I can understand why it would be an favourite of Ale. Not only does she have an interesting bass line to play, but The Warning are collectively perfectionists and Ale is, arguably, the leader in perfectionism. I also like that when they do make mistake on stage they glance at each other and grin which shows perfectionism with perspective, which the hypothetical person they are writing to, doesn't have. Collectively, they are the most intellectual rock band I've listened to, nosing out Floyd and The Beatles (maybe) and even Rush, especially given The Warning's tender ages.
I respect your opinion, but you must be pretty young.( or maybe not) There is absolutely zero intellect in anything by The Beatles. The End. As far as Rush and Floyd? Again, you must be young( or not )or Blinded by Love. All perfectly understandable. So Let’s forget Floyd for now… Rush has countless albums with songs, that aren’t heard by all, that are of a very high IQ quality. You obviously don’t know anything about Neal Peart and his vast knowledge of literature, and mathematics. The literature used to inspire some of his intellectual penning of the infamous Rush lyrical catalog. Or his application of ingenious mathematical knowledge applied to some of the most unparalleled drumming ever known to mankind.Geddy Lee is a Bass master, of which many Bassist of all genres seek advice, and have for 40 years. Alex Lifeson has written and developed some of the most cutting edge guitar tracks of which it is nearly impossible to comprehend. Do some research before making such an unfounded comparison between The Warning and a band like Rush. And I love The Warning. So don’t think I’m criticizing them here. I would say they are truly the best new Young band out there right now. Enormous potential and talent. Time will tell. I really like the new stuff, but love the old stuff. The difference? They had to sign. It’s the nature of the business. The only way to keep the machine going forward. So far so good. Super intelligent young ladies, but they simply haven’t been alive long enough ( literally) to be compared to Rush, other than they are a very talented 3 piece. And the record companies might insist on a 4th player ( guitar) at some point in time. Sad But True. Now there’s a cover they should do. Every Female singer or band has done - You Outta Know. Awesome Break Down of this masterpiece... This is a great day for Daniella Villarreal she was gifted an Orianthi Signature model Guitar that's very expensive. Dany's Dream Guitar 🎸😮😳😲🥹😅😂😊😄🤗😁
Great reaction (as always) I do agree 100% that it's an underrated gem. This song could easily be most artist's best song, yet it gets overlooked in this album. This and 'Automatic Sun' are a perfect pairing for Alternative streaming/radio. You also changed my opinion on the song's meaning. I believed the relationship or the person they were referring to was 'us' the 'fans'. I felt this song and others on the album represent their internal feelings about dealing with fan's expectations, criticisms, demands etc were starting to become overwhelming. Not always necessarily in a negative manner, but also the pressure they put on themselves to always be perfect. Either perfect on stage or perfect as people. I sometimes read comments by not just fans but Patreon members complaining, having certain expectations etc. These songs were also written after 'More' came out, and we all know how that turned out. Many "fans" criticizing them online for the direction their music was headed etc. Not to mention the haters. But you made me look at it from a different pov now. Thanks for your insights as always.
It is such a great song- I'm glad you got something out of this video! But I don’t think that means your interpretation is incorrect. I think a song can have many valid meanings! Thanks so much for sharing and for being here! 😊⚡️🤘🏻
I suspect you are both right. The Warning does this so very well. All lyrics are subject to veiwers interpretation, but TW deliberately write their lyrical content to be multi conceptual. Sometimes at a tiny level, sometimes at a whole theme level. So brilliantly, on occasion, that even the same person can be channelled into a different theme on different listenings, and stay embraced in that theme for one listening and change next listening. I remain astounded by the quality of their lyrics. I was about to say only the first album was a touch weak ( for the Warning) then remembered "Copper Bullets", and instantly changed my mind. Oh yeah... and all in their second language...
I loved the analysis, Nena! I wonder if there's a little more to some of it - namely the difference between their use of "I fade away" in the first part and "I break away" in the second. It almost seems that "fading away" is an unintentional result of all of the demands/drama/whatever, thinning their essence out, over time. In the second part, they could have used the line "piece by piece just breaks away", but they didn't. The use of "piece by piece I break away" could mean that they are intentionally breaking off pieces of their "self", so that they give the recipient less and less, each time. An example would be not giving as much effort, attention, whatever, because every time the other party comes back, it seems like they're not happy with what was provided, before. So, the song could be progressing from "are you satisfied?" meaning "did you get what you wanted?", at the beginning, to a "I hope you're happy with what I gave you, because that's more than you deserve." at the end. Another thought is that "I break away" could be interpreted as "I escape", so bit by bit, I escape your clutches. Maybe the end result is them leaving the other person in the dust, with a final, "tell me, are you satisfied?"
