I totally get the concept and market but shoo Toyota is milking this cow for every drop! That price tag is just stupid and they didn't even bother to fix the offset rear axle .
Hi Juliet love your reviews. Can you perhaps try to test drive base models and not just the top end models? Example Cherry Tiggo 4 pro, Nissan Magnite base models.
Hey Leon, if you check out my channel you will see I don't only do the high end cars. I do whatever is launched and sometimes there will be a few fancy cars and then, like next week, I review the Kia Picanto and then the Kia Sonet. xxxx
Is it true Juliet that the inside have cheap handles and a cheap interior for the price?? And that back seats looks like the middle guy wont sit very pleasently 😮
The Cruisers South Africa gets don't have the hideous spotted LED round daytime running lights. That said, don't new cars sold in S.A. have to have daytime running lights?
I get the old school rugged appeal. But I'm sorry, it is ridiculously overpriced. No way in hell it costs toyota more than R200k to make that chunk of pig iron. Every part of that car has recovered R&D costs decades ago. The only reason for the stupid price is greed...
Beautiful vehicle, no frills, no fuss. just gets Sh*t done. 79 cruiser as well. come to think of it, the VW beetle 72 thereabouts model, was awesome. we have 2 x79 single cab bakkies at the office, man they are painful but be in the bush...... no other vehicle comes close. over priced..yes! rather have that than the top Ranger though. Too frilly. If I could afford it, I would have the 76 and 79 in my yard . :) Thanks Juliet , Love your reviews.
Ironically, that old 4.5l V8 Toyota doesn't HAVE power. It is as emotional as protecting 400,000 elephants in an overpopulated Botswana. People's delusions defy logic.
@@afriquelesud The V8 is so under tuned its ridiculous. It can run on paraffin and beer without any issues. What this means is it is super reliable and can easily be tuned to produce a lot more power while maintaining better than normal reliability. Take a Ford 3.0 V6, it is so over stressed in its standard format it can barely be tuned without major reliability issues. 99.9% of people who purchase this want something simple and unbreakable or highly customisable. Nothing comes remotely close.
Ridiculous pricing. Total gouge from TOYOTA. Still has the V8 offset axles, which is inexcusable. It's not an ode to anything... it's from the 80s. The only worthwhile update is the auto box.
I know that these type of vehicles have a place in the Market but the pricing is just rediculous. When you look at the lack of Tech and R&D that goes into this car and considering how old all the components that make up the car are. It should be alot cheaper!! Great cash cow for toyota because ppl are still willing to pay......Get a Mahindra rather 🙂
You can buy 2 Mahindras for this but it can outlast both of them and is still more competent. Only people who know nothing about this market complain about these vehicles. Yes they could easily be cheaper but there is no competition so its just simple supply and demand. There is a call all over the world asking for more low tech vehicles (especially bakkies) and all that is offered is bigger, softer and more complicated piles of urban wear.
No thanks... Can get anywhere in SA in a plain old D Max. At fuel and price you can buy a small townhouse and have other people paying your holidays at the coast.
That Landcruiser is built to survive pretty much anything - nothing else made today can really compete. That's the difference. Modern cars are designed to fail - too complex, too many unnecessary features.
That's fine and I agree, modern cars with their huge tablet screen are a bit vulgar. But why is this thing priced as if it does have all the latest technology and unnecessary features 😂
@@biafo4541 I've never driven a Landcruiser, but i've driven a Hilux plenty of times. They're built like tanks, and that's what you pay for. Most modern cars are so flimsy and cheap in comparison.
@@biafo4541 Yet there is huge demand for them. People want basic RELIABLE utility to customise. You would think other manufacturers would have woken up by now.... except they have gone woke.
Poor girl they let you drive that rubbish overpiced, the Unsafe no n cap star vehicle, they tried to do a update on the stupid old car by raising the bonnet why are people still buying this rubbish

Toyota cannot make proper axles.
5:43 that's the same door handle that was in my old Toyota Tazz!! 🤣🤣🤣
WAHAHAHAHAHHA
The Steering wheel not having volume control and skip buttons is truly a slap in the face. That would have saved the crappy radio.
Agreed!
Thank you for making my day. Ek het van begin tot einde gelag. 🎉
The less modern frills and gadgets that can break the better. It looks just like the ones from the 80’s and they are still running for that reason.
This is very true!
But that simplicity should come at half the price
Love this. Perfect shape
Love it . Cool car
Just love the Cruiser's! 🆒😎👍
Old school is cool 😎 you should test this car off road in its element
I would have loved to taken it on an adventure!
Lovely car ❤

Toyota must really trust you. It’s hard for reviewers to get these cars and we all know why. 😂
best review yet .....
If it shares an engine with the Hiace, it is not a smart move.
Not the Hiace necessarily but it does share it with the new gen Quantum, Hilux and Fortuner.
Please demonstrate how to use 4wd and how to remove it please
The V8 just sounded very cool. Rest is no brainer
True!
I realy thought it will have steering controls then it would be 100%. I see you get aftermarket option.
Is it true Juliet that the inside have cheap handles and a cheap interior for the price?? And that back seats looks like the middle guy wont sit very pleasently 😮
I want to say yes ha ha
If it was a Chinese brand, this car would have been severely criticised
Badly!
😂 the sound effects you make

Organisations like the UN love this Land Cruiser ...
This thing is so low spec I'm surprised that they offer customers windows on every trim level
Hahahahaha
What is happening with the middle seat there at the back??? 😂😂😂.
For me this car only makes sense as a single cab Bakkie...
I
I dare you to try parallel parking with this thing. Give the nerves a real test.
The only thing toyota needs is a good interior design team across all the ranges
You look cool A.F, Juliet couldn't look bad if u tried.
HOW VERY DARE I? 🤣🤣
hahaha
its great but overpriced by about 300k. all those parts paid for long time ago.

YA'LL make the mistake of v8 buyers they dont care about efficiency etc...they just want power at all cost😅😅

The steering wheel and gear lever both looks so lost....I'd buy it though if I had the money I'm a toyota slave 😂😂😂
Toyota unreliability and worthless warranty cured me from that brain cancer
How the heck does Toyota validate the price point, totally ripping their customers off. This is like having a tin can on wheels😂

I feel like they should've at least made it a manual 😢
Every military in the world uses automatic. As testosterone isn't a great gear shifter.
Overpriced with a toyata venture interior.😮
More reliable than Landrover Range Rover 💩📦s
