      Hey pacman! Appreciate you saying that. I kinda feel like the whole sale schedule of aliexpress is getting a bit old but if people are getting good information and sales prices then I’ll keep making them. I really wasn’t going to do one for this particular sale but there were some new items to aliexpress that I thought were worth sharing with you guys. So glad you are enjoying this series of videos my friend! Cheers!

    I LOVE my Giu reel as well as the silver feather! As for the Giu, the weight difference between the aurora air is definitely noticeable. I have it on the Mifine slash xul rod. If you're not a fan of how the Aurora feels, it's about the same. It is a very smooth retrieve, which is nice. No geary feel like the Haibos. Because it's so light, it has a cheap feel to it like it's a toy, but i find it amazing how light it is! At that price, im ordering another!

      @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL - I'd say it's a huge improvement, casting is about the same, I throw a .77 gram jig exclusively with it and use it as a panfish only reel. One day, I'd love to send you some of the tungsten jigs I make with the worms for it. Looking forward to your review of the GIU! I did put some epoxy over the back of the thumb bar just in case it gets loose like the one on my aurora. That was the only issue I've had other than the spool pin moving slightly, but that was on one of the Auroras that I changed the bearings on for ceramics, so I don't count that as a fault. Cheers!

    This material they are making reels from Pc-cf is a nice material better than nylon cf (pa-cf). Pc (polycarbonate) is more commonly known under the brand name lexan (bullet proof glass). Its most common use is the plastic in CD's. I have been using it in 3d printing for just on 3 years now. Most hand tools for the trades like cordless drills is nylon with glass fiber, pc is an upgrade to that plastic, is more stiffer and holds its shape under tension. The infill of glass fiber vs carbon fiber won't be much of a difference between them.

    • @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL
      @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Side85Winder hey sidewinder! Yep! PCCF sure is polycarbonate. It’s kind of interesting they chose PC over the traditional nylon. I actually don’t mind the feeling of nylon material but I can see how the stiffness of PC is superior to the softness of nylon. Surprisingly there’s another giu version that is black and uses a different CF material altogether. I’ll have to see if I can find the marketing material for that one. Thanks for sharing the info and cheers my friend!

    • @Side85Winder
      @Side85Winder 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL in 3d printing over time under pressure nylon compresses and becomes 'squished'. It does not return to its original shape. We are not strongly compressing the material with bolts, but there might be enough there to deform the shape and cause issues.
      Glass fiber vs carbon fiber filler i think its more of a sales gimmick. You have to look at the shape of filler they are using as well. The longer the strands the better. Where if its just a fine powder, it does nothing and littuarly weakens the material. The longer strands of fibers used actually overlaps and reinforces the material.
      The pc vs pa is deffently a upgrade for sure. Its stiffness and rigidity are fantastic for this application. The next generation materials will be PEI plastic. PEI is more expensive than PC in a fishing reel there is probably not much benefit in the better material, for that your talking game reels where strength matters. The best plastic is PEEK but is way to expensive, at this point machined/ cast aluminium 7075 is cheaper and strong enough. Might as well make it out of titanium for the price compared to PEEK.

      Hey Darrel! Hmmm the best I’ve been able to come up with is to use a gun carrying case. I found a relatively cheap Plano gun case on Amazon for around $50 and have been using that. Beware the Giu 99g, Peter! The washers on the main shaft of mine were installed in a "spooning" position, compromising both the drag and the handle tightness. Seems endemic to inexpensive CDM reels nowadays, but easy enough to fix if you know what's involved. However, another problem with the Giu 99g is not so easily fixed: In the quest for lightness, the screws joining the frame and the side plates are extremely small for the job and the drive is not well defined at all. To the point that I haven't dared to open the reel, afraid I'll strip those tiny screws and/or ruin the holes (remember they're plastic). Very much looking forward to see if you can work your magic on this, O guru! 🔍

    This is a really cool channel, im new to the concept of BFS but it seems pretty fun, thought I'd get the tsurinoya 4piece travel rod, whata a good reel to match it with? Once i upgrade my spinning kit i'll have a spare daiwa 1000XG spinning reel will that work as well as a bait caster? I havent used baitcaster before, is there a specific reason why these seem to be all the rage for BFS?

