Don't listen to anyone who tells you that fresh land oysters are worth the journey because when you see what a maul does to a live animal...honestly you won't eat for a week. Here’s an idea: if oyster pearls are valued in this world then a clatter jaw welp who failed to stop the immune response of the oyster get trapped in the Pearl wouldn’t they go for high prices in the market?
I think out of all your various dragons designs this is by far one of my favorite, not only is it just such a cool idea for a dragon but they are just so creepy. Both their medium size and large numbers would be a nightmare to dear with or even be around. Having the clattering surround you from all angles, its such a amazingly terrifying trait of the species.
What a fascinating creature!! It's easily better than the death angels in terms of horror movie potential. For one, its biology makes sense, and two. Its design is an incredible mixure of foul, nightmarish, uncanny, yet oddly majestic in a way! One of these fantastic beasts would fit perfectly on a heavy metal album cover! The 'Face' Method won't last much longer. The Clatterjaws will adapt and will travel in groups in order to make it ineffective, though terrifying as it seems, one might be ambush from behind while the other one distract it's adversary by being bait.

Theoretically, should a targoer or any human find a wandering baby Clatterjaw, could they try to tame it by letting it see the group as a ‘maw?’ Or would it be too dangerous
It's definitely an intelligent and highly social creature, so it should be possible theoretically. Although there must be a reason why the Tar-goers didn't seem to have domesticated them
This is one my personal favorite of your creations, I was hoping it would get a video. I especially love how much thought you put into the recourses it would take the dragon to make it's signature crushing jaw. Double layered egg+oyster is such a creative concept, love weird lifecycles.
I have an idea for you, this isn't a dragon idea but just an animal idea, a parasite that disguises as the tounge of a clatterjaw and cordiceps fungus's the dragons brain, basically zombie dragons, then it makes the dragon go to an oyster and open its mouth, the parasite, which is 3 times as long as a lamprey, then finds an opening of some kind in the shell, and slithers through, finds the soft body of the oyster and consumes it, then forces its dragon to lay an egg or steal an egg and put it in the oyster shell, the parasite lays an egg inside the egg, then the dragon and parasite either grow together and the parasite gets an immediate host, or if it's biologically possible and if you want, mutants? :) I just thought this was an interesting idea It also could lead into the belief of the dragons being the souls of the dead
When I heard you were making a TH-cam channel that would have profiles for the dragons in the codex, this was the one I had been waiting for. The Clatterjaw is such a great mix of terrifying and silly, with the absolutely bizarre biology and ecology that makes your setting stand out so much. That messed up lil freak has to be one of my favorite dragons in this project, definitely a top 5 at least.

You know the landscape of the Tar barren looks empty hopefully in the next entry will be covered in a location full of wildlife like a forest, Perhaps the Blood Forest, or maybe exploring the nearest island Sicklemouth Island.
In that forests we might come across The Gaping Kilnneck dragon (Insidioscitor frondosus) or on that island we come across the Sicklemouth dragon (Gladiundus dirus) in either of those locations.
I gave this dragon an individual name "Porter J. Jackson" but his friends and his rider Barb the Hard Rock Troll calls him "Jaws" because of his his front teeth are small, sharp, and pointed, while the back teeth are broad and flat, similar to molars. These teeth are adapted to their diet of crustaceans and mollusks, with the front teeth grabbing and breaking prey and the back teeth crushing and grinding shells. and chosen to be voice by Bill Nighy.
Jaws advice quote: "What if you do wake the odd nipper?, a whack on the head with a sock full of sand, and a dab of whiskey on the lips, they don't remember in the morning.

How deep is their understanding of mathematics ? Is everyone scholarized or are there a few engineers and researchers that know how to read and write ?

A bigger planet would result in higher gravity, but that same gravity would also make a thicker atmosphere allowing for more lift. And some dragons have air sacs while other larger ones can’t truly fly on their own but can glide or need a boost via some means. Granted, you have to stretch realism a bit if you want dragons. I believe I remember seeing somewhere that this earth is about 2 times the size of ours

I really like the "Hyena Dragon", but I have one question. What is the weird structure on the undeside of the neck? A waddle, or some sort of chamber for water?
Same way they get into land oysters, bite it open to get to the squishy bits inside. I can imagine them shoving their heads in doorways and biting off chunks until they can fit.

It almost functions like an industrial machine continually increasing the stress it applies on something through steampower or a vacuum
Both exist in an arms race! They can crush the shield of the Bastionback, who in turn can withstand the pressure for MUCH longer than other species- giving time for retaliation!

I think it’s in there instincts, they are born alone anyways so it might be impossible to tame.

Typically where there are young dragons, there would reasonably be mature dragons that will definitely tear you apart.