@@SDsailor7 It could be applied to a lot of things. It could be a way of telling the fans that 100+ shows a year are too much. It could be about the tons of marketing they do - about relationships we know nothing about - or hundreds of other things.

Spot on as always🤘love these analyses. Definitely a toxic relationship… with someone, something OR oneself. (Perhaps the gaslighting, gatekeeping, girlboss from Que Mas Quieres?🤔 or perhaps it’s the MORE box😮) I lean to the oneself idea though. To me that last line is definitely a mirror question. And the “don’t say it…” clearly an admonishment to oneself. Perhaps the reason is external but the drive to “complete, obey, perfect” (to satisfy😉) is often internal. To quote Pau: “I feel like I have to be perfect all the time”.
Well, I’m pretty sure the song isn’t bout a personal relationship. They’ve made it quite clear of that in multiple interviews. The whole album is about touring as much as they have. Two years non stop. Almost 200 shows in a dozen countries and the chaos, pain and exhaustion. Love your videos.
They have been improving lyrically, now with external support. I hope they retain their youthful spontaneity. If they continue on this upward trajectory musically and lyrically speaking, in about 10 years they will easily be alongside the bands and singers that most consider rock icons.
I think they have had great lyrics from the start, they are just evolving! Perhaps it is due to the external support. I agree they will be considered rock icons - SOON! :)
Right back to the start, sorry for being late my notifications don’t seem to be working 🙄 I sort of wonder if this might be based around a narcissistic relationship, my son got out of one a couple of years ago best thing he ever did, she hadn’t far off destroyed his self esteem and confidence. He’s in a much better place now, and has a really nice partner now.
I think TW saved their favorites for last. After the full release, in some of their interviews they list their later songs as some of their faves. (Sharks, Satisfied, Apologize, Escapism) It could be because it was such a surprise to hear such good songs remaining on the album. Something that rarely occurs with an entire album. Something we'll never know, but I'm with you liking the later releases more.
It seems that maybe they released the singles they did because they wrote and recorded them first and they were anxious to get new music out, but the later songs just got better and better. I could be wrong :-)
Like the rest of the album, I believe the relationship they are writing about is the band with their audience/fandom. That is the concept of the album I think. The more I listen to the whole album, the more disturbed (and amazed at the same time) I am by their growing awareness of the toxic nature of fandom, music industry, parasocial relationships, and their life of touring and being so public. Disturbed by my self awareness of our part in it, and amazed at how they seem to channel their anger/frustration/fear/confusion/loss directly into the songs, perhaps being able to rise above it as a result? ( edit: I can see others have come to similar conclusions)
@ I was too. But encouraged by how they seem to use the music itself to let out the negative side of things. And, that they seem to have such a super support network of family and a tight-knit team
It's definitely possible! This specifically has been a theme on many songs on this album, so it definitely could be continued here. Thanks so much for sharing! :)
Hey Nena ! Thank you so much for the great analysis ! It's perfect as always, so I've got nothing to add. Satisfied is definetely a gem on the album, both musically and lyrically. I can definetely see why it's Ale's favorite, as that type of dynamic is a pretty common one for INFJ's in all types of relationships and the song is such a powerful reminder to not let it happen. I think it has a very personal meaning to her. Yes, KMF can really be considered as a concept album because of the reoccuring themes. I think it is due to the fact that the girls write about very personal things they're going thru at that moment, so the topics end up being closely linked to one another. I think this can also be seen on Error with the topics there being linked to self-growth, self-love and associated "rebellion" in the context of society at large, whereas KMF is more centered on interpersonal relationships. Have a wonderful weekend and take care 🤗🤗💛
@@psychologyofrock Thank you so much! You're very welcome, I love being here and having the opportunity to share thoughts with you 😊🤗🤗 Thank you so much being here and for making all these wonderful videos that so much food for thought 💛💛
It was biggest surprise from unreleased songs, when KMF came out. I like it a lot. Very groovy and the pre chorus and chorus are easy to remember and singing along. And as usual, live version is even better, Thanks for your lovely reaction, Nena.
The pre chorus sounds so familiar to me. The first time I heard it I was reminded of something, but I don't know what. I don't always identify with songs about relationships, but Satisfied is a great song. I am not in a romantic relationship, but others have said it could be about a professional relationship and that I do identify with. I have worked with people who want something done differently just to show that they have the control. I don't see a problem in doing something differently as long as the job gets done safely and efficiently.(I think I wrote a new motivational poster with the previous sentence.) I usually cave and do things their way, arguing about who's way is right doesn't get the job done. In a relationship I want someone who is an equal partner. You should check out Artemis Spell by Artemised. They are a rock duo from Italy, Manuela is the lead singer/Drummer and Michela is the Bassist and she sings background vocals. I found them when they covered S!ck. Artemis Spell is their first original song, it's very good but doesn't have many veiws yet. The TH-cam algorithm is a strange thing!
