Have one and love it . Scoots right along . Good mpg and handling . Versatile. Under rated by far .

Ive bought a HHR because i had never seen one before, they are extremely rare here in the UK. The owner moved from Florida to the UK in 2008 putting the HHR in a shipping container with a black 1987 Buick, furniture and a sofa. I also have a yellow C3 Vette.

    Lol, funny stuff.
Bought a HHR for the wife in 2008. It is a 2007 2LT w/2.4L. It was Certified w/ 12,000 miles on it and had 3 years/36,000 warranty. We only gave $12,000 for it and the sticker for it a year prior was $25,000. She wanted a station wagon and there were few options similar (Subaru and Dodge Magnum). We looked at the PT Cruiser and we both hated it.
Get ready to gasp...... It has to be the most reliable "car" we have ever owned. It is also very inexpensive to buy parts for.
The 2.2 and 2.4 Ecotec are a reliable engines with the biggest flaw being the timing chain tensioners. We got the 2.4L for the 170+HP engine and the 2LT for the better suspension. My biggest gripe is the location of the window controls which they later corrected. We did not care for the running boards. We still have it and I have been using it as a daily driver since buying my wife an Impala. It has 116,000 on it currently and going strong. I drive the crap out of it.

7:35 I can’t list how many times I’ve had to gun it at lights just so people won’t honk at me and then the person next to me thinks I’m trying to race and flexes their 0-60 when I’m maxing 45 at the same rate

So, I got a 2006 HHR. 2.4 litre engine & 5 speed manual. It will get, completely empty and with one passenger, a tad over 30 MPG, 27 to 28 is more normal.
    I LOVE the darned thing!

I own a 2009 HHR...I prefer the HHR over the PT cruiser..You talk about the HHR as if it was a Bentley...What do you expect for 20K?

The same designer who made the PT cruiser came over to GM to over to honor the heritage of the 1949 Suburban! The engine in the PT uses a rubber band as the timing belt. When it goes it gets expensive to repair! This guy has a issue with Chevy! He sucks!

The PT cruiser is a pile of trash. Had 3 of them. Horrible cars. I just bought a HHR today at the auction time shall tell if it's a good used car.