    • @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL
      @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@grantmacdonald6109 hey Grant! First off, thank you for the kind words. Very humbling to hear that people appreciate the channel and are getting good information and knowledge. Also, welcome to bfs!!! I warn you that buying one combo may not be enough 😆. Jokes aside, the Tsurinoya intruder is a great rod for trout, crappie, and smaller to mid sized bass. It won’t cast super far distances as it’s shorter but it’ll be great short accuracy. Regarding the reel, bfs specifically refers to smaller sized baitcast reels that are used for finesse lure presentations. I can’t exactly tell you one reason as to why they’re so great but I can list out a few reasons why I prefer bfs reels to spinning reels now; fun to cast, more accurate, more modifications readily available, new products constantly coming out, new “tech” constantly coming out, etc. I will say that if you are new to baitcasters that it will take a bit of practice getting used to them and that the learning curve can be a bit steep. However, once you really get comfortable casting I can almost assure you that you want really want to use your spinning setups again. Ok, to answer your question, what kind of budget so you have to work with and do you have any specific lure weights or fish species you want to target? Cheers my friend!

      @@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Oh man, now I'm the humbled one with you taking this much time to guide my dumb ass through it all.. thanks a lot! Here's my situation, I do a lot of "light fishing" from shore even in an urban setting, however not completely ultra light gear. I always keep a 4 sectioned 5-18g travel spinning rod and the mentioned 1000 sized spinning reel in my work pack and get a few hours in almost every day just to clear my head and whatnot. But the rod itself is not really that fast actioned nor perhaps suited for the fishing i actually do. Right now I'm using 5 gram (1/5 oz) offset jig heads with your standard 3inch shad paddle tail - but for fishing in an urban setting I could go even lighter I think, and perhaps persuade even the smallest fish into biting. Ideally i'd want to go weightless (EWG+small worm?) or perhaps a ~1g cheb head for slow presentations - right now I think even the tsurinoya in itself would work well with my 1000 sized spinning reel, but I'd ideally want to learn to use a baitcaster as well, figure I might just get my first one with the BFS rig. Where's usually the sweet spot for total lure weight, sub 2 gram i would assume right?

      @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @grantmacdonald6109 hey Grant! It’s really no big deal and my pleasure to help folks. Just a note, if you want to join a bigger bfs community come find our Facebook group. It’s called “BFS FINESSE FISHING” on Facebook. Really great group of people =). Anywho, yep you can totally fish smaller weightless plastics with bfs gear. The casting version of the intruder plus a decent bfs reel will suit you perfectly if you want to try something different from spinning. I suggest looking at one of the silver feather reels like the silver feather air or silver feather elite. My current confidence lure is the 2” Keitech swing impact with a size #6, #8 or #10 ewg hook. No additional weight required for this setup. Small dink bass, bigger bass, and tilapia will all take this setup gladly. If you want to make your life even easier you can use a size #000 micro snap to swap between lures. Hope this helps and come find the group if you use Facebook! Cheers my friend!

      @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL thx a lot for the answer, I fish some brazillian species of fish. Including peacock bass, dourado (Salminus brasiliensis), traira (Hoplias spp.), there might be other species depending on where I travel, like fish that resemble sea bass. These fish can get big, but I have a setup for the big fish, I wanna focus on small fish of these species, using smaller bait to catch fish lighter than 7 pounds. But since these can be on tricky spots, I would like to be able to cast far. I only do catch and release, so I am happy with any size of fish. If I accidentally hook a 10 pound fish, do you think a bfs setup can handle? It's not my goal, but it could happen. Thx for the attention
