It's Stone Sour's First and still my all-time favorite SS album. This album came out sometime after IOWA and Corey was always thr frontman of SS and was with SS B4 Slipknot
If I didn't know this was stone sour I would swear this was slipknot. Perfect song for next nu metal monday is PYCHOSTICK NOEL!!!!!!!! it's a parody of system of a down byob. So technically new metal. Trust me that song will become a staple to your Christmas song list. Even serj would be proud of the parody. 😊
I believe Get Inside was SS’s first music video and it appeared in a couple of video games if I’m not mistaken. And honestly , SS’s genre varies from song to song: you have the heavy hitters like this song, Somebody Stole My Eyes and 30 30 150, to rock ballads like Sadist, Song #3 and Bother to country sounding songs like Zzyzx and St.Marie. That’s why I think SS is not for everybody just like Nu Metal. 😆
I believe Stone Sour came before Corey Taylor joined Slipknot. This was from their debut album and it’s considered to be their best album, it’s really raw and it does have slipknot vibes with the aggressiveness in the vocals. I believe Jim Root joined Stone Sour for their second album and thereafter, but I’m pretty sure I have heard Corey say in interviews that he was in Stone Sour prior to joining Slipknot
Stone Sour is fantastic to react to because there’s such a broad range of their music. You have heavy hitters like this & so many others, then the soft ballads, then the mixture of both on some. Great reaction guys!
NüMetal song for Christmas🎄: "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" By KoЯn I've never heard anyone consider Stone Sour to be NüMetal. The only way they are even remotely anywhere near being NüMetal is the fact that Corey is the singer. I'd say this is more a mix between Groove Metal and Grunge. Which is more what I consider Slipknot too. I never really considered Slipknot NüMetal either. Awesome reaction, though🤘🏼🤌🏼🔥
STONE SOUR earlier work used to be like this, even some of their later work are like that I'm not saying Slipknot lost it's aura, BUT Stone Sour and Slipknot are in basically at the same level of agressivity sometimes, every since Slipknot changed their sound to more of a melodic heavy one it rly started to sound like stone sour, anyway a song that deserves to be on Nu Metal Monday is MIND BY SYSTEM OF A DOWN! I've been suggesting "MIND" For AGES, PLZ do "MIND" it's 6 minutes long, btw dont forget the STUDIO VERSION OF SUITE PEE!!! plz!!!! Sorry if I sound a little desperate lol
This was from SS first album that came out a little after Iowa and yeah their first album was a lot heavier than their later albums. But the great thing about SS is they have a huge catalog with songs in nearly every genre you can think of.
Still waiting for you guys to react to their song "30/30-150". It's off the soundtrack to Jim Careys movie "#23". Rarely heard, but great. Same with the movie.
Stone Sour is early 90s. Jim was in this video! This is 2002. After Slipknot Iowa album. You can find a bunch of old stone sour songs and some of them, actually got remade for this 2002 stone sour album. pS Corey has a Christmas song!.
stonesour came before slipknot, they were recording this album before corey was asked to join slipknot and the first stonesour album was finished after the first slipknot album and tour, corey has been running both bands and his solo projects as well as writing from the begining
Dudes what a grateful notification to receive, I was just searching for reactions to this song yesterday and then now you upload it. Like suggestions, Orchids and Monolith are great songs from this album too
Corey Taylor started Stone Sour in 1992 and joined Slipknot in 1997. Jim Root (Slipknot) were a member in 1996-1997 and again from 2001-2014. Stone Sour took a break from 1997-2000.
Tha's not Billy from a Perfect Circle His name is Josh ... Check the dates, years Corey is in Stone Sour & Slipknot guitarist Jim Root used to be in Stone Sour then went to Slipknot ✌🏻😸✌🏻
This was from Stone Sours first album and this was the debut song released. My favourite SS song and that first album was 🔥 as well. Jim was the guitarist doing the 'backing vocals' Wasn't a fan of the later SS stuff.
Guys, it isn't EXACTLY appropriate, you may need to censor it a bit, but Corey Taylor released a song called X-M@$ that is legitimately my favorite Christmas song because I laugh every time.
This might be long, but it's a fun story (IMO). I was seeing a band a a couple years ago and one of the opening acts was called LIFE Project. Never heard of them, no clue who they were. But what was interesting is that the guitarist looked familiar, but I couldn't place him. I also thought Billy Howerdel for a moment but quickly dismissed it, as I knew he had APC and another band (or two). "Is that, actually... Josh Rand?" Sure as shit, it was. And that is the guitarist you're looking at. He's amazing, and it was so exciting to see him completely unexpected like that. Also, I just found your channel because I was watching a react video for Slipknot and got bored by it, then thought about Stone Sour, then about this song, wondering how many react videos there are of it, and you just reacted to it a few weeks ago. You guys are fun. Hope you enjoy the heavy aspects of Stone Sour.
