I got my Magewell last week for this same reason of Remote contribution/Presenter. It's a killer feature. I was testing this same scenario just yesterday. It took me awhile to get the SRT to show up, the caller/listening setup still a bit blurry for me, but got it working. Trying to explore the Cloud Hub but seems to be a lot involved. 1 thing I hope get fixed is the NDI sources don't work with Zoom ISO. Would have been another way to bring Zoom presentation to studio production for local Zoom switching. E.G - Zoom Active speaker and the slide brought in via Zoom iso into MDM and part of the production
I think this device would have killed the Yolobox Pro had they not introduced the Yolobox Ultra. For me it is still a winner and better that the Ultra. I've been using the Yolobox for almost 4 years now, I'm moving on to Magewell Director mini soon. Distributors in SA are not serious that's why I don't have it yet. I'll soon be importing from the US but B&H also is a joke. They hand over the shipment to our local Post Office which is very useless. 😢
Great that it works in your studio, but it would be good to know what bandwidth it would require if you are working truly remotely and getting a return feed? Especially if you were to use the Speedify connection uilt into the DM. Any indications of what the requirements would be for a 1080P 50/60 tx/rx? In fact why not connect with any of us DM users overseas and do it 'for real'? That would be worth watching.
Can a program like obs decode the srt stream without a hardware decoder and see it in obs as a source? You have answered my request. I need something like this to stream a live fishing tournament back to my studio as a video source. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
@@aaronpk Would you consider the Yolobox Ultra to be a quality unit and would you spend your hard-earned dollars on one? And which would you go for, the Magewell or the Yolobox Ultra?
Impressive capability from Magewell, both on the Director Mini and the Pro Converts. Great video, thank you
Nicely done, Aaron! This makes it easier for remote correspondents for a livestream, for sure.
The Director Mini is very impressive.
I’ll have to watch this more than once to totally get it but this was helpful from what I did understand. Really interesting.
It will always be there for you! Stop by a livestream on Sunday and I can see if I can explain it further!

The web interface kills the Yolobox. That’s why on considering Magewell.
What a powerful tool!
The picture quality looks very clean. Unfortunately pictures on Yolobox are always washed out. Thank you for sharing 🙏

Hey great content as always. Been waiting for the remote to local connect using a vpn. Hopefully you will make it this time.
Awesome & Thanks :)
Hello. Great video. Can I livestream connecting my iphone and my camera? Is this better than a YoloBox?
With everything this can do, what would be a reason to buy a yolobox ultra? Especially since there is no remote control for a yolobox.
The yolobox still has a bunch of features this doesn't! More HDMI inputs, browser source overlay, network bonding for example.

Does anyone know of a way to set up an SRT stream from a PC or Mac? Or is this only available through specialized hardware?
I think OBS can stream using SRT.
Have a look at Garanin's SRT Streamer software.
