I wanna be able to drive like this someday. MY GOODNESS you are so smooth with the wheel! It might have been better that it was raining so you have quite a bit more fun and not burn through tires or have to go much higher speeds!
Awesome Video. You inspired me to give it a try. I'm from Brazil and got a RR too. One thing you mentioned that the traction control didnt like transitions, on a review video I saw, when the guy was chatting with a ford engineer, he said that to prevent loss of control, the TC would engage as soon as the wheel reach the center. So it would let you have a big slide to the side, but as long as you dont reach the center, it would not engage. If you watch you video again with that in mind, you can clearly notice the intervention when the wheel reaches 12 o'clock! If you want, I can look for the video.
Interesting! That makes sense with it kicking in as the wheel returns to center on a transition. I'll play around with it a bit more in the dirt here soon. If you remember which video that was with the reviewer/Ford engineer, post it up here, I'd like to watch that.
“I asked Ranger Raptor Program Manager and affable Australian, Justin Capicchiano what was going on. He said basically that the truck would let you have the your first big, satisfying slide, but that they didn’t want drivers chasing big slides and getting into trouble trying to correct them. So, once the wheel comes back to center from slide one, power is reduced and the truck settles down. He said that once you know this, you can drive around it and still have fun, which as I found out on the larger, faster Baja course, is true. It’s just a thing you have to learn.”
@@TheTopher I tried to send you the link but I dont know if its moderated or not allowed, just google Jalopnik Ranger Raptor, and the first article that shows up is the one I read about the 12 o'clock. The title is (The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor Is Exactly What You Want It To Be), also, take a look at the TH-cam video from TFLtalk with the title ( I Ask Ford's Performance Chief All the Tough Questions About the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor!). Ive learnt a lot from these two.
I feel like these will sell quick(if found at msrp) beside its cheaper then a fully loaded 4th gen tacoma. Even if it lacks some tech aspects, but hell you got the 3.0L v6 right!
I’ll be taking my ranger raptor to holly oaks orv in a few weeks, what would you recommend airing tires down to, if at all? First time doing any off roading in any truck let alone my ranger 😅
@@derkarmaczarwith the chassis in Baja mode and then changing the drive back to 2WD then locking the rear differential it allows you to have it locked any speed you want plus can brake + accelerate together endlessly for burnouts
Been hoping you would do a video like this! Great stuff Topher! How would you rate your overall ownership experience so far? I ordered mine in April, exactly how you ordered yours, still waiting for a build date
I could see it helping some, just not sure how much. I was surprised I never ran into brake fade tbh, the brakes on the Tacoma Trailhunter were done after a few fast corners when driving it in CA. Ford must have a good set of pads on the RR. I know the calipers are beefed up vs. the Bronco. Pleasantly surprised 👍
You know it’s going to be a good video when the thumbnail shows a right turn and the Topher has the wheel to the left 😅
"Turn right to go left"
And you can see it’s a truck from the thumbnail as well!
You know it's good when both TheTopher and TopherDrives upload two minutes within each other
I just watched topherdrives and now I'm here watching the Topher
So cool that this truck can do this from the factory- truly a well tuned performance truck. Can’t wait to see more Ranger raptor content!
the 3rd person angles were siiick
Watching a Ranger Raptor on a track, in the rain, might be the greatest thing I’ve seen on TH-cam all week!
Also I love how the video title makes it sound like he's just doing a standard wet-road review of the truck
No rollover risk here absolutely!
Always fun to get to see how next level your driving skills really are. Love the truck!
Gosh that just looks so fun.
Nice driving skills, too!
Now that looks like fun ! The Ranger Raptor sure looks like fun on and off the track! Cant wait to get behind the wheel of one! :)

That must have been loads of fun, keep up the great work 👍👍
Man, watching u drift the ford fckin ranger raptor around m1 is just awesome!!! 🤣🤣🔥
Reminds me of gran turismo 5 and my drift car of choice was a Dodge Ram 1500 with a ballast in the back :')
Awesome video! I need to do this!
It’s raining here in FL and I have a Ranger Raptor, so stopped watching this and went out for a drive instead lol

Great video man! Ford done good with this Ranger Raptor! The want is bad…
Awesome video
looks like a ton of fun in the ranger lmao
man i really want to see that rear diff lock action!
This makes me wanna have a Ranger Raptor 🔥🔥
I see my garage haha great video
I was contemplating between this and the ZR2… I’ve made my decision
Absolutely Impressive truck woohoo ❤
It doesn’t seem sketchy. I would definitely consider this in spite of the automatic transmission and the fancy transfer case.
You can hear the truck begging for a manual gearbox...
More videos like this❤🎉
I'd love to see how the colorado zr2 would do in this same scenario

I wanna come too 😂
Brother! How do you compare the f150 and ranger raptor driving dynamics?? I’m on the fence on which one to pull the trigger on.

I’d take it down to 20-25 psi, have fun!
First thing I’m gna do is remove that damn raptor sticker if I ever owned one of these..
🔥🦖💪😁👍💥🚀
Can you not fully turn off TC in this car? Idk why the transition would be a problem unless you can’t full turn off TC
why not turn the rear diff lock on it would make drifting easier right? I wanna try this in an xterra lol you should review one.
I think it's really designed more for offroad use, so higher chance of blowing things up maybe if you're on paved surfaces?
It only stays locked up to 20 mph

@@2011buddylee I may end up doing that. Were you able to get it for MSRP? The dealer I ordered it from is selling it to me for MSRP
Does the rain help with cooling down of the brakes etc.? Or a non factor? Just curious.

Ranger Raptor for sale, low miles, never off road. Adult owner
The ranger raptor is more fun in the roads and the f150 is more fun on of road things
could you share where you got the little mirrors yo added to the side mirrors please?
Thanks
Autozone/O'Reilly's, most auto parts stores have them for a few dollars
Anybody else get nervous as hell when he was going 70
I'm early, where is everyone ?
❤❤hi
It sounds *so* bad
Hi. Please give me this rapror
