The picture of Polly and her Father. 😢 she looked a lot like him. This breaks my heart, I hate that we have monsters walking among us. Great guest Kim, you did fabulous explaining this sad, horrific tragedy and Ana is wonderful as always! Hope everyone has a safe, and happy 2024! ❤🎉❤
What an excellent guest. I will definitely read her book. Great interview. I remember this case so well, though I had a hard time believing it happened THAT LONG AGO.
I was 20 years old when this happened and I had just had my first son 4 months prior. I was absolutely terrified and devastated by this story. It showed me how truly scary people in this world can be. You can never be too careful and mindful. This heartbreaking story in our headlines everyday, made me be a more cautious person. To look at my surroundings everywhere I go, exits, entrances, fire alarmed doors. I know it might seem over the top for some but I felt it necessary to always be on alert. Never go to sleep without your home secured, and never trust anyone who gives you even the slightest unsettling feeling. That instinct can save your life.
Another dude named Richard Allen who kidnapped and killed a child? What are the chances? Wasn't the murderer in the Delphi murders named Richard Allen too? Wild. This all just breaks my heart and makes me want to throw up. As a parent I cannot even fathom the pain this family has endured.
Brilliant guest. Will have to read her book. So pleased that they found the body and caught the guy after all the botched process, and that things have improved because of this.
Putting the family through such a heartbreaking trial wasn't enough, the vile monster had to accuse the father of SAing his own daughter even after being sentenced to death. I hope true justice is served on behalf of the other inmates behind bars.
This was a wonderful, uplifting, positive portrayal of LEARNING. Taking the terrible, and making it beneficial. Polly's life purpose is clearly seen. God will take bad, and use it for good. This is a great example. My heart goes out to all those injured by this crime. The hurt goes farther than we know. I pray that they are comforted and find their purpose that may stem from this crime. Ana and Kim, this interview was a blessing!
I was the same age as Polly and living in California and this case has forever stayed with me. Thank you so much for this episode. You made me think of a great Leonard Cohen line “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” While it’s so sad that Polly and her family have and will always suffer from this monsters doings, it has shed light on the way things are approached and handled and how it can improve and make a difference.
What an amazing case to hear about and even though I don’t read much I truly want this book! And to have positive impact come out of this terrible tragedy is testament to what a beautiful soul Polly is❤
I don't know why, but this case (and the calmness and stoicism of this little girl, Polly Klaas, and her friends) has stayed with, and touched my heart in so many ways, for years 😢 R.I.P lovely little Polly 💐 - my heart and prayers are with her parents and loved ones 💜
Extraordinary guest...thank you Mrs. Gracia for this great interview and learning the real case of this horrific event and the positive outcome after 30 years that is still ongoing...congratulations to you and your host...amazing research...fascinating investigation.
This case really effected me. I had just had my daughter. Until she left home I would check on her in the middle of the night for the rest of her life. When she had people spend the night I would check on them a lot. I startled on of her friends because I was leaning over the bed to make sure that she was okay too. Slumber parties made me extremely anxious. I didn’t get a lot of sleep. I would check on them and count them to make sure that they were all there. I did have a full blown panic attack one time because I was supposed to have 12 girls and only counted 11. I counted again then ran through the house looking for her, checked all the doors and couldn’t find her. I went back and counted. Still 11. My heart was pounding in my chest. I woke everyone up and the 12th little girl was wedged against the wall covered with pillows. I know I scared them because I started crying and hugging them. They had no idea what was going on. There were so many cases that terrified me. JonBenet Ramsey was the same age as my daughter. Now that my daughter is older she completely understands why I was so vigilant. She says that I have trained her well because she will be the same way with her children.
@@eneobande7433 sorry. I meant that I still check on her when she stays at the house and she’s over thirty. 😂 And my nieces still tell their friends stories about me hovering over them in the middle of the night and scaring them to death.
She would not have said "I thought that you left me!" As a survivor I feel very sure of that. That's more like warped wishful thinking on his part. She probably was already dead 😢 (at least not free and ungagged)
I remember this case so well. I lived about an hour away from Petaluma. I was 10 years old at the time. Polly was everywhere on the news, everyone was on the lookout. It is a core memory of mine when I found out they found her. My dad came into the room and told my mom and I they found Polly... I was so happy to hear it but something about the look on my dad's face made me ask... Is she ok? Then, I remember him putting his head down and shaking his head no. The strength and resilience Mark Class showed during that time and all these decades later is beyond measure! The Polly Class foundation is such a wonderful testimony to sweet Polly. ❤ Thank you for doing this great interview.
I was in Petaluma at exactly the time that this whole drama unfolded Polly's grandfather came to our 12-step meetings the whole town was bouncing around with all kinds of energy it was unique. After her father was cleared he got very involved then they formed the foundation and I believe they've been working tirelessly ever since the supplies of human and lnhuman😢jerk buttholes, zombies, homeless, drugs everywhere and multi-millionaires and billionaires running around. What a combo
I had no idea this book had been written about this case. I remember when this happened. Such a sad story. I’m happy to hear the Organization formed in her name is still going strong.
I lived in the Bay Area at the time and followed the case. I always wondered how the detectives got Davis to lead them to her body AND Davis still get the death penalty. Thanks so much for filling in the gaps. Great storyteller.
So incredible so many firsts that came about because of Polly wat a wonderful legacy Sleep easy little angel ….. such a fascinating case thanks Anna really enjoyed tonight’s episode an yr guest is top notch ❤

