2000-2004 I started working in pharmaceutical quality control as the QC Chemist and later QA Manager of Lycoming Analytical Lab, later part of Chemir Pharma Services in Duboistown PA. It was a small operation engaged in raw material and API testing and stability testing for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. I helped organize operations to enable the owners' optimization of earning potentials prior to Chemir's acquisition of the site and consolidation of operations in Florida. My starting salary of $27k rose to $45k. With the housing bubble, I was able to buy a home in my favorite neighborhood of my hometown. I opted to not join their consolidation. I witnessed some dark and/or amusing events. Chemir grew rapidly before it collapsed.