Yes! I agree! The pre-chorus reminds me of another song, but I can't place it for the life of me. I thought that the first time I heard it! Such a fantastic part in the song. Also, thank you for the suggestion, I will check them out!
My favorite from KMF will probably always be Escapism, but I definitely feel like this one is most profound ⚡⚡⚡ Your analysis was scaring me with how accurate I think it is, although I get a different conclusion somehow. 🔥⚡🔥⚡🔥⚡🔥 Great video as always!! ✌️💖🎼🎶
You actually broke down your analysis much deeper with this one than you with others in the past. To the point where you probably nailed better than before. I would hope that Pau got wind of your breakdown to say you nailed it too. Good job girl.⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️
I wanted all you people to tell me... ...ARE YOU SATISFIED????!!! 😄🤟 P.S. check out the collab from Dany with the one and only Orianthi playing Back in Black (even if it's only a fan cam)
It’s like when you clean the house and someone says, "It’s fine, but why didn’t you move the couch?" You try to be perfect, but in the end, you’re just left asking, "Are you satisfied yet?
Another great analysis Nena! Their lyrics are always impressive and Satisfied is no exception, especially in the pre-chorus. The lyrics not only scan well but they have great depth of meaning and balance beautifully with the rest of the song. Simply brilliant!🤘
Deep cuts in an album can seem to simmer until, for what ever reason becomes a classic B-side that becomes a cult hit. This one just might be that one song that will boil up and catch on. I really like it. Thanks for another great analysis, Nena!
This was my favorite tune off the album on first listen. It just meshed together so well musically and lyrically, more so than most of the rest of the tunes on KMF.
I love this song and don’t know why this is not any alternative radio stations, ‘ cause I believe it would be a hit. After Automatic Sun, HYCAD & More this is my favorite song. My favorite part is after the lead, the sustained guitar with just the bass and drums creating a groove.
I got to say that too many of their songs (and your analysis) match me and my life. Martirio, Burnout, now this analysis (which is why I really like this song). The biggest problem is between self depreciation and narcissistic partner comments (probably because her life) there was and is never enough self courage to escape. I love their music, been supporting them since the beginning and love all they have done. I just wish it was not so close to my personal experiences.
Hi Joe! Thank you so much for sharing. I'm sorry you've had some negative experiences - I hope the music helps uplift you and reminds you that you are not alone!
The "relationship" might not be with an individual. I think anyone living much of their life as a public figure feels pressure to play a role, to develop a public persona that fits the expectations of the public. Perhaps Satisfied is referring to the psychological fallout of this and the effect it has on how others perceive and interact with you. I sense similarities to Limelight by Rush, but on an even more personal level. I believe living as a public figure interferes with your personal life in ways most of us have no awareness of.
Satisfied is in my top 3 favs from KMF. For me this song bridges the gap between Error and Keep Me Fed, it's cerebral and has a sophisticated chord progression. Their cerebral stuff *is sooo good,* Error, 23, Satisfied, HYCAD, to name some. Those songs are more the direction I was hoping they were headed in as a follow up to Error. Not complaining, KMF has some real gems!.
I love this song, too, and agree it's a sleeper, likely to remain underappreciated. If I only have time to watch one song from Pol'And'Rock, it's this one. The lyrics are less metaphorical than many of the songs on Error, but they're still excellent, which is invariably the case with The Warning. If there's a way to interpret these lyrics differently, I hope I find it in the comments. Burnout, which you've already analyzed, is another pea in their sleeper, likely underappreciated pod and, I think, lyrically connected to Satisfied.
I definitely feel like it’s at least on the edge of being a concept album. Several themes woven throughout the album that appear in many different tracks. Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts! 😊⚡️⚡️⚡️🤘🏻
I kinda wonder if TW still have some unresolved or unrealized baggage from some of their early experiences in their career. The difference being that now they have learned how to express those feelings as adults from a more advanced and introspective manner. They are extraordinary at dabbling in metaphorical expression.
Satisfied and Escapism are just so dark and telling of a toxic relationship that it almost hurts my soul to listen to Dany sing it- hoping that there is no truth in it to her or anyone else in the band.
