    I have owned mine for 15 months now and love it. It’s fast and it drives great. I have never been beaten Accelerating from a green light and after the first shift which takes a few seconds it shoots off like a rocket. I always find myself losing tack of my speed. I usually go around 8-10 over.

    The savagegeese quick take is more than twice as long as the typical review from any of the leading publications. I personally like the dry delivery, he doesn't try to use emotion and hype to assess something that we want to be analyzed objectively. Best reviews on TH-cam!

    Love that you did this review. I've been waiting and wondering about it. I sat in one of these this past weekend and was impressed. Wish the review was longer. One recommendation is everyone talks about practicality, size, and driving dynamics. What about brake and pedal feel, turning radius and road noise? Keep up the great work!

    Good review. As I’ve stated elsewhere, my wife is short, with a small torso. She was not able to raise the seat high enough to see comfortably over the dash. The one she sat in was $ 44,000. The salesman couldn’t get it any higher. She has never had that problem before. Killed the sale.

    savagegeese, Thank you for pointing out how the large wheels and narrow sidewall tires affect the ride. The wheel sizes of today's cars, SUV's and now even trucks have become ridiculously large. The tires help the suspension soak up bumps, and of course wider sidewalls do it better. A decade or more ago, you rarely if ever heard of a tire blowing out from hitting a large pothole, but now days you do. Also when you buy a car, every time you increase trim levels, or go up in engine size, the wheels get bigger and the sidewalls narrower. I just bought a new 2017 Camry, and I opted to go with the Camry le with the optional 16'' alloy wheels. I live in central Utah, at an elevation of 5,600 ft, which means winter snow. Wider sidewalls do better because they flex more in the cold weather, thus allowing them to form to the ground and grab the snow and ice better.

    I like the shorter quick review format. Maybe it's because this is not a car I would consider buying? Dunno, but I think this format would keep me watching even if I wasn't lookin at buying a specific car (and was cruising TH-cam for reviews).

    Your explanation of why exactly this car has a choppy ride is really helpful to understanding the design tradeoffs you frequently mention. Very nice short review. I do think this car would be easy to live with in cities with tight parking and narrow neighborhood streets.

    Enjoy and respect your reviews. If you get a chance take out the sport model of this vehicle. As an owner of 3 versions of the Vw gti (including the latest mk vii) I wanted something a little more unique and found it in the qx sport. It sits lower and I feel it’s design is truly strikimg with an upmarket interior. It’s front drive only but I’ll get around that with good snow tires. It’s a quirky car but interesting. For those of you mentioning the high price you are correct however they can be had with deep discounts as Infiniti needs to move some of these cars. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you take out a sport. Keep up the good work.

    All your reviews are great. One thing you didn't mention but I do think bears mentioning is that a lot of these new CUV's have a very forward sloping rear window such that the apparent cargo space with the hatch open is no where near the same size when the hatch has to close - items can only be filled up to half of the vertical height of the interior otherwise the hatch wont close. That's why I prefer the hatch design on the jeep grand cherokee or originial wrx wagon, for example, the rear glass was much more vertical and allowed for greater interior cargo space. It also sheds snow better and allows for slightly better visibility.
    Thanks again for your hard work in doing these reviews

    My canoe is 18 feet, my surfski is 21 feet long. I need a real roof rack with a long front-back spread and low enough that I can park in my garage with the canoe on top. That rules out almost every SUV - they are all too tall. Also, most CUVs and SUVs have fake roof rails that only disguise a couple of fixed crossbar mounting points that are too close together front-back.
    The AWD version QX30 is taller, but is still better balanced than the FWD versions. It happily drifts evenly sideways, without under- or oversteer, though it can be made to do either. And I am amazed at how well the Continental run-flats work, after using up lots of Pilot Sports and Supersports on other vehicles.
    The motor sounds really cheap and the transmission gets confused, but shifting manually works OK. There's plenty of space for two people and lots of toys. The dealers are doing huge discounts, at least in Georgia.
    I drove a new Impreza wagon, and liked the handling, but the motor and transmission are downright pathetic. I can't afford a V90, but I don't think it would go sideways well, anyway. I liked the VW wagon, but despise VW corporate politics. What else is left? A $65000 Audi (VW)?

    I have been watching your reviews for a long time and I like them a lot, especially the deep insight, honesty and manufacture brand neutrality. I remember it didn't bother me in the past but I think you've changed how often you switch cameras and there's a lot more time spend on the windshield and your face. I've noticed it a lot on the g90 review and I think it drops the value of the video, at least for me.

    I just don't get this car. I get there are some people who would like a tiny CUV, and I would be one of them too, for daily driving in winter conditions, but at $46,000, for a car with only 208 HP??? It would make more sense to spend $20,000 less and buy a Mazda CX-3 or Honda HR-V. Hell, you can buy 2 of them for the price of a QX30 if you go low or mid trim.

    All the corn made me think of Indiana! You said you've had other people look at it. At 6'4" with big feet and an ass to match I find car reviews frustrating. I've sat in cars that have had taller people comment on them, saying they are great - then I sit in them at it's terrible. My shoulders stretch for the wheel or hug the B column... not enough space around the pedals, the list is pretty long. Thank you for providing better size input than most.

    You haven't ever profiled a vehicle that I'm interested in, but I always tune in. That is because of your "on the lift" segment. Looking at the underside of a vehicle reveals so much. Not just about a particular car, but also about manufacturers' design philosophy. This is overlooked by other reviewers and much appreciated by me.

    They certainly managed to fool a lot of people into thinking it is a Mercedes underneath. In fact its almost all Nissan Qashqai and is built in the UK on the Qashqai production line mixed at random with them. The transmissions are mostly Renault-Nissan. They do have a tie with Mercedes, in that they supply drive trains for the Mercedes entry level A and B Class cars among others. Nissan are also building the new X Class pickup for Mercedes, which is essentially a Nissan Navara NP300 in drag.

    • @bigd7386
      @bigd7386 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ummm... this has nothing to do with the Qashqai. It is indeed a reskinned MB GLA. Just because they build them in the same factory, doesn't mean they're the same car. The Nissan Altima and Titan roll out of the same factory, does that make them the same? The engine is built by Nissan, but was engineered by MB. And the Transmission is the Same dual clutch used in the A, CLA, and GLA Classes. I don't know where your facts come from... but you may want to check their sources, cuz they're wrong.

    • @hedydd2
      @hedydd2 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dedrean Dixon
      Wow, they conned another sucker! If it was a Mercedes they would not be building them in random order down the Qashqai production line. They'd build it on the A Class line. Believe me, there's quite some distance between the nearest Mercedes factory and the UK Nissan factory where these are built for Europe.

    Oh great, another car built on the horrendous W176 platform? At least you know it's going to be over priced wallowing & slow with a bad ride & lots of irritating quirks before you even watch the rest of the review I guess. Can't fault Mercedes for producing this rubbishy platform consistently. Sadly the clueless buyers see the badge and are happy to get screwed over - this being an Infiniti probably won't get away with it like the CLA & A class does - I predict very limited sales.

      I love my ContiWinterContacts and the ContiSportContacts are pretty good, too. Comfy, quiet, grippy tyres, never let me down.
      I'm in Europe, where they're cheap, comparatively.

      Are you going off the magazine stats? Because they got caught cheating.
      My personal experience with Nokian's summer tyres is that they are noisy with very mediocre performance. Fuck Nokian.

      Not gonna lie, I clicked on this hoping to hear some Turbowski commentary....
      Still enjoyed it though, I didn't mind the ambient lighting & whoever was viciously vaping behind the camera 😉
