’t pass unless you get ALL 10 Correct (verse. most of the online course is the only need to be 75% accurate to pass) some of them have such a one question that was really tricky with two possible correct answers. So if you got 9 out 10 correct, they would make your answer all the questions all over again (not telling you which one you got wrong) This was so frustrating because of the two trick questions they had them there. So one way around it was answering a couple wrong that you know we’re right, just to see which one of the questions may be the culprit. It was so tedious. And the fact that they expect you to do CBT’s while on hold, (and they measure of how productive your mouse is moving ) is insane. - I was not gonna risk getting carpal tunnel syndrome for a stupid statistic like that I quickly left that job and went back to my previous job.

They made me do this sort of thing for skydiving and scuba diving certifications. I just started taking screen shots of the questions. Another method I did was copy and paste the questions in google searches which gave me the answers right away so I wouldn’t have to go back and search for the answer.

@@cilva7able yeah, I had to resort to doing something like that with screenshots. But unfortunately, some of these pharmacy multiple-choice questions, that were intentionally there to have two possibly similar correct answers, using regular google Internet, was not gonna give me the answer.
But either way, it’s ridiculous for a company to expect you to be doing CBT’s (computer-based training) while (if) waiting on hold with a doctors office. & then when the nurse comes back on the line to give you the information, you’re busy thinking about the stupid CBT’s. & thus easy to make an error.

Use a wall outlet. Most new PC's will detect a USB activity and seek to find what was plugged in.