This album was released to the mainstream after Iowa, but with the exception of Bother, this entire album was originally independently produced around a year or so before Corey joined Slipknot, it was actually at a show at the Safari Club where Stone Sour was listed to open for the original Slipknot line up, but due to Corey getting caught up waiting for his replacement to show up to the porn shop he worked at they ended up playing after Slipknot, that Corey was first approached by Shawn, Paul and Joey about joining the band, but Corey was a bit too drunk to talk so they set up a meeting for later instead, it was the material off this album that brought that about. At this show Corey beat the shit out of one of Slipknot's stage monitor speaker cabinets with one of Slipknot's mic stands during the performance of Tumult, bending the mic stand and putting some nice round dents in the cabinet
recommended tracks from this album - Orchids, Blotter. Monolith, Idle Hands, and Tumult, you can find all the elements Corey brought to Slipknot within these few tracks
You must to check out Stone Sour 1994 demo. Back in a day Corey says: I sounded like I had zero nuts and had been inhaling helium for years. ESPECIALLY i recommended track "I Can't Believe"
He's back!!! Yo merry effin Christmas!!! It's time it time for the greatest band on the planet. How about some Fear Factory!! The song is Powershifter!! Get it done son or u get some coal in ur stocking...lol. Love yall
Going of topic dudes I have been watching your channel for least 2 years now and you guys always make me smile with reactions it's so good to see people open minded with music I love how music brings people together but you guys should react to when will this end by the band korn belive me dudes the intro will hit you like a freight train best nu metal intro ever heard trust me
need more stone sour. 30/30-150, come what(ever) may, made of scars, digital (did you tell), say you'll haunt me, tired, do me a favor, song #3, fabuless. for christmas songs yes korn's kidnap the sandy claws as well as christmas in hollywood by hollywood undead and corey taylor"s xmas song
On the first question about variola it probably sounded to you like a woman's body part because areola in anatomy is the circle of skin around a nipple and in medicine a reddened patch of skin around a papule (a raised bump) and small pox was a virus that exhibited small bumps with a rash around them. So my guess would be same root word.
I never really thought of Stone Sour as Nu Metal. But I guess they have some elements of it. Another band I never thought of as Nu Metal was Chimaira since most of their catalog is New Wave of American Heavy Metal. But their first album is definitely Nu Metal. Please react to SP Lit (official video) or Dead Inside (live from Farmclub or from Coming Alive) Ps. I meant it when I said I'm recommending Chimaira every Nu Metal Monday until it happens.
I knew this kid from high school and he got a CD that had a two singles from this album including this one. He was so excited about it. It also had Bother on it but when he got the full album he was disappointed cuz it didn't sound like it because it didn't sound enough like Slipknot like get inside did
This is sours greatest album this whole album is art should check it out the song blotter is genius you can hear his vocals but you can hear some knot in this album to the album is a masterpiece keep rocking on dudes🤘
I got a really good one for you guys to react to for Christmas day it's not a Christmas song but you could consider it Nu-Metal it's the X-ECUTIONERS feat. Mike Shinoda and the song is called "It's Goin Down" and I'm sure you guys will love it! Oh and Merry Christmas boys!
There's still a lot of people who view "Nu-Metal" as an insult to the music, when it should just be the classification of mid 90's to mid 2000's metal with a hint of hip hop influence and emotional vulnerability in the lyrics.
I entirely disagree. Slipknot is genre locked, they can't change the sound. Stone Sour was where Corey could so ANYTHING because they didn't establish a sound. For example, they have spoken word tracks, soft track, jazzy tracks. They could just have fun and do anything. Slipknot light? No. Entirely different idea.
Corey Taylor's XM@$ or something, but Corey did a Christmas song that he put out with the intention of messing with Simon for X factor as they where trying to get one of their songs to hit number one in England and a Corey did the same thing with his Christmas song. Corey won, by the way, and his song got to number one on Christmas, and the video is hilarious.
It's Stone Sour's First and still my all-time favorite SS album. This album came out sometime after IOWA and Corey was always thr frontman of SS and was with SS B4 Slipknot

