How do you remove the clutch from the engine?

Hello Can you please tell me the partnumber of the Pulley at the Driveshaft at the PTO and the Bearing Part number

My clutch is squealing, getting hot and will stall once it decides to engage, the bearing does look old. My question is will a bad bearing alone cause my symptoms? Or should be buying a new clutch assembly?
    Cheers

glad you used the shop press, best way to get those bearings out. But $34 for a bearing? Seems way high priced to me?

I agree... I like the 10-12 bearings a lot better! But this one even from the few sources I have found is $25+shipping and tax etc.

Do you have a video of how to remove the front PTO clutch, i’ve searched through your videos and can’t seem to find one?

About the 2:30 mark in this video shows the process. Based on what I say, I have a better video but I do t remember what/when I did it. th-cam.com/video/YbwbpWIDcpM/w-d-xo.html

Great videos! I have a 420 with a nasty rattle as I throttle up and I think it’s the clutch bearing. Do you have a good spot to find part numbers? I cannot locate a part number for a 420 clutch bearing. TY

Easiest way to find the part number for the clutch bearing is through JDparts.com. Grant the bearing should be the same between the 318 and 420. AM39420

@@mmrbeefhow do you remove the clutch plate from the coil so the bearing that's in the coil can be replaced?

If you don't have a press or no one willing to help can you just clean & repack the bearing?

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look of it, the bearing is a sealed bearing. One of the items I always tell people is extremely handy is a small bench top press. A 6 ton press from Harbor Freight is less than $100 but can be used is a lot of common residential or small shop projects.

@@mmrbeef Thank you, I guess I have to purchase that press.

My pto for my 332 the bearing was noisy overheated i guess it cause damage to coil. Now pto doesn't engage but coil does hold a bolt with 12 volt. My Tractor forums states ohms should 3.5-4
My coil has 2 ohms oem cost too much at $650!! This pto coil is hard to find in decent shape. I saw some beefy aftermarket ones completely assemble for $250-$350 on backorder. Ogura Clutch Coil MA-GT JD9AL1 (AM 104895) Any help gladly appreciated

What does the coil surface look like? Burned or still nice and red? I might have a good PTO coming off a machine in a couple days if you are interested. You can also check on eBay, there are normally some good used one there. Typically it is cheaper to buy the whole PTO than just the coil.

@@mmrbeef Yes thank you for your time & effort making these videos.
My pto is still red but, blister between 10 & 2 o clock bearing was burnt black. Also ohms was .0002 Where I live no repair shop will press out old bearing saying it's hard to keep it true. So I cleaned & replace the bearing.

Folks if you don't have a press don't fret it none. Put your parts in the freezer for a few hours or overnite and they will drive apart and together easy.

This is another good way to do it. You can also use an oven to heat a part up to install it. I showed an example of this when I installed the crank gear on the crankshaft on an Onan B43G rebuild.
