Sean I don’t know how you can keep up your energy for CF. You are the best announcer and it doesn’t surprise me that CF has made yet another bad define not having you. You will continue to do great things.

Thank you for the compassionate and empathetic way that you approached this. It was hard to watch the competition after what happened.

Luka also did another post- you may have not seen it was in his stories.
Hiller posted it on his own page. It says Luka wrote “you loved a sport that didn’t love you back. “
Also said no tribute would ever bring you back to me.
We are fans and in the stands and haven’t felt right at all. We have also been here since Wednesday. I have cried every day since Lazar died. Watching it unfold has been horrible.

The rule is 10/20 for lifeguards. Scan in 10 seconds and reach in 20 seconds. Laws in Texas require lifeguards carry a float device.

This is absolutely ridiculous and insultingly painful as someone who’s been involved in CrossFit for a long time. I would not consider the games this year a competition anymore and definitely not a fair competition. We have members in our community who are hurt/hurting because of Lazar’s death. As I see it, in the most sincerest way athletes are trying their best to honor Lazar’s life by continuing to participate in the events. To award prize money or to name a “winner” is inappropriate. I am not watching the games this year but if I did, my heart would pour out for these athletes who are grieving and trying to make meaning of this terrible tragedy. Athletes who are still trying to “win” at this point are out of touch or in denial of this tragedy. Just to be clear I am following and learning about what has happened and is happening via social media but not watching the games.

Fittest on earth minus altering workouts for Disney commercial breaks and time frames.

I don't know if I'll be able to accurately portray what I mean in this comment. Thursdays events were tragic and have left me in tears. Taking a step back and looking at 2023 you had many top females missing from the 2023 Games, Mal, Hailey, Tia etc. Did people still consider Laura the fittest on earth or did they just consider her 2023 Games Champion? The reason I ask is because the take given on this podcast seems to suggest that this years winner is not the 'fittest' but only the 2024 Games Champion. Athletes are missing this year too just as they were in 2023, the reasons for them not participating should not have any baring on the view of the outcome. Please do not take any of this as diminishing the tragic events that happened and more of discussion of athletes missing and how the winner is viewed in 'weakened' field.

It’s different. Laura had already proved herself (and proved herself after at Rogue) to be a complete beast. Everyone shjt on her anyway saying she only won because no Tia. This weekend wasn’t just that people were missing.. more than half the field were obviously extremely emotionally and mentally impacted by their fellow athlete dying next to them in an event… no matter what you think, grief manifests physically for a lot of people.