Not to mention spoken word tracks like Omega and The Frozen.
Inside the Cynic is another great heavy one!
I may be wrong but Get Inside and Bother were the first two singles we all heard on the radio …??
Their self titled album is flawless guys. Listen to the whole thing. Not a bad song in it. The deluxe edition had 19 tracks.
Jim was there for the debut onwards, and therefore is in this music video.
Corey was in Stone Sour before Slipknot, but reformed after Iowa. Jim wasnt in the pre Slip lineup.
Stone Sour is fantastic to react to because there’s such a broad range of their music. You have heavy hitters like this & so many others, then the soft ballads, then the mixture of both on some. Great reaction guys!
the whole first album of Stone Sour is great and I cant stop listening to blue study and blotter its so timeless and unique
Great choice on this one guys. Stone Sour has so much range in their sound, they’re definitely qualified for Nu Metal Monday
I forgot this song existed, I loved it when I first found out about Stone Sour back in the day.
digging the maximum overdrive shirt bud

Jingle Bells (* Balls) by KoRn
I look forward to Monday mornings now because of new metal Mondays.😊🤘🖤🤘🖤
Corey Taylor - Xmas!! Definitely needs to be your song for Christmas nu metal Monday!
For Christmas: yall have to check out Corey Taylor's song X-m@$!! It's hilarious and awesome. Yes Corey Taylor did a Christmas song and it is epic!

Hollywood it’s healing to hear you belt Through the Glass just off the cuff. You both are such awesome people ❤
The first time I heard this song...... I would have sworn that I was listening to Mudvayne.
Still waiting for you guys to react to their song "30/30-150". It's off the soundtrack to Jim Careys movie "#23". Rarely heard, but great. Same with the movie.