Hi. I believe the song is about their relationship with their fans and/or the music industry but is deliberately told through the extended metaphor of a personal relationship. This format/conceit is used on a number of songs on the album, HYCAD being the most obvious one, and is a thick strand in the KMF concept. I think they’ve done it this way because they don’t want to make their ‘complaints’ about their lives explicit because they fully accept the dark side to the bargain they have made.
I, for one, am very satisfied with what they gave me, when they released this album. Well, I am actually more than satisfied with just about anything they do. I think they make a lot of people happy, just by sharing their talent and intelligence with us, and by being the people they are. I am also satisfied with this video, and your thoughts 😊
@@psychologyofrock Thanks! 😊 Yeah, doing well, just having a calm saturday evening at home with my cats, playing games, and relaxing in front of my fish tank. I hope you're doing great as well 😊🤘⚡️
@@psychologyofrock Yup, a much needed break from work. Now I'm just browsing through some reactions to Nightwish, Lovebites, Nemophila, and, of course, The Warning 😁 Looking forward to your next breakdown of DPA's amazing lyrics.
I think your analysis is right, though I'll add that "bleeding rust" is IMO part of becoming a machine. However, I have a different take because of how it hits me personally: I can read it as being about autistic masking. That's still about a toxic relationship, but with society rather than an individual. Turning yourself into a machine, obeying the neurotypical rules and perfecting your ability to satisfy others, telling yourself you don't care, letting pieces of the real you gradually break away, atrophying, fading...it's so draining, but if you can do it maybe the bullying will stop? Maybe you'll be accepted? I learned it was the way to go between the ages of 5 and 10, and short-term the benefits were huge (people mostly stopped beating me up for one thing). However, I've done it for over 50 years, and it's taken its toll; unfortunately I still haven't quite figured out how to stop. I strongly doubt that this interpretation was intended when they wrote it, but it works for me. I think it's my second-favourite song on the album.
Consume, Escapism and Satisfied are three of my favorites non singles from KMF, but the whole album is great, loved the analysis and for the most part agree with it. 🤘

I’m so glad to hear that. Yes, these types of toxic relationships can really do a number on self-esteem and self-worth. Happy he escaped! 😊🤘🏻
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
😊⚡️🤘🏻
I ended up liking the non-singles from KMF the most. I think a lot of fans feel the same, just based on reading comments on YT.
Totally!!!!! 💯 ⚡️😊🤘🏻
I think TW saved their favorites for last. After the full release, in some of their interviews they list their later songs as some of their faves. (Sharks, Satisfied, Apologize, Escapism)
It could be because it was such a surprise to hear such good songs remaining on the album. Something that rarely occurs with an entire album.
Something we'll never know, but I'm with you liking the later releases more.
It seems that maybe they released the singles they did because they wrote and recorded them first and they were anxious to get new music out, but the later songs just got better and better. I could be wrong :-)
@@psychologyofrock Very iuteresting idea that makes sense, now that you mention it.
@@psychologyofrock however the release was designed, it kept us perfectly fed....:)
I thought the same thing. Kind of worried about them burning out.
Lots of great thoughts here, Denis! I'm glad you love the song as much as I do! Thanks so much for being here! :)
@@psychologyofrock Thank you so much!
You're very welcome, I love being here and having the opportunity to share thoughts with you 😊🤗🤗
Thank you so much being here and for making all these wonderful videos that so much food for thought 💛💛
It was biggest surprise from unreleased songs, when KMF came out. I like it a lot. Very groovy and the pre chorus and chorus are easy to remember and singing along. And as usual, live version is even better, Thanks for your lovely reaction, Nena.
Yes! It is amazing how they bring these songs even further to life when they perform them live! ⚡️⚡️⚡️😊🤘🏻
My favorite from KMF will probably always be Escapism, but I definitely feel like this one is most profound ⚡⚡⚡
Your analysis was scaring me with how accurate I think it is, although I get a different conclusion somehow.
🔥⚡🔥⚡🔥⚡🔥
Great video as always!!
✌️💖🎼🎶
That’s the amazing thing about art - it’s open to interpretation. It can have many layers of meaning! 😊♥️ Thank you for watching, Daniel! ⚡️⚡️⚡️🤘🏻

You actually broke down your analysis much deeper with this one than you with others in the past. To the point where you probably nailed better than before. I would hope that Pau got wind of your breakdown to say you nailed it too. Good job girl.⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Thank you so much! Very glad you enjoyed it!
I wanted all you people to tell me...
...ARE YOU SATISFIED????!!!
😄🤟
P.S. check out the collab from Dany with the one and only Orianthi playing Back in Black (even if it's only a fan cam)
♥️♥️♥️⚡️🤘🏻
It’s like when you clean the house and someone says, "It’s fine, but why didn’t you move the couch?" You try to be perfect, but in the end, you’re just left asking, "Are you satisfied yet?
