Looks great! My wife had a ‘75 (door jam had a date of 09/74!) when I met her in ‘82… I loved it! I had an RX7 at the time. When my daughter came along the In ‘84, the Mazda was traded fo a new Wolfsburg Jetta, which became hers. I started to do a lot of work on the Scirocco, ultimately to find a weld in the frame by the driver front wheel. Bad JuJu! Fun car! (Not quite as fun as the RX, though…) Loooong gears! Now that this video is four years old, I’m curious how it came out (newer 16V DOHC and all…) Cheers! ✌🏻😎🎹🌴🌞
The "Before" was better than my driver in the late 80's lol. Very nice. Steering wheel is different than the various ones I had. Headlights funky too - south american? I'm a big fan of the euro bumpers too.
Probably the cleanest most rust free scirocco I chassis I've seen. Is that a PL or 9A motor??? The only thing I would've changed as far as I can see is added the ABF euro 50mm intake manifold. The stock ones are 40 or 42mm and you definitely see some gains with the 50mm if you aren't going short runner or ITB. You've got all the right stuff otherwise. Great work.
I had a
Brand new 76. Sonnengelb with yellow and black plaid seats. This brings back memories

I always thought Scricco's were sharp cars. Especially the late 70s. Good job on the restoration . Awesome

Did you use the original motor? Are there any modern vw drive trains that will bolt into a scirocco?
all of them pretty much! a modern 1.4T would be a great match.
Original engine was a SOHC 8V. The DOHC 16V engines didn't come to VW until about a decade later.
What the cost for fully restored?
Absolut super! Leider kein deutsches Auto...#Mein erster war ein 77er GTI
Where did u buy the door panels and the trim peices???
Is it for sale :)