My son's old band actually opened for Stone Sour, Laconia Coil and Shadows Fall in Omaha, Nebraska
Every single Halloween for the last 3 years I have begged yall to do ‘Kidnap the Sandy Claws’. Please! Make it happen
Check out the the bonus tracks from this album: Inside The Cynic and Kill Everybody.
MORE STONE SOUR! Catalog is deep!
So Korn did Kidnap the Sandy Claws from Nightmare before Christmas, I mean that is Christmas to me.
That was great! "Do you want me to go adult or stay pg for 'inside'?" 🤣🤣🤣
Oh, my word, I love this song. This song is something else. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🖤🖤🖤🖤🤘🤘🤘🤘🖤🖤🖤🖤🤘🤘🤘. I listen to this song at least once a day. Sometimes more.😊
The folks that seem to talk the most about Stone Sour, swear this song doesn't exist...
Wow haven't heard this song in sooo long. Totally forgot about it. Awesome lol
Tha's not Billy from a Perfect Circle
His name is Josh ...
Check the dates, years Corey is in Stone Sour & Slipknot
guitarist Jim Root used to be in Stone Sour then went to Slipknot
✌🏻😸✌🏻
Perfect timing,I needed something to watch 🤟🔥
Not *ENTIRELY* sure if it counts as Nu Metal, but a great Christmas themed Metal song is 'Valhallelujia' by Nanowar of Steel.
Jeez I had this album early 2000
Yes Jim Root was one of the guitar players
Saw them at Metropol in Pittsburgh
Awesome show
You guys gotta tap their songs "Inside The Cynic" and "RU486" if you want more of that heavy-heavy 👍
Aahhhh, yes, back when Stone Sour were actually good!
Holy shit, I haven't heard this song in nearly 20 years. Thanks for making me feel ancient.
Damn, i remember listening to this song in 2003 and even now it’s still a banger
Y’all talked over my favorite part! “RUN MOTHERFUCKER!”
Yes! 100% please do Sandy claws by KoRn y’all will love it!!
fun fact: the forming of stone sour predates the forming of slipknot by 2 years. Stone sour formed in 1992 and slipknot formed in 1994
This was a good album.
Grievance s was an awesome one
Jim Root was in SS with Corey circa '95...wasn't he in this video?
This is literally a slipknot song just without the DJ ducesssss 🤣🤣🤣
This was from Stone Sours first album and this was the debut song released. My favourite SS song and that first album was 🔥 as well. Jim was the guitarist doing the 'backing vocals' Wasn't a fan of the later SS stuff.
Guys, it isn't EXACTLY appropriate, you may need to censor it a bit, but Corey Taylor released a song called X-M@$ that is legitimately my favorite Christmas song because I laugh every time.
Definitely nu metal. They have 6-7 songs that are very much in the nu metal category but Get Inside is the best of them.
This might be long, but it's a fun story (IMO). I was seeing a band a a couple years ago and one of the opening acts was called LIFE Project. Never heard of them, no clue who they were. You can hear what's left of his Iowa voice. This song/album was the transition from his Iowa voice to his Volume 3 voice.
Twisted insane underground psycho please
"Xmas Day" by Sevendust should qualify for Nü Metal Monday AND fit perfectly for the day. #numetalmonday
Hello 👋🏻 I like your videos have you ever hear about the band Despised Icon ? The song Vies D’ Anges is super heavy 👍🏻🇳🇱
This was the first time we ever saw Corey and Jim outside of Slipknot. Sid may just appear on this album, too.
Jim was the one pretending to be doing backing vocals 🤣
The guy who looks like Billy Howerdel from A Perfect Circle is Josh Rand.
Nu Metal Monday
CMF2 ... Corey Taylor 's new LP album
Sept 2023, on your next year 2024
" DEUCES! "
✌🏻😸✌🏻
Yooooo, I thought the same about the guitarist (is that Billy from APC?) I'm still not convinced that it isnt
I miss so much this times when Corey was a obssessed and still look like Metalhead .....he was a really scary dude🤘🤘🤘
Please check out more Stone Sour, both old and new material. They've explored all genres, and have done a great job doing it 🤟
need more stone sour.

What a banger boyz nothing bad about this song pure aggression !!! Always a turn up in the whip whatever the day , old school
I never really thought of Stone Sour as Nu Metal. But I guess they have some elements of it.

I like this mix, fantastic ❤️🔥🤘
Yes Jim is in the video (backing vocals)
Corey Taylor " X-M@$ "
For NEXT week Nu Metal Monday
There are so few Nu Metal songs that actually have a guitar lead, that this is probably the 3rd song to have one. 😂 🤘🍻
The entire first Stone Sour album is a masterpiece
This is sours greatest album this whole album is art should check it out the song blotter is genius you can hear his vocals but you can hear some knot in this album to the album is a masterpiece keep rocking on dudes🤘

@@kristaspecht - T/Y Krista
Great track! Always loved this one. I’d recommend Hesitate & Gone Sovereign
They've done Gone Sovereign. I watched it this morning.
You know I was thinking they had!
Anybody can say what they want? But Corey Taylor is one of the premier vocalists of our time because of his versatility!!
There's still a lot of people who view "Nu-Metal" as an insult to the music, when it should just be the classification of mid 90's to mid 2000's metal with a hint of hip hop influence and emotional vulnerability in the lyrics.
Best stone sour album you guys should react to the whole album corey taylor done a xmas song called merry f**king xmas
that whole cd is a banger
Nu Metal Monday
Next: more CMF2
Do Korn's Jingle Balls for Christmas. I think Corey Taylor has a solo Christmas song too but Korn's would be more nu-metal since it's the entire band.
Kidnap the Sandy Claws by KoRn
Maaaan you could call Stone Sour Slipknot light in a lot of ways. Love these guys every album is full of worthy listening stuff
👍😁
30/30-150 is another one
Corey Taylor's XM@$ or something, but Corey did a Christmas song that he put out with the intention of messing with Simon for X factor as they where trying to get one of their songs to hit number one in England and a Corey did the same thing with his Christmas song. Corey won, by the way, and his song got to number one on Christmas, and the video is hilarious.
