@@Math.Bandit Right!!! The funniest thing Phil will say after ANYONE beats him is the guy (or lady) is an amateur or this guy doesn't know how to play professionally. I would probably keep that under my hat as there are now 100s of vids out there with you saying it playing the bark off of you Phil.
18:44 He didn’t slow roll Phil since he couldn’t know at that moment that he had won. Phil could’ve been holding a set, a straight, or aces. How should he have known at that time that he had won?
I believe it's because since there was no kings on the board, just saying kings implies the two pair. Phil is esentially saying that two pair would be a very common hand in the board, and his opponent should know it and how little info it gives saying "2 pair" gives, creating false hops for high pocket pairs to actually make it until he flips his cards a bit afterwards. Which for a pro, he could be right. But a less experienced player would not realize this so fast and would just think for a moment on combination values. He is not placing Hellmut on a paired board, but as you said on a set or a straight or a bluff. Being tied in combination and winning by higher pair is not something he was thinking about.
I like how Hellmuth blows up when Negreanu shows his AT two pairs. Maybe min reraising preflop with ATo isnt the best idea, but even if Negreanu had done that with legit hands like AQ, AK, Phil would still have lost the hand.
Many of these clips are old though. High Stakes poker and poker after dark clips like 15 years ago. Back then it was still a bit more rare to play whatever hands. But maybe he is still the same idk
I disagree with the commentary on the first one. "My perspective is that Hellmuth either has A-K or an 8 with a bigger kicker than mine" makes zero sense. Hellmuth has one pip higher and saying "He wouldn't show this much power this early..." shows you don't know Hellmuth because he re-raised with essentially the same hand. The guy who gave him the bad beat got lucky only to the same degre that Hellmuth got lucky and had him by the slimmest marging possible with a mediocre kicker. They both played the hand the same way.
1:55 How can Harlow think Hellmuth has a better 8 than himself? Even Hellmuths T isn't that great. You only make this analysis because you - as a viewer - know both hands.
Why is Phil playing like he is green for a long time now. It's like he is just so desperate to win a single hand. He sets he's own self up then cries like a baby. I think he is just losing it or needs a long vacation.

How many of these guys have spent hundreds of hours watching video of themselves playing hundreds of hands straight, with no acting, just to memorize their facial expressions in these situations? I've certainly lost hands to those who put out false 'tells'...and that's against non-pro players. I've never had the opportunity to play against an Ivey or Jen Tilly. I always wanted to play against Hellmuth, mostly because it's pretty easy to push his buttons, and I have a sadistic sense of humor. And, about half the guys I played with in the Philadelphia area play like Mouth; getting upset if you play non-premium hands, insulting your poker playing skills, etc. The reason most of these types do this is to try to force you to play their way, allowing them to semi predict what you have, which increases the odds in their favor. It's a pretty good strategy, but it can be thwarted with a 2-6 off. As we used to say at Harrah's Philadelphia, "ATC" - exaggerating disgusted facial expressions in an attempt to get other players to believe they've got s***. “God, you have to have me.” And after that thought the right course of action is of course not folding but calling and ranting about how bad your opponent is….
Once again proven that it's just dangerous to Fall in Love with, or at least be protective of, a pair of aces; or any over pair for that matter. Especially if it's been a while since you've won a hand.
The problem is Phil Helmuth is a pro that has this ego that he thinks no amateur should be able to win a single pot against him. Poker requires a variety of skills as a whole. Not just one. Anybody can get hit with a bad beat regardless of the skill level. Luck definitely plays a factor. Unfortunately Phil doesn’t know how to pat himself on the back when he makes a smart call and is just unlucky.

Phil Hellmuth has spent the last 20 years embarrassing himself on televised cash games. His outrageous behavior and antics are good for ratings but I don’t think there’s a single professional, or even high stakes amateur, who respects his skill level in a cash game structure. He should just stick to playing WSOP tournaments with big amateur fields.
Listen phill Helmut gets a lot of sponsorship money. He won 14 wsop bracelets. His personality... Strange. His looks is 5. His poker style is unknown. But he is super pro... He is super pro. He is wolf. In sheep's clothing.

How was that last hand a slow roll Phil? He bet every time, you checked thinking you were in the lead.
