my favorite weather radio, great weather sensitivity, pretty good fm with rds, sometimes need to tilt antenna around to get some, am reception not very good but still there for night scanning, good single speaker, external antenna input, good bass for size after going to tone control but still not to the level of cambrodge cd-740 (i love bass) and i like it’s blue and white display and insane customization

I always thought Midland and Reecom were the best until I got this one. I liked it so much I ended up buying my dad the Motorola MWR-839, which is identical on the inside. But varies only on the outside with a different color layout and rounded buttons and indicators. Eton's FRX5 has recently caught my eye with it's charging capabilities as well as it's flashlight & ambient light, but I don't think the build quality is anywhere near this radio. I recently bought an Eton Zoneguard for dirt cheap and it works and looks great, but it stays on for 2 hours after each alert!

I got one. You collect weather radios, your dad collects AM/FM radio. We have a radio family over here.
I bought this for the reason that not only does it have Weather with same, but full RDS, PS, and RT support. Along with CT.
When you receive song titles on the screen, it is called DAB (Digital Radio Broadcasting)
Let's say, I have a radio station with a song that has song titles and artist info, I could get Digital Radio's to pick up the name and the artist of the song. So that's cool that they implant it into a WR. My Sony Xpheria picks up the station ID (Mix102.3) and displays it in the notification bar on my phone. Cool video as well!
Plus, I am going to make some mocked up EAS Alerts. So, if you need one made, I can make one for you. I already have 2 in my video collection, so I have some you can use if you want.
DAB broadcasts from 174 - 240 MHz.
There are no DAB radio broadcasts in the USA. The USA uses a different digital Standart called HD RADIO that is in band. What you see here with the song info is simply the RBS or RBDS which encodes small text messages and encodes it in the fm signal. So that's traditional analogue fm but with strong enough signal to decode the dbs data.
How many Weather Alerts can you have per County? I live in a area with five Counties are within in 30 Miles. I need to have Blizzard Warning, High Wind, Tornado Watch/Warning, Flood Watch/Warning, Severe T-Storm Watch/Warning.

My first RDS radio was a Grandig Ocean boy 510 with full RDS. But the Rf front end was poor.
RBDS is Radio Broadcast Data System look it up its in basically all cars

How about 4AA rechargeable batteries if 6V dc adapter connected to charge it’s batteries?
How long have you owned the sangean ? Is it still working. I talked to another guy here on TH-cam. He told me his sangean lasted a year
It sometime depends what station does that because one station here in my area only show the station name and it’s genre.
RDS is a side band low bit rate digital transmission. So usually if you cannot get stereo, then RDS will not decode. But my Pioneer DEH-8700BS will decode it. But it is only PS.
The CT button is to synchronize the time with another clock

I just bought one and the screen is all kinds of messed up. I don’t know why but I can’t see anything at all unless I tilt it a certain way.

so should I buy the sangen instead of the wr 300
NWS storm chaser If you want a very customizable alarm clock, get the Sangean. if not get the WR300 though I recommend getting the 400
Th CL-100 you can add alerts, I dont know about the WR300 or 400
