Of course I was there. I live in Philly so I’ve been blessed to have such an amazing park so close. Kingda Ka and The Golden Kingdom were my childhood, it was so epic and destined for greatness. I remember the tiger shows, Balin’sJungleLand, and the hype/energy that surrounded the entire ride area. Kingda Ka was legendary, it always will be records or not. I’m devastated this is truly happening. I still can’t believe it, and I won’t until the structure comes down. I’m too optimistic I’m holding out hope someone high up will change their mind. I brought my two epic 2005 T-Shirts and rode it as much as I could. I’m truly gutted. It’ll never be the same being able to drive up from afar and see the King of Coasters. It’ll never be the same.
It’ll never be the same for sure man. Awesome way to send it off. Def dig the optimism. Would be awesome if someone higher up was just like nah not happening. We also remember the tiger shows and when that area was full of life. Great times.
It's insane that Scorpion at BGT got a proper announcement and an extra few weeks of last rides added by Seas but Six Flags can't do anything like this for the former biggest and fastest coaster. Shit is a joke
Ka got to 120 plus mph from a dead stop faster than VC goes from 40-70. Even though it was shorter it blew VC out of the water. When Dragster or Ka launched it just felt different it’s just hard to put it into words it felt so out of control like all hell was breaking loose. VC just feels like a typical coaster to me. I think it’s a good ride but I don’t see it as earth shattering or a world beater like Iron Gwazi.
The 'NEW' Six Flags had one opportunity to introduce themselves as the leaders of the amusement/thrill park industry. And how do they do that...? With pure unfiltered silence, until it was too late. And don't tell me Great Adventure had no say, I've gone over my bosses head before. What are they gonna do, fire the whole park? I'd like to see that shit!!
What they did with this ride was an absolute travesty… The fans were ripping each other apart over it not believing it until it actually happened… And now we’re all in unison together angry at six flags… I also am wondering what this ride is going to be… Since they said it was going to be a multi record-breaking launch coaster… Doesn’t mean he’s going to be a multi launch coaster… Just that it will break multiple records
Could be the worst seasonal effort on the part of Great Adventure in my membership history. Running rides at reduced capacity with 1 train and ultra slow operations, rides closed, broken, or delayed for reasons under the park's control, failure to complete off-season projects even close to schedule, tight-lipped and delayed communication practices, serious food and beverage deficiencies, lack of consistent and transparent pricing, reduced operating hours, and unannounced closure and demolition of 6 rides, including their most marketable attraction. Management, corporate or otherwise, should be ashamed.
I would like to take this opportunity to apologize, Fam. I said that I thought you guys were getting played. I admit I was totally wrong and I hope you accept my apology, Fam! 🙏
Yeah, I absolutely hate how this new corporation handled this. Part of me thinks that the former Cedar Fair executives had it out for Kingda Ka from the beginning given that this ride stole the records from Top Trill Dragster. Also, hear me out on this, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the ride is actually a multi- launched B&M giga given the good relationship Cedar Fair has with B&M
Dude we’re with you! Like we said in the video it just feels so personal! A launched b&m giga would be super interesting. Would love so see how that layout would look.

Tbf great adventure is the only reason word got out. People started letting people know. GAdv is the reason peeps were able to get last rides on it

I keep hearing nighthawk is gone too.
Same. That can go though tbh
@ Still wish the park would announce it
