I love pressing open too. However I’m concerned that they won’t stand up to the test of time like pressing to the dark side does. Have you tested quilts with seams pressed open? Like what’s your oldest quilt made with pressed open seams? I was thinking of making two identical small quilts with one pressed open and one not and then just throw them in every load of laundry just to see how they hold up. Because I really enjoy how they go together with open seams. I just worry.
I’ve been doing this for years and have never had a problem. But what you have to remember is almost all garment seams are pressed open and they go through a lot more abuse that quilts. Don’t listen to the quilt police and press open if you prefer it.
The quilt beside me is the Nocturne version of Trellis! You can find the tutorial for it here, with links in the description: th-cam.com/video/U_8NeYykqQ4/w-d-xo.html

I'm loving the owl jewelry you've been wearing with these "Nocturne" kit tutorials.
Thank you! They are so fun. :)
Love your new fabric and new patterns. P.S lady you are looking good too.
Thank you so much!
I like the owl line. The tourquoise
Glad you like it!

Is that the quilt you are working in that is on the right side of you where the fabric is?
