How To Customize MIUI Like a PRO!

- Despite many user complaints, we still can't use third party launchers and gestures on phones running MIUI. And so, for those of us who love using gestures and customization, we still have to rely on using some nifty tricks to customize the stock MIUI launcher.
Here are all the tricks I use!

Miui should bring an update to support navigation gesture with launchers
There is a workaround, with second space

@@Jotaro_kun4k20 NOt really oficial, and you will need FNG, then create a second space apply gestures, and in the main space the navbar vanish, but you really need FNG for control it, right now i am using nova launcher thanks to this

I'm so happy that you've released this video, I just got a miui device the poco f4 a few weeks ago and at first I used three button navigation with nova launcher then used some third party app to mimic the gestures but it's just not as fluid so now seeing this is a lifesaver because at one point I was thinking of rooting my phone.

Lemme school you a bit about customizing Miui Sammy. You don't need any of that stuff. All you need is Smart Launcher 6 and Setedit. Setedit only needs one adb command (it's easy as pie), you then tap on global system, scroll down to FORCE_FSG_NAVBAR, and set the value to 1. And that's it, You don't need any of the needlessly complicated stuff you did in this video. I then use Full Screen Gestures which gives you 10 Gestures on the bottom and sides of the screen. I've been using these 3 apps for years now and they work like a bomb😉

after using many phone brands from apple, samsung, xiaomi, vivo, huawei and oneplus. I realized that the simpler the interface, the smoother and more efficient it is. so I always customize the interface for the phone as simple as possible
deliver power to costumize its great, a brand costumize for you isnt.

I've been using Xiaomi MIUI for a few years and I switched to Moto just yesterday and I gotta say I sort of miss MIUI 😂
Of course out of the box it can be a bit annoying but the more you personalise it and take out all the draw backs it has got, like bloatwares and sorts. It really shines. But yeah, its not for everyone.
Same lmao but now i'm getting back to miui because of the new phone it's still hard to adapt.
Same , i all time miui user , from Redmi note 8 > Xiaomi mi10T > mi 11 , now considering upgrade to xiaomi 13 😂 i really uncomfortable using other os , idk why , 😊miui is perfect for me
Hey Sam you can use FNG for gestures with third party launchers. Just create a swipe up gesture to launch the specific launcher and you’ll be good to go.
FNG usually isnt as smooth as navigation gestures tho
Yeh that's true. There's slight jitter at times. But it's get the job done.

Blank icon is no longer supported in the current Android version. Also why is my drawer turning to custom icons I don't want to affect them.

actually, you can USE 3RD PARTY LAUNCHERS. but you have to TURN ON THE 3 BUTTON NAVIGATION FIRST.
after that, HEAD ON TO SETTINGS THEN APPS, FIND THE "SYSTEM LAUNCHER" APP AND THEN "CLEAR DEFAULTS". when you press the HOME BUTTON, installed 3rd part launchers will APPEAR and choose one of them as your DEFAULT HOME APP.

I have Redmi Note 8T with MIUI 12.5 and I'm using KLWP. I made interactive wallpaper inspired by Windows 11 with taskbar with weather, time, date and start menu button; 2-page start menu with apps; action center with music player and toggles when I finally buy Tasker; and support of lite/dark theme

I have one problem with the darkinator app and that is that the wallpaper doesn't apply to the lockscreen for some reason even though i have selected both screens when applying the wallpaper. Please help with this
Edit: I rebooted my phone and it got applyed but I don't know if I'll have to reboot it every time I want to change wallpapers.
Is there any status bar customization app which has search panel in the status bar to quickly launch any apps it would be great can you contact developers to bring this feature in status bar like miui app developer should include search bar in status bar itself
You can almost have a Nova Launcher experience using Microsoft Launcher. Albeit without the gestures.
Knowing it's MIUI, you need to make the third-party apps set to auto start, else it will just kill those apps after a long time, or they won't start after a reboot.
I don't know about killing because I've been using this for a few days now and I used to use kwgt for months and months and it didn't do anything.

I just bought my poco f5 and one of the first things I did was download nova prime. I was so excited to use it, however the gesture navigation doesn't support the 3rd party launcher as you stated in this video, and it's a shame. Since I came from realme, i did purchase nova prime only because it can hide the status bar. I definitely love the look of it hidden, and also because I noticed that there's an amoled burn-in visible on the status bar area on my previous phone, so I definitely want to prevent that. I hope you can suggest some great apps, or ways of hiding the status bar. Cheers🎉
You'll need to root or use adb to hide the status bar.

@@Mix-vo3ieYou don't need root at all. All you need is Smart Launcher 6, Setedit, and Full Screen Gestures. Smart launcher will hide the status bar AND the nav buttons but it only hides the buttons on the home screen. To hide them system wide, you use Setedit. It needs one adb permission, it's so easy to do, and Full Screen Gestures gives you 10 Gestures and it's very smooth.

I installed nova launcher on my mi9t pro after 6 months of use since i got fed up of the ugly poco launcher , i uninstalled it using ADB and then i saw that gestures work with nova launcher !
Could you explain the process and after getting updates it goes or it remains same
@@yeswanthreddy3079 well k20 pro doesn't receive any updates anymore even when it did nothing affected it. There's a beebom guide on their site on how to uninstall apps using ADB refer that. And the app u need to uninstall is Poco launcher.
Follow all the steps in order and it takes only 2-5mins

Do certain devices running MIUI not allow third-party launchers? I have a non-rooted default ROM Poco X3 Pro running MIUI 14, Android 13 and third-party launchers work perfectly fine, except for gestures.
All allow third-party launchers, just gestures don't work
