    I use the same rule of 3 like the Singletrack Sampler does. If I can't make a feature in just three attempts, I save it for another ride. Once you start getting tired and frustrated, you'll more than likely make the mistake that gets you hurt. The trail isn't going anywhere and there are other days.
    Definitely like the looks of the 7, keep up the great reviews

    One big difference between the previous generation and this generation is the Through-Axle at the rear. Prior to this model the Roscoe had a open rear dropout. This limits wheel selection for replacements and is a less accurate and durable set up.

    You can't aproach every climb going pedaling, like you were fast flowing pedaling. Sometimes you need to stop the bike, and make hops with the bike to position your wheels, make a few pedal kicks over one wheel, some side hops, and time your pedal kicks. And those are techniques you are not developed yep. Learn to hop with the bike in one place, learn to do pedal kicks on the back wheel, then do it with hops on the back wheel. Those are trial techniques that are going to push you to another level. There are lots of tutorials over youtube, like the channel of "super rider" and there is one kid called "Jordi sala biker", that is going to show all this climbing techniques in his videos. Anyway, I appreciate your honesty saying you couldn't do it, other people would have edited the video. I love this riding videos. Cheers!

      I was thinking the same thing as you can't just plow or pedal up certain spots. Sometimes front and rear wheel lift is required to get up and over. But you said better than I did lol.

    @sportmedtech 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    The frames on the Roscoe 7, 8 and 9 are all exactly the same. So what you are paying for is component spec on anything higher than the 7. Honestly the things that I upgraded on my roscoe 7 were the fork(38mm Domain) brakes(SLX 4 pistons) touch points (WTB Volt, RevGrips, PNW pedals) and dropper(PNW Loam 170mm) but the bike it totally capable as I bought it. I am just a Clydesdale and needed more fork and stopping power. I did replace the tires but not until I wore them out. I would consider the tires, a general purpose of lean more towards cross country style riding tire. I have noticed that they’re a very light tire for as big as they are and they have a tendency to weep Stans sealant. like they will just leak right through the sidewall. But I told you Matty they kinda sucked. LOL Overall this bike is pretty solid. And if trek lowered the price another $100 it would probably be THE “hardcore hardtail” for the masses. I think it’s about $100-$150 too expensive for what you get still. Or trek can give you better brakes than the MT200’s.

    Personally I'm not a massive fan of the Bontrager tires. They are cross country tires, and weren't really suitable for the rocky, gravely conditions here in Phoenix.
    I had to swap them out with a Specialized Butcher for the front, and Specialized Purgatory for the rear.
    But that being said. The Roscoe 7 is a perfect beginner's bike. With an upgradable platform for when they eventually progress.

But if you are a heavier rider then the fork will be so much better and therefore the whole bike transforms Into a beast. To me it is just that. 7 is a great entry bike and more ❤

    Hello sir. My wife has had her Roscoe 7 for less than two months and we have been changing tires after about 14 days. Because as she said, pedaling on those 2.6" tires was insane purgatory.
    I put a 2.4" (Maxxis DHR) on her rear wheel and a 2.5" (Maxxis DHF) on the front and now she is thrilled with the bike. She says the bike is noticeably lighter, pedals faster and is more nimble when riding off-road.

    I’m liking these demo videos and appreciate you pointing out the bike’s strengths and weaknesses. I especially appreciate your impressions on the tires, which frankly are typically something that’s going to be swapped out anyway. After struggling with techs rides on a Marlin 7 I’ve been looking at the Roscoe 7 or even a Gen 3 Marlin 7 should I opt to stick to XC.
    PS: what are the stock pedals like? I know the Marlins are pretty basic and lacked grip. If the Roscoes are anything like that I would blame them and not the shoes.

    Good video...nice attempt on that tech climb. But most of the time when you can't clean the tech portion, it's usually the skill of the rider and not the bike or tires.
    I doubt I could clear that myself either. But I'm pretty sure a more skilled rider could clear it with that same bike.
    Know your own limitations and don't blame the bike.
    Hopefully you don't take offense to this comment...just my 2 cents.