Great analogy! 😊🤘🏻
Yes, I’ve been in need of this one!
😊♥️⚡️🤘🏻
I'm interested to hear your analysis of Consume. As always, you have an interesting take on their songs.
It’s in the playlist! I hope you enjoy it! 😊🤘🏻⚡️
Another great analysis Nena! Their lyrics are always impressive and Satisfied is no exception, especially in the pre-chorus. The lyrics not only scan well but they have great depth of meaning and balance beautifully with the rest of the song. Simply brilliant!🤘
I completely agree! It is a masterpiece! ⚡️🤘🏻😊
Deep cuts in an album can seem to simmer until, for what ever reason becomes a classic B-side that becomes a cult hit. This one just might be that one song that will boil up and catch on. I really like it. Thanks for another great analysis, Nena!
It's such a beautifully crafted song! 😊⚡️🤘🏻
This was my favorite tune off the album on first listen. It just meshed together so well musically and lyrically, more so than most of the rest of the tunes on KMF.
This one stood out to me right away as well. I think the unreleased songs are the best on the album!
Hi Nena How's it going. Love Dany's solos and their harmonies
Yessss!!!! ♥️😊⚡️
I love this song and don’t know why this is not any alternative radio stations, ‘ cause I believe it would be a hit. After Automatic Sun, HYCAD & More this is my favorite song. My favorite part is after the lead, the sustained guitar with just the bass and drums creating a groove.
Yes! I com[pletely agree!
I think that’s definitely a possibility, Steve! Or simply an alternate interpretation! Thank you so much for sharing 😊🤘🏻⚡️
Yes! I so agree! :)
Very possible and I agree that they excel in metaphorical expression!
Satisfied and Escapism are just so dark and telling of a toxic relationship that it almost hurts my soul to listen to Dany sing it- hoping that there is no truth in it to her or anyone else in the band.
Yes, I agree! Actually, many of the songs on the album are lyrically dark!
I hope they collaborate with Holy Wars in the future. AGAIN
Yes!!!! The results are fantastic!!! 😊🤘🏻⚡️
Should be interesting, song as regards the interpretation 🤷♂️
such a great song!
🤘😘🤘
😊🖤⚡️🤘🏻
@psychologyofrock 🤗
⚡️⚡️🤘🏼⚡️⚡️
I wonder if they not speaking about their fans.
Could be! It wouldn’t be the only song 😊⚡️
What they’re doing is incredibly difficult and some of us are certifiably weird.
😂
There are no hidden gems on Keep Me Fed. They are all perfect jewels, cut, polished, and set by three immaculate stonecutters.
♥️♥️♥️⚡️😊🤘🏻
It is definitely a possibility! Thank you so much for sharing 😊⚡️⚡️⚡️🤘🏻
⚡️⚡️⚡️
😊⚡️⚡️⚡️🤘🏻
I am wanted dead or alive forever. My Department is G.O.D. Bon Jersey gets it
"Satsified" is my favorite song off "Keep Me Fed".
I can see why 😊⚡️🤘🏻
IMHO, the line "...please don't say it, it's such an easy lie," infers "don't say I love you," because that is such an easy lie...
💛💛💛
I, for one, am very satisfied with what they gave me, when they released this album. Well, I am actually more than satisfied with just about anything they do. I think they make a lot of people happy, just by sharing their talent and intelligence with us, and by being the people they are. I am also satisfied with this video, and your thoughts 😊
Great to hear from you! Hope you are doing fantastically well! 😊⚡️🤘🏻
@@psychologyofrock Thanks! 😊 Yeah, doing well, just having a calm saturday evening at home with my cats, playing games, and relaxing in front of my fish tank. I hope you're doing great as well 😊🤘⚡️
That sounds amazing! Enjoy! 😊
@@psychologyofrock Yup, a much needed break from work. Now I'm just browsing through some reactions to Nightwish, Lovebites, Nemophila, and, of course, The Warning 😁 Looking forward to your next breakdown of DPA's amazing lyrics.

So, Nena, will you be doing an analysis of "Apologize"?
YES!!!!!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️😊🤘🏻♥️
@psychologyofrock 😁🤘⚡
⚡️⚡️⚡️😊
I think you may be right! Thank you for sharing your connection to the song and the idea of autistic masking. I think it makes a lot of sense!
Consume, Escapism and Satisfied are three of my favorites non singles from KMF, but the whole album is great, loved the analysis and for the most part agree with it. 🤘
We have the same favorites! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
😊🤘🏻⚡️
