The visuals and atmosphere on this one are intoxicating. It's almost an ambient film to put on when you're in a spooky mood. There's something about Anya's look, she's gorgeous of course, but something almost mystical, haunting, dangerously alluring when she's in this type of setting. Ineson's voice puts chills in my bones as well. You can feel how difficult it would have been to be alive at that time, on your own in the wilderness. I also believe the witch is real as well, it seems Eggers does the teasing but underneath it all, he leads me to believe this is real. Incredible film and yes subtitles are required for me. My normal routine is to watch everything with subs because I like catching proper spelling of names, locations and don't like missing anything lost in the mix (looking at you Nolan!) Doubling with LONG HAIR OF DEATH (still haven't seen) - sounds like you may have programmed a movie night for me this week. Thanks again!
@@uriknight5530 Agree!!!! Although I have to say, having given Guadagnino‘s ‘Suspiria’ {th-cam.com/video/vhp-w2ueY3Q/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared} a rewatch I was surprisingly impressed…. ‘Black Sunday’, ‘The Long Hair of Death’ & the witches in ‘Lords of Salem’!!!! You got any other suggestions??? Thanks man!!!🎃
@@vhs8270oh man, I'm gonna watch tonight Long hair of death! Yesterday I received a german bluray copy of it, because its the only way to get it actually on bluray (i cannot get the raro video one), love Barbara Steele! I love Witchcraft movies, I can recommend you if you haven't see it yet: "A Dark Song" (very well slow burn witchcraft movie from Wales, from 2016). "Gretel and Hansel" (an Oz Perkins flick, love it!), The Autopsy of Jane Doe (another good one). "City of the Dead" (a very atmospheric 60's movie). A Witch movie that it is not talked about enough and its underrated it is Dario Argento "Inferno", maybe because Suspiria it is much superior, but I love how atmospheric and creepy it is, and the witches on it are awesome. Follow me if u want on Letterboxed (bmovie1635) I try to post reviews often! 🙌
Excellent review!!

@@DonJoeBob An excellent double feature my friend!!!!!!🍻
Underrated
@@channelmeaspirit Agree, rarely gets talked about anymore and that’s a shame. Very much looking forward to his Nosferatu this Christmas 🍻
Love this movie, after Argento's Suspira, probably my favourite Witch movie, Robert Eggers is an amazing director. Top notch horror in my opinion
