When I was young and heard my mother express her longing to go to heaven, I couldn't understand why she wanted to leave us and felt hurt. Now, many years later, I find myself longing for the same thing. I have a matured perspective and know I am only passing through. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to belong to You.
"Thank you Jesus for allowing me to belong to you" What a wonderful, soothing, thought. Thank YOU.......for posting this,my friend, It truly unbuckled my soul.
After I had received the news that my best friend had died in a helicopter accident, I left my office, got in my car to go somewhere. I had the Christian radio station on and the song being played was "Home Where I Belong". In those moments of grief, my heart was greatly comforted because I knew my friend had gone home to be with the Lord, just where he belongs..
Every time I hear this song it brings tears to my eyes because yes I live on this earth but this is not my home, this is not where I belong. Heaven is where I belong and one day I will go there to be with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I will be here on earth for a short time but when I finally reach Heaven I will be Home forever. If your not sure where your home will be one day you can know. Jesus said I AM the way, the truth, and the life no man cometh unto the Father but by me. Jesus saves and no one else. YOU MUST GO THROUGH JESUS or you will never make it Home. AMEN GOD BLESS.
The Booth Brothers dress so decently ,no tight jeans and no muscles bulging out of tight tshirts or suits that look too small for a man to wear. I appreciate this.
I wrote Home Where I Belong in 1983 when I found out I was no longer HIV positive. I based the song 🎵 on the Scripture where The Apostle Paul says,"To live is Christ but to die is gain."
I’ve never heard this song before but it’s beautiful and Ronnie did a great job as always .. his voice is so even and just so sweet. He’s singing to God and I’m sure God loves it to. God Bless the Booth Brothers.🙏

Written by Pat Terry from Smyrna, Georgia and was a number 1 hit in the '70s for B.J. Thomas. Pat also wrote "Happy Man", and some country hits like "Jump On It" by John Anderson and "Help Me Hold On" by Travis Tritt.
I have a number of their wonderful cds but I had never heard this song. It is beautiful and sung with such feeling. Thanks for sharing it. God certainly gave Ronnie a special voice.
I have recently bought there CD " Songs of Heaven and Hope". It is a great set of Cd's. This song is on it and it is an awesome song. When I heard it I just thought about my mom and all of the suffering that she is going through. I know that her time on Earth is numbered and I am not sure when she is going to be going home to be with the Lord. I have downloaded this song into a file for her that will be played at her funeral when the time comes.
"Home Where I Belong" They say that heavens pretty And living here is too But if they said that I would Have to choose between the two I'd go home, going home Where I belong And sometimes when I'm dreaming It comes as no surprise That if you look and see The homesick feeling in my eyes I'm going home, going home Where I belong While I'm here I'll serve him gladly And sing him all my songs I'm here, but not for long And when I'm feeling lonely And when I'm feeling blue It's such a joy to know that I am only passing through I'm headed home, going home Where I belong And one day I'll be sleeping When death knocks on my door And I'll awake and find That I'm not homesick anymore I'll be home, going home Where I belong, hmm

These people all have new groups and they are all good singers but these three will always be my favorites!!
Jim Brady is the only one with a new group. Yes, there was a special consonance with him in this trio, but Paul Lancaster isn't lacking by any means.

"Home Where I Belong"
They say that heavens pretty
And living here is too
But if they said that I would
Have to choose between the two
I'd go home, going home
Where I belong
And sometimes when I'm dreaming
It comes as no surprise
That if you look and see
The homesick feeling in my eyes
I'm going home, going home
Where I belong
While I'm here I'll serve him gladly
And sing him all my songs
I'm here, but not for long
And when I'm feeling lonely
And when I'm feeling blue
It's such a joy to know that
I am only passing through
I'm headed home, going home
Where I belong
And one day I'll be sleeping
When death knocks on my door
And I'll awake and find
That I'm not homesick anymore
I'll be home, going home
Where I belong, hmm
Thanks a lot
