You need new Double A Batteries for that if it dies, It happened to my WR400 before when I was on Spring Break when my Double A Battery Died it also goes blank when the batteries are dead. That means the Double A Batteries need to be replaced with a new one.
Hmm, well, the batteries I putted for the Sangean are now on the HH54VP and the screen on that one is not blank, and even plugging it in without the batteries it still does this issue so that might not be the case.
@@racingpower1954 it’s a part that is prone to fail permanently in every electronic device over its lifespan. Some companies used poor quality capacitors that fail more quickly.

This is a weather radio idea you should try to get the wr-100 version 1-3 not version 4-5 because they will died