Just need to say, i reported a video of a girl bein sold (under 16) on a business site one friday night on fb a few years ago. I reported it, they said it didn't go against their community standards
Grew up in Ukiah. In 1993 I lived in Novato, CA, 10 miles south of Petaluma, CA. This was so terrifying and people were angry that this monster was let out of prison. And angry with the way law enforcement didn't believe the girls. used to cry every time Polly's Dad was on TV. RIP Polly. It was so disgusting the way he did Polly's Dad. I am disapointed that the vile demon is still alive.
I know all about this TERRIBLE crime, I have seen all of the docs on this and it made me sick! WE NEED MUCH, MUCH, MUCH stronger punishments for these ASWFUL crimes! OUR LAWS are VERY, VERY, VERY weak!
58:03 omg im bawling. Theres a song by dolly parton called jeanies afraid of the dark… this part of this case reminds me of it. In it a little girl who is afraid of the dark dies, so her parents put an eternal flame on her grave. This guest was awesome!!
Me too. We lived near Petaluma and were absolutely devestated about this. Hoping against hope she would be found alive. I haven't listened to this whole podcast but this awful man was stopped by the sheriff for a traffic matter and Polly was still alive and in the car trunk. Everyone was just so heartbroken.
Im sorry, i love TCD but this case was so traumatic and it Is such a sad thing to discuss, that I find it almost insulting to the family to laugh, or joke about AOL or Anything else, Even though your laughing or joking is just a side note and not about her or her family.
Look my dad always taught me never freak out in a hard situation analyzing things and making decisions making sure your views are clear is important those who over react missed out on valid points or important things go above
Think this is the guy that lived across the street the whole time and basically was 'Another Killer At The Crime Scene', He told detectives his dog barked around 3am if I remember it correctly but his dog was actually alerting neighbours to it's sick owners actions.
Such a minor detail I’m stuck on but - what was the point of the condom? Like actually. 1) she’s a little girl, she’s a virgin there’s no chances of std 2) he knew he was going to kill her in the end so there was no chance of pregnancy So then I’m thinking “maybe he used it because he didn’t want to leave dna” but that doesn’t check out either because he left the condom at the scene! 😅 I’m really trying to figure out his reasoning for a condom.
No this question is very much so valid. I have the same question. Imagine a fire breaking out or a medical emergency with one of the sleepover children that you're responsible for
I really wanted to hear the guest talk more in this story. she was the expert not Anna. Anna kinda talked over her quite a bit in this one. But great coverage. also Winona was not the story, Polly was. focus people!! 😅
I swear Anna is the most gracious host to her guests. I just love this show ❤

Richard Allen DAVIS is the animal who murdered Polly Klaas.
I was thinking the same thing, both disgusting men
It’s so weird.

I've never understood people who hurt others😢sad state even to an extreme of hurting kids💔no parent should go through that trauma
*What is wrong with people hurting kids🤔 How does ones mind stoop that low is beyond me bruh*

Trespassing law.. wow! Only in liberal California
This was uninteresting
Question: Why would a Mother take a sleeping pill when she has a house full of kids sleeping over whom she is responsible for?
All the more reason to try and get sleep. Don’t even for one second imply any blame on the mother. The blame is in the creep who broke into the home.
Please stop victim blaming!!
She had a migraine.
No this question is very much so valid. I have the same question. Imagine a fire breaking out or a medical emergency with one of the sleepover children that you're responsible for
