I never knew that any of Bret Harte's stories were ever rendered on film. "The Luck of Roaring Camp" is actually a little different plotwise, but this is maybe better than the original, which was melancholy, a tragedy. "The Outcasts of Poker Flat" is briefly referred to in this film. It should be made into a movie, as it carries a good lesson about the evils of self-righteousness.
Actual title: The Luck of Roaring Camp--not "the" Roaring Camp. Hard to believe this was made the same year as Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz, but a great story.
I am just now reading Bret Harte's Christmas stories collection. I love his story telling.
🤠🐴Thank you . 👍Nice to see favorite players in this great old western 🐴🤠 , Charles King , Robert Kortman , Robert McKenzie and Byron Foulger . 🥰🐴🤠
Another great movie that i never seen before and i am a big fan of Joan Woodbury.
